The morning started off pretty typical as usual. It mostly consisted of Emi making a quick breakfast for her and Bunta, although today she decided to take a quick trip to the library. It was Thanksgiving so she wanted to buy a few cookbooks so she could prep for dinner tonight! It was going to be more exciting this time because she was finally going to meet Mama's girlfriend! He mentioned her, of course, plenty of times but Emi never really got to meet the girl face-to-face. She actually had a chance to the day prior, but missed out on such an opportunity. Not tonight, though! The little mute planned on prepping a big ol' feast to welcome her. It sucked her father couldn't make the plane trip over here, though. He usually did, but since her grandmother was feeling ill, he had to stay over to care for her. She was pretty sure they would be able to talk via Factime or Skype of something.
After a few moments of browsing around the different aisles of books, Emi snagged a few cookbooks as well as one on baking since today definitely deserved something sweet other than cupcakes. She was going to try her hand at making a pumpkin cheesecake instead of a pie. It seemed more "fancy" than the traditional route. As she got the books checked out, Emi reached into her purse to text Mama the next set of plans. [ I got the goods! We should probably head to the grocery store on the way home, though. I think I forgot to grab a few things last time sweatdrop ] The two planned on meeting up so they could get dinner and stuff set up before Val had arrived.

Maybe it was the fact that today she would be celebrating a new holiday or the fact that she was meeting Emi for the first time, yet the bohemian witch couldn’t help herself dancing in the passenger seat of the Thing as the two of them--her and her lover Isa flew down the road in the direction of Soleil's public library. Scrolling her finger along the screen of his phone, she tapped on the next song, Blue Letter by Fleetwood Mac, in his Spotify playlist (not that she made it or anything.)
As the guitar and Buckingham's voice started flowing into the airwaves, the witch’s body found its groove in it….the only thing that would make this better is....
“w górę idziesz” She mumbled as she twisted the knob on the radio all the way up to blast the music that was connected to the phone. Woah! The advancement of technology, who would have thought about it before? Not that Isa could bring himself to enjoy it, while driving. He has to be a straight edge when he is behind the wheel. Low music volume, eyes on the road, and no shenanigans of any kind (especially in the Thing). It was a total buzz killer most of the time. He had a bittersweet reason to be and the pinkette did not fault him once learning why he was so protective over everyone he loved. However, she was hoping that he would let her have her fun this one time.
And he did and as the song ended, there was a glittering dinging filling the silence in the car. The neo hippie leaned to take a look at his phone on the dashboard. “
It’s Baby Bear, Misiu. Do you want me to answer for you ?” she said, turning her head to Isa in the driver seat with a smirk on her. She was just dying to have this opportunity, though Isa would never let her down if she messed with the plan. He wanted this meeting between both of his girls to be special. She wasn’t supposed to be even here, picking up Emi, but it seems illogical to spend most of the day driving to and from multiple places when Emi had spent so much preparing their little feast.
“Fine. I will wait a bit longer” Val sighed, rolling her eyes, as she sat back in the seat.
“I really hope that she like m...my Paczki” Everyone loves fresh home-made doughnuts, right?

He wasn’t really sure why they were doing Thanksgiving so early, but apparently they were. Perhaps it was just as well, none of them grew up in America anyway, so why not do things their own way? Maybe? Ok he really didn’t know. Nonetheless he and Val were in the Thing heading down to the library to pick Emi up. His sweet baby had been so excited when they decided Val should join them for Thanksgiving that she had looked up all sorts of different recipes for them to try. It was a shame he didn’t actually eat. But at least his girls would enjoy it, and that was what mattered most to him. One of his girls already seemed to be enjoying herself quite a lot. Had they been in the Trabi the car would have shook just from the volume of the music, not to mention her frolicking in the back seat. He just shook his head when she jacked the music up, ”it’s fine since I’m driving,” he said quietly, though he might as well have mumbled it to himself. Were it just him in the car, the music would be louder, he’d be driving faster, and hell he might even do a thing or two on his phone, but the moment one of his girls was involved he went mom-with-the-minivan on them. Just as the song ended, Baby Bear’s ringtone went off (she picked it herself). ”No, I should answer it. She’s a perceptive little angel, she might notice something is up if you texted.” He gave the voice command (in German) to read the message and then respond. ”Ok, will be there soon to pick you up. Stay inside until Mama gets there, ok? Love you my little cherub.” That’s what he told the phone to reply, but of course it had to change a word or two because he failed to say it with zero accent and there were noises around too. At least it was close enough that she’d get the message. ”If it is sweet, there is a good chance she will like them. I think all of her teeth are sweet teeth.” Though his voice betrayed no emotion and all sense of inflections had long since passed, he had genuinely made a joke, even if it was a lame one. Perhaps they were starting to revivify him?
All of the parking on the library side of the street was taken, which perturbed him, but he could sneakily lead Val across the road and then escort them both back, right? Wasn’t like people drove super fast around here.

Hearing her phone ding with a new notification, Emi peered down to the phone's lit screen to read the upcoming message from Mama. Good! He was on the way. In response, Emi just sent a little gif of a anime styled bunny with a heart over top its head. With each passing moment, the pink mute's excitement would grow little by little. "I hope she likes the dinner we'll make. I can't wait!" The little cherub thought as she nearly started bouncing in place. As a few minutes passed, Emi grew a bit impatient like the little delighted child she was. How far was he again? Maybe he was already outside! While he told her to wait inside she just simply couldn't keep still. What if he was already sitting in his car outside? Wouldn't it have been easier for her to just quickly hop in so they could go to the grocery store and then head home? He didn't have to escort her from the building to the car ALL the time. They were on a time crunch! Emi wanted enough time to make sure that dinner was perfect for their guest for tonight.
Pushing through the large and heavy wooden doors of the library, Emi ventured out on the sidewalk scanning the area for Mama's car. After some slight wandering around the building, crimson eyes caught sight of a familiar dark form. But wait... there was someone else with him! Wearing a very fashionable outfit with pink hair decorated with braids... was it her? Val! There was always an image she had in her mind about how Isa's girlfriend would look, but finally seeing her in person just put the pieces together beautifully. Emi wanted so badly to greet her face-to-face, but a crosswalk was in the middle of her way. Nearly bouncing in the heels of her boots, the girl waited what seemed like forever for the crosswalk signs to light up with the walking figure. The second she got the green light, the pink cherub scurried her way over.
She was so focused on the reaching the couple that she hadn't even realized the large truck speeding down the street. The driver seemed distracted on their phone, not paying any attention to the traffic light at the bottom of the hill being on red. It wasn't until the very last second that the driver actually looked up and panicked, blaring down on his horn. It was too late to swerve out the way or he'd flip over. He just hopped and prayed that Emi would be able to dodge in time. The truck's horn screaming loudly snapped the mute from her focused gaze and onto the large vehicle steam rolling towards her. The truck was going WAY too fast for her to react physically in time. "Oh no...! Isa's locket!" The only thought in her mind was to throw Isa's phylactery towards Val in hopes that he'd be spared. If she was going to get squashed by the truck, she didn't want him going with her.
