Sanoskue closed his eyes, but didn't sleep, even though he wanted to. He felt he had to stay awake and keep watch over his family, just incase something decided to happen.

---A few more months later---
Kanti lay in the grass, enjoying the warm sunlight and the enjoying the sight of she and Sanoskue’s pups playing together. Sanoskue lay next to her, and equal look of joy and pride on his face. “Do you think it’s time to name them?” Kanti asked.

Kanti smiled back, then motioned to one of the pups, a dark gray female growling playfully at one of her brothers. “I think we should name her Tala.”

"Thats a nice name." Sanoskue said before turning towards another pup, one who was mostly black, except for a white right paw and white left ear. "I think he should be Hiskue."

Kanti looked at her mate in surprise. “After your brother?” she asked gently, not opposed to the name but curious as to why Sanoskue wanted to name one of his own pups after the brother that helped drive him out of his pack.

“Okay. It is a good name,” Kanti said softly, licking Sanoskue’s muzzle. “What do you think of the name Mika?” she asked, pointing out the only pup that was completely black like her parents.

Kanti smiled back. “Perfect. Now, what about that little one?” she pondered, indicating to Hiskue’s identical twin sister, who was crouched outside the circle of pups, watching carefully, before suddenly leaping and tackling Tala’s side.

Kanti studied her remaining daughter for a few minutes, watching her play. “How about Chista?” she asked after a bit.

Kanti’s tail wagged happily as she licked Sanoskue’s muzzle. “Wonderful,” she said happily. “Our pups are happy, healthy, have names, and most of all, are safe.”

Sanoskue smiled and wrapped his tail around his mate, "The future looks bright." He said as he watched their pups play.
