"Yes, but barely." Minty admitted, still grinning, even wider, if possible. She opened her mouth to say something else, but whatever it had been was lost in a squeal of delight as Phantom raised the challenge of the steps. The dancers they passed watched in wonder and then shuffled off to the corner of the floor, clearly outclassed by the whirling skirts. The chilly air against Minty's hot face was welcome, and hopefully not to perturbing to the other guests. (Yes. I aaaaaaaam. Why don't more people dance with Minty? scream Probably my own fault xD You're totally rocking my ballroom dance writer's heart <3)

Why don't more people dance with Minty? scream Probably my own fault xD You're totally rocking my ballroom dance writer's heart <3) Abruptly, she slowed until you and she were just barely moving. The motion was so unexpected that the only thing that kept you from stumbling was the Phantom's steady grip. Her face feigned concern, "Goodness me, was I going to fast during that last bit?" Compared to the whirling speed from before, the Phantom's current pace was a mere crawl that nearly bordered on torture. "We could continue at this rate if you would like?"
(( I think the clear solution to your problem is to forcibly detain someone and drag them onto the ballroom floor for a dance ))

...and then it all slowed down. Torture. Agony. Generalized Non-Specific Pain. Minty gave Phantom the saddest puppy dog eyes she could muster: "You're only teasing, right?" (Yes. I shall start conscripting random party goers xD ARRON. HOW WELL DO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE. CAN YOU BEAT PHANTOM? LET'S FIND OUT. -steals kate's dance partner- Somehow I don't see that working xD)

LET'S FIND OUT. -steals kate's dance partner- Somehow I don't see that working xD) Seeing your expression, the Phantom caved in and laughed. In answer, she began to speed up the dance. Moments later, you and she were a fast twirl of black and red along the dance floor once again. Rather than converse, she led you in an intricate combination of quick turns in a five step tango. If there was a misstep along the way, she would flow into as if it were nothing more than an elegant creative twist.
The time flew by as quick as the pace of the dance and the music finally reached a diminuendo and ended. Although the song had ended, the Phantom took her time to ease the dance to a stop before releasing you from her hold. Her form faded back into transparency as she floated back a half step and presented you with a bow.
(( Pish posh. I think that would work perfectly. You should go do that right now ~nods~ ))

Minty place her hand upon her chest, panting and smiling. She finally recovered enough to give Phantom to return the bow with a shallow curtsy. "Thank you for the dance, my dear Phantom." She managed between breaths, "You certainly know how to cut a rug. I'm glad I got the opportunity." (I think the ball was meant to be over tonight? I am unsure. If that is so, however, I shall have to assault Arron into a dance at the very next opportunity. And Phantom. Do not dare think I'm not going to try and have Minty and Phantom dance again. And I think Astraeus owes her one too for covering her in glitter. Yes? yes.)

The phrase is oddly familiar. Idioms are terribly difficult to keep track of." She fell to your side and began to walk with you off the dance floor.
(( I haven't a clue as to when this ball is supposed to end. Time will tell, I suppose. So many people! You might as well have a dance card at this point ))

"Yes, you know...to dance?" Gaia was one of those places Minty could never remember if she was spouting anachronisms or genuinely confusing the other residents, "Usually reserved for a vigorous style of dancing." She was slowly catching her breath as Phantom escorted them off the dance floor. (Is it a dance card when the other participants are not given a choice? Maybe more of a dance hit list. xD)

OOC: Actually Minty, I was thinking of letting the event go on until people become sick of it. XD
* * * Listen up, everyone! Our new contest will be a page contest~ So says me. ^^ The first person to post on page 40 will get a secret surprise! Jessie looked at her sympathetically. "Being teased is the worst. I know what that's like a bit, myself." Her eyes trailed off a moment in thought, but bounced quickly back to Gigi. "Kids just like to make fun of anything that's different, but once you're grown, it's like all anyone wants to be is different, and you don't even have to try." She smiled reassuringly. "Your differences are what make you unique." She was a little surprised that what did the trick, more than her little pep talk, was actually the mention of her ribbon dancer toy. Jessie's eyes widened a little at her reaction, then smiled warmly. "It's a great toy. It's based off the ribbon routines performed in gymnastics. Only I never had lessons, and the ribbon is really long... I usually just twirled around till I tied myself up like a mummy by accident."

(( Omg, a dance hit list. That should be an actual thing ))

"I...honestly have no idea." Minty shrugged, allowing herself to be lead again to the balcony. Phantom's supernatural cool had done wonders during the tango, but there was just something about the summer night air and stars that was so refreshing, "I just like how it sounds so I, at least, keep saying it." (Minty: Dance Assassin. But only if her theme song is Smooth Criminal. Because MJ seems like the perfect soundtrack for a dance assassin.)

The prince watched as the ladies went off to dance, deciding to enjoy the cooler night air a little while longer before joining in with the dancers once again. As he gazed through the doorway, he was reminded of the balls back home. It had been awhile since they had hosted one. A blur of red hair revealed that Lucky was back on refilling dishes and mingling with others. As she passed near the doorway, he could have sworn he saw her lips shaping the words of "caterer" and "flaming reviews". He smiled nostalgically. Hopefully they could start having gatherings like this again soon.
((Sorry for the sudden poof, guys! Stuff came up irl that I had to deal with, but redhead and her brother are back!))

She seemed mildly disappointed by your uncertainty, "I try to adapt as much as I can as the language of the Living changes. It can be tedious at times."
(( That song definitely fits well. None shall escape your dance spree! )) Starlight Princess Lucky The prince watched as the ladies went off to dance, deciding to enjoy the cooler night air a little while longer before joining in with the dancers once again. "Well, you could always use 'cut a rug' anyways and if anyone calls you on it, say you heard Minty using it so it must be cool. Then if they don't get that pun, you'll know that they clearly have no appreciation for a clever turn of phrase." She chattered, still flush in the face and feeling energy high from the dance. "Oh! Hello again. Sorry we danced off on you. I didn't give you a chance to answer my question: which of the three names you gave do you prefer to be called? I could use all three, but I might feel rather like your mother scolding you." Minty waved as Phantom lead them towards the Prince, "Do you dance? Because if you do I have already decided that you owe me one. I am completely covered in glitter from your jacket. If you don't dance, that's alright. I actually don't mind the glitter that much." Good gravy. No one offer Minty any sugar. (-insert evil dance laugh here-)

As the two reappeared on the balcony, the prince began to greet them in kind... ...Only to be interrupted by Minty. He paused, trying to process all of the questions that were just hurled his way. At first he wondered if she might have found a particularly strong chocolate espresso cupcake, but at the flush of her cheeks began to reconsider that it might have been an adrenaline rush from dancing. He returned the greeting to the ladies with a nod of his own head before responding. "Think nothing of it- a ball it meant for dancing. As for your question, I am perfectly fine with any of the three, though Astraeus is my name first and foremost." He chuckled at the comment of the glitter. "Technically it is stardust- the power of stars in solid form," he replied, "I do dance however, and I would be happy to oblige, if it is alright with our dear Phantom?"
