"Bussed off?" she echoes worriedly. "He's not trying to fly on those wings of his is he? There is no way they are healed enough to withstand that."

*Hopian shakes his head*
Slang among my people for left....the order to "Buzz off" is one often given to annoying lions who insist on hanging around, like the sandflies that somehow always manage to get into our underground city.

"Ahhh..." says Shar with a relieved nod. "That is nice. Someone said they thought they saw Kero around the cottage today. Is... is he ok now?"

*Hopian nods*
Yep...and we're having a party for him later on...to celebrate his emergence as an adult miner. He is still a teenager...but now he is bodily an adult miner, Shar...and that, among my kind, is cause for a celebration. Just keep it secret,okay...we're going to surprise him...

We haven't set a date yet...but we do know it's going to be at the inn, or at John's barn...you'd have to talk to Tam when Kero isn't around...

Mica nods with a g rin. "And so I shall. Tell me, is it appropriate to give a gift to one who has cross that thresh hold in life?"

*Hopian nods*
Don't worry about the three traditional gifts...I've got those covered....collar, bracelets, and tail-spiral, all safely squirreled away into my pack. Give him something he'll like....wine might be a good choice, or a sweet liquer. Any faulty crystals would be good, or anything you think he'll like.

*Hopian looks at Mica like he's a moron*
You have seen how voraciously Kero reads, and yet you ask that...the only stupid question may be the one unasked, but that comes in a close second...

Mica smiles tolerantly at him and shakes his head. "I asked only in that the book I wish to give him is priceless. It is no mere book meant for reading."

Who wrote it, and what's it about?

Mica smiles at him. "It is a book of music written by this ancient bard. An original handcopy, if I remember correctly. Probably the first rendition of Tam Lin, I believe."

If Tam doesn't turn green with envy, I'll give you ten golden coins....that's a perfect gift, if you can bear to part with it.

Mica chuckles and shakes his head. "As he wrote it, I doubt Tam will say much about it at all, except that he was once extremely maudlin. As for parting with it. I collect old books, true... but mostly about magic. I recently found this is a crate of items sent to me by a friend ages ago. Serendipity, I suppose. Why else would I have gone through it again, if not so I could f ind it and give it to him."
