Kojiro's jaw dropped to the floor as he struggled to understand the scene in front of him. When his wits came to him, he would gather up Shusui-sama's things and then.....hide like a good little Scorpion. Kojiro doubted he had the strength to battle the storm right now. Besides, hopefully Asako-sama wrote down a journal or something that may leave clues. If whatever murdered Shusui-sama came here again, Kojiro would be prepared to bolt. As it stands, he just ate his rations in nervous silence.

With Kojiro isolated from the others, and his pack with him, that leaves 9 days' worth of rations between Denbe and Masuyo (luckily, Miyako took rations from Kojiro before he left). Anyone who eats only 1 day's worth owes me a TN 5 stamina roll vs getting sick, and anyone who eats none owes me TN 10.
Miyako = Eats 2. Denbe = Eats 1, passes check. Kagae = Eats none, passes check. Kojiro = Eats 2. Masuyo = Undetermined.
How will we be doing watches, or will you simply sleep out the storm, using that as cover?
I already have perception rolls from Kojiro and Denbe if they decide to utilize them. I believe Kagae and Miyako are opting out of staying up.
Masuyo, I'm not rushing you to hurry or anything, this post is mainly as a reference for me so I can quickly see who owes me what. You all can continue to post until you think you're ready to sleep.

The Scorpion figured he was doomed anyways and trusted in his hiding ability. He would stay up to when he normally figured the first watch was due and then go to sleep.

Denbe frowned, staring out at the storm.
Especially after Kojiro hadn't returned and it was coming due time for them all to be asleep. He wasn't going to wake the courtier to keep a watch though, the Crab seemed singularly uninterested, and it wasn't a service he felt right, as a bushi, asking the shugenja to provide. So eventually, Denbe would come to the conclusion that he'd sleep now, while the storm was heaviest- the sooner he got to sleep, the sooner he could rise. With any luck he'd be up before the sun began to rise and before the storm got light enough for them to be in any real danger, and take his watch then.

Quote: Tei Kae rolled 5 10-sided dice: 3, 9, 10, 2, 8 Total: 32 (5-50) Shosuro Miyako! You wake up. It's still nighttime, but the storm seems to have broken. Everyone is sound asleep but you. Some moonlight seeps in through the holes in the ceiling of the shrine, offering bits of illumination. Not a whole lot, but enough to let you know there is no more cloud cover. At the far end of the shrine, by the door, a little girl in a solid white kimono stood there, guarded. Her tiny hand gripped the edge of the doorway, one of two short black-haired pigtails visible. She seemed to be watching the group of you with keen interest.

Bleary eyed, Miyako wasn't even sure at first that what she was seeing wasn't a dream but as she woke up, she gave a small eep of startlement as she realized that it wasn't part of a dream. She wasn't terribly fond of children but as her senses came back to her, she tried to piece together exactly what was going on, and decided to play it calm. Excitability got no one, no where.
"Hello...are you okay, dear? Is something wrong?" After all, the girl looked tense.

@ Miyako:
Well, you're not entirely sure you aren't dreaming. Things seem a bit surreal, as if this could be the most lucid dream you've ever had. But it could be very very real too. It was hard to tell.
To the best of your knowledge, there was actually a little girl standing there.
"Please... help me..." she would squeak, her voice almost cracking from seemingly emotional duress. "Come quick, there's no time!"
And she would run off, little footsteps heard against gravel and puddles.

She glanced at the other sleeping samurai. Sound asleep, and she still wasn't sure she wasn't dreaming. Great. Well, except she didn't usually have the option of deciding what to do in her dreams as far as she knew. Grabbing her weapons, she moved towards where the sound of the footsteps went, hoping she wasn't doing something colossally stupid; after the incident yesterday with the scare-samurai she wasn't exactly looking to look the fool again even if no one else had really said anything to her. She just had this bad feeling that she was either in something that was going to turn into a nightmare or something she'd wish was only a dream.

As Miyako stepped outside of the shrine, she saw the little girl with pigtales down a road, waiting. Upon seeing Miyako, the girl would dart down another side road, the line of sight quickly being lost by a set of ruins.

"Wait up!" She'd call out, half hoping one of the others would wake up from the sound of her voice. This was like one of those plays where the characters would chase each other across the stage only to disappear just as the other characters got close. It was really starting to get a bad vibe for her. But even if anyone did wake up, she continued to run after the little girl.

Miyako hurries around the corner, barely able to keep up. The little girl can be seen at another intersection, closer to the heart of the city.
"Hurry, please! There's no time! Their lives are in danger!" the girl would call out, before darting to the right this time, out of sight, and in the direction of the castle.
Miyako, to the best of your knowledge, you haven't seen any other signs of habitation yet.
If the voices of you or the girl have traveled to your companions, it doesn't appear anyone has awoken from the commotion.

She kept going, at this point what else could she do really. While she might be considered cruel she wasn't completely heartless. But she also wasn't completely stupid, what in the heck was going on here? Taking a deep breath to calm down and try to think it all out rationally, she realized that as the girl mentioned lives in danger that one far more competent than she had already died and been strung up to serve as warning. She definitely needed Kojiro or the others. No way was this little courtier able to handle that by herself.
Instead, she turned around and began running for her companions and their help as much as she might wish to help the girl.

Miyako, the appearances of the buildings begin to run together, making one hut indistinguishable from the others. Leaving the girl to her possible fate, you run from street to street to street to street, going everywhere and nowhere at once. You can't tell if you are making any progress whatsoever...
Soon, one street lets out before the main gate of the castle itself - and you're pretty sure you avoided going in that direction. A little girl - the same little girl - stands in the middle of the open doorway. Though, between now and when you last saw her, she didn't look the same. Her matted hair hung loose and in clumps; her white kimono was torn and tattered; her posture was much different, hunched forward uncomfortably forward.
And her eyes... her eyes were pure black orbs now, fixated on your own gaze.
The world around you seems to begin falling into darkness, as if the very light of the heavens was being snuffed out. The girl begins by taking a slow, dreadful, barefooted step towards you, and you find you are unable to move or even look away.
Miyako, you cannot even blink nor avert your gaze, and your body is paralyzed. Give me a TN 5 Willpower roll. Success will restore the function of one part of your body, and raises will restore one extra part, chosen from the following list: Eyes, head (after eyes), arms, hands (after arms), knees, legs (after knees), lungs, heart (after lungs).

Miyako manages to avert her eyes but really wishes her mouth could move, she couldn't exactly sweet talk her way out of this one. Joy.
