Kanti’s ears lay back on her head, her teeth bared in a snarl as she fought back whimpers of pain. “I…yes…Sanoskue get out,” she growled between gasps as her body shuddered. “You…you don’t need…to see this…”

Sanoskue looked at her, concerned, "But I want to be here when our pups are born, I want to see their first seconds in this world, as unglamorous as it may be."

Kanti yelped and shuddered again. “Fine,” she snapped. “But keep out of my way!” She didn’t mean to sound so nasty to her mate, but her body was screaming at her, cursing her. Much as she wanted to only be kind to Sanoskue, now her patience was short and it shortened her temper even more.

Sanoskue wimpered a bit when she yelled at him, he was only trying to be a good mate and father right now.

It seemed to go on for forever, but really it was only a few hours. Kanti lay sprawled on her side, panting heavily. A few tiny, squeaking bundles of fur were pressed against her belly. “Sanoskue,” she panted. “Come see your pups.”

Sanoskue walked over and grinned at her, licking her muzzle, "Their our pups, and thier beautiful." He said as he watched them.

Kanti smiled softly and laid her head back on the floor, still trying to catch her breath. “How many boys, and how many girls?” she asked softly, not having the energy to look for herself.

“What should we name them?” Kanti asked, looking up at her mate.

"I don't know, mabey we should let them grow a bit, see what their personalities are...unless you have some ideas." He said smiling down at Kanti.

“Letting them grow a little, that sounds good…” Kanti yawned and shook her head. “Lay down with me Sanoskue, please?”

"Sure." Sanoskue said, laying down next to Kanti and snuggling up against her, wrapping his tail around where thier pups where protectivly.

Kanti sighed happily and rested her head on Sanoskue’s paws, smiling down at the pups at her belly that had already fallen asleep. “They’re so tiny,” she said softly.

"I wonder who they'll take more after, me or you." He said resting his head ontop of hers.

Kanti licked Sanoskue’s muzzle. “We’ll just have to find out,” she said before drifting off to sleep, exhausted.
