The walk back to the cottage is uneventful, the night air, crisp and cool. So they make the trip as quickly as they can, so that Hopian doesn't get too cold.
"What kind of feathers were they, do ye know?" asks Shar as they come up to the front door.

They resemble mine, but seem to be much, much stronger...mine are soft...have to be, to hold the charges they do...Tam's seem to be stiffer, for power flapping...mine are designed for gliding..I use thermals from storms to get into the air...

I thought you were referring to the feathers he shed from his own wings...no, the chicken feathers are still there, unless Fortuny cleaned them up already...feel free to use them...

Shar breathes a sigh of relief, not sure what would happen to one of her masks should she use the feathers of such a primal creation in one.

Shar looks inside and seeing the feathers, still present but swept to one side, she begins to gather them up, using the basket Tam had dumped them out of to place them in.
"I'll get these out of here and ye can breathe freely then." she says with a grin. "Ye know... it's reallynot the feathers that bother you. it's the dander..."

Shar scoops up the last feather, tucks it inside the basket and freezes. "Hopian, didn't you say that Fortuny would probably have these cleaned up by now. I wonder where she is? You don't think something is wrong, do you?"

Shar nods slowly, pulling a handkerchief from her sleeve to cover the basket. "Very well, thanks for the feathers, Hopian. I'll make a mask just fer ye... never ye fear." She bids him farewell and hurries back to the temple complex, eager to get to work.
