Arron stopped not far away from his friend & knelt. He placed a gentle hand on his shoulder. "Easy now it-it's okay..." he said kindly. The mechanic did not know what to do, but was going to be there for his friend.

The slave arched his back forward, bending as if under an immense pressure. He held tightly to the sides of his head while his mind fought itself. It was like the closer he'd come to remembering his past, the more his mind fought to keep the memories hidden. Whatever remained locked inside appeared to want to stay that way. The pain was only the result of the warring sides. If he let either side win to the other, it would go away, but his mind was more powerful than his nearly broken spirit. He'd already forgotten the name of the woman he'd spoken to mere minutes ago. "...I'll lose everything I remembered so far..." he strained to say. "Arron... you... have to...knock me unconscious. I can't win this... just yet."

The mechanic stared at his friend for a minute. "Y-You want me to what?!" he asked. He then shook his head, clearing his mind. Arron made a wrench appear. "...I'm sorry Talbot." he said before raising the tool high above his head. He brought it down as hard as he could on the young man cringing at the sickening thud it made once it made contact.

The mark had been hit, and Talbot collapsed onto his chest, unconscious. All of the thoughts buzzing in his head stopped all at once, and the memories ceased to erase themselves any further. As the clearing grew quiet, a calming breeze passed over the two of them and rustled the grass.

The young man pocketed the wrench & scooped up his friend. He then started walking to exit the city. He was headed to the small workshop he had in Barton, but it would take a while with walking.

From the shadows of an alleyway, a pair of eyes were watching Arron and Talbot. Everywhere the mechanic went, the shadow of his stalker followed close behind, but well hidden. The only indication that anyone was even there would be the feeling of being watched and followed that likely lingered. As they made their way to Barton, the one following the two of them still did not cease.

At times, Arron would look around. He did not like the feeling of being watched. The pair were almost to Barton before he stopped & turned around. "...Okay wh-who's there?" he asked to the air.

There was no reply but silence for a time. However, silence gave way to a low growl, and then eyes flashed dangerously as their owner crept into sight. It was an enormous golden lion with fierce blue eyes and an elegant mane, and it had its gaze trained on Arron and the one he carried.

Arron stood still, dumbfounded, confused & having the biggest shock of the day. "Oh my stars." he said quietly. He looked at Talbot & then the lion. "...At-Atticus..?" he asked quietly.

The giant beast's ears twitched at the name, and his growling subsided for a moment as he gave Arron a look of silent curiosity. He kept his distance, but regarded Talbot and grunted. It was clear that the name meant something to him, and he understood it. However, his trust was more difficult to earn than simply knowing his name.

He paused. Arron slowly sat down & gently let Talbot down onto the ground. "He's okay... I'm n-not going to hurt him or-or you..." he said softly. The last thing Arron wanted was to be eaten by a lion. He would rather deal with the mistress than be eaten by Atticus.

The lion stared at Arron for a little while before he slowly approached. Once he'd gotten in range of Talbot, he sniffed at him, then started to nudge the unconscious slave with his nose. Upon getting no response initially, he growled in the young man's ear, then rolled him over with one of his enormous paws. After still no response, the lion slid his head under Talbot's stomach and guided him up onto his back. He gave Arron a glance, then began to walk off with the slave.

The mechanic's mouth dropped as he watched the lion kidnap his friend. The day kept getting stranger, for the man. He started to follow. "Hey w-wait where are you going?" he said in vain, knowing that the beast could not speak.

The lion merely gave a short growl in response as he kept walking. His tail swished back and forth as his mighty legs propelled him forward. For some reason, he didn't seem to mind Arron's presence like he had initially. The situation must have appeared bad before, since Arron was carrying an unconscious Talbot with him away from Durem.

"We've been on this planet for about three years now & a lot of crazy s**t has happened... but this one takes the cake & smashes it on the ground." he heard Lyth say in his head.
Arron just followed, hoping that Talbot would not panic once he was awake.
