Tam arrives home a few minutes later, tip toeing into the cottage so as to not wake anyone. He carefully removes his hat and goes to the kitchen, pulling down the first aid kit and diggin aroun in it in the dark for something he knows should be there.

He finds a vial and opens it, pouring something into his palm and then goes to get some water. It appears he's taking some form of medicine. He bumps into something, swears under his breath then gulps the item down, washing it down with the water. He staggers back to the living room, half tripping over Hopian and gasps in alarm.

Tam blinks at him. "A... a pain killer... why?" he stammers in a slightly slurred voice. He pulls away and staggers to his chair, sitting down with extreme care. He is favoring his broken wing.

Tam shrugs. "Looking for someone." he replies evasively. He rubs his arm, the one on the side with the broken wing and sighs. "Hope... that legend of your... if I got you in contact with a mamp maker, do you think you could help her pin point it's location with some degree of accuracy... I don't want my people running into your people if they can help it. I have a feeling they wouldn't be too happy with us being there."

Tam pushes his hair behind his hear and sighs. "I've been to see one of my contacts... a couple years ago a nest of blood suckers found it's way into the area... I... I thought I could handle it on my own... but I couldn't... got myself pretty messed up in the process... I got away and got help... we got the nest but it was determined that one or two got away, so even though I'm officially on a hiatus, my superiors refuse to leave me unguarded. I was out trying to find the one who's covering my back... and fell flat on me face climbing over a fallen tree."

Okay then...the oasis is located in almost the exact center of the desert...I can point it out to you on any map, including my own, of our desert home. Don't bother trying to avoid my kin, you will fail, and make them even more suspicious. Be open, present yourselves to the first tribe you find, and explain your mission. Both vampire and normal miners despise the oasis, so you will probably be allowed to pass, as long as you are polite.
Now, about your little excursion...

A look at Tam's face makes him wonder if he really should push it just yet. The bard's eyes are at half mast. Whatever that pain killer was it was truly a powerful one.

Tam mumbles something unintelligible and is soon sawing logs. Only then does Hopian notice that the splint on the wing has been compromised, probably during the fall. No wonder Tam was in pain. It is bending his wing in an unusual position.

Shar examines the splint and frowns. "We need to cut it away, but if we do it right, we can reuse it. It won't be as strong as it was... he'll have to be more careful. Still, it is far lighter than anything I could whip up. I need to retrieve a pot of glue that's in my workshop. Where's Kero? He'll know what glue I'm talking about. It's a resin based compound."
