Hakem counted Tyrese out of the plans to go out for a moment there, biting his inner lip and replacing the top to the free food as Victoria complained about the female who brought it. "What she was waiting on was a certain seemingly single book author to walk by, so she could get his life story...or 'something.' " He replied, plugging in the coffee pot and filling the filter with water. He added the second filter full of his coffee grinds and started the small machine. "You were just stopping her from doing that. I believe the term is 'c**k blocking?' Hm?" He chuckled, drumming his fingers on the counter as the first precious whiffs of caffeine filled the air. The male went looking for a mug in anticipation.
"Aha, now there's an idea." Hakem observed towards his fiance, returning to the counter with his mug. "Alcohol and glowing seaweed during a walk on the beach." The latter of which would be reserved for Tori and himself. He glanced at his nephew for his opinion. nodding as Ty admitted he had a convenient ally in that category. That was perfect, everyone could go, assuming there was a babysitter to be hired for Sela. "Then it's final." He turned, pouring himself a cup at last and pushing the steaming liquid to his lips. Mmmhm, that was the ticket there. Good grace was he addicted to this stuff, it just tasted so good. If he tried to quit now, he'd go into withdraw before the end of the day.
Noticing Tori turn to look at him, he blinked back at her and glanced at Tyrese. What? Did he miss something? Hakem looked at Victoria again, moving to give Ty access to the oven. Okay, he missed something. Then Sela came silently around the corner, cutting off whatever the ginger had been ready to say. The bluenette took another sip of his drink, sliding over to the bar and climbing into a seat. "Ah, thanks. I'm starving.' He breathed as he was served a portion of soup. It didn't smell bad at all, and since Ty was feeding it to his kid there was no way it was drugged or poisoned. Hakem put his cup down and sipped the broth first. Yeah, it would do since meat seemed to be the main ingredient. He'd take dessert afterwards too, then finish off as much of the coffee pot as he could manage for the morning.

Tyrese caught the comments about Juliana from his aunt and uncle, nibbling his lip and sighing inwardly. What was he supposed to say and think? He didn't quite know the woman., although it felt nice to think he was being pursued for once. Maybe if he wasn't so emotionally distraught he'd at least flirt a little. He wasn't so sure how he was going to be handling himself mentally and emotionally on the other side of this situation. Rather, he pursed his lips and moved Sela's new friend to the far end of the table. It was still a filthy animal. "Sure I'll sit with you love." He replied, chuckling lowly at her coy squirming. He himself was a normal child until his first semester of kindergarten, it wasn't his natural personality to be shy. Actually he'd never been shy, he was introverted sure but that wasn't the same as shy. He only became so...miserable and grumpy whenever anyone spoke to him because one bad social experience lead to another and he found his mother was no ally at the end of the day. He'd gotten past that as well, after therapy, and was back to being a simple introvert.
Before sitting with his daughter, the wolf grabbed a plate and worked a ramekin onto it without burning himself. He plopped vanilla ice cream on the top and sat beside Sela. The letter crunched in his pocket until he shifted his weight and removed it, placing it under the salt shaker and taking the first bite of his desert. He'd much rather skip the soup and gobble on this. Before long his phone vibrated. He retrieved it with what he hoped was a calm demeanor. His heart still went into overdrive with the smallest flush of shame as well. He read the message, rubbing the back of his neck. And he'd been thinking about her way more than was appropriate, it wasn't like that though. He should reply like he had some semblance of consideration for her husband. Same concerning the inn. "Thanks. We'll be there @ the hour. Both u & Finn have a permanent room." He then looked at his aunt and uncle. "Let me call a sitter and we can leave whenever."

Sela blinked as she watched her daddy move her pet to the end of the table. She was happy that her daddy agreed to sit with her, but she wanted her new friend to sit with her too. Perhaps she should just be happy that her daddy had stopped ignoring her. Or, at least that’s what it’s felt like the last few days. He’s barely said anything, or done anything with her. Hardly any hugs and kisses; not like before. For now, she could settle for this; at least it was something. Kicking her feet, she bit into her lip as she picked up her spoon and looked over to the box where her one and only friend was currently housed. Tomorrow...She’d be without a friend again. Maybe she could ask her daddy to take her to the park one day. At least there, she had the potential to meet a friend.
Dropping her spoon into the soup, she was immediately aware of the change in her daddy’s facial expression as his phone made a noise. Blinking over at him as she pushed the spoon into her mouth, she looked at him curiously as she watched his face flush. “Daddy, why’s your face red?” she asked as she pulled the spoon from her lips. She wasn’t sure she’d ever seen her daddy’s face look like that before; well, not that she could remember anyways. Her curiosity quickly changed at the mention of a babysitter. That meant she was going to be left alone while her daddy left her...Again. The toddler looked back down at her bowl of soup and sighed softly. “I like Kassandra. She’s a nice lady,” she said as she brought another spoonful of soup to her mouth.

Victoria almost spewed what was in her mouth with a sudden laugh and stare of disbelief at her fiance. "Hakem, so help me if I hear the words "c**k block" from your mouth ever again, I may do exactly that to someone who deserves it." Did he seriously just say that? Those were words she hadn't expected - though maybe they were bound to come out at some point. She laughed again, settling her spoon down and watching him with a look of approval and an almost flirtatious wink. That was something she could get behind should he be feeling a little more... Bashful. She clicked her tongue against the roof of her mouth yet again, pondering over what they may be doing in the future. Hn. The spoon was lifted again to her lips, taking a small nibble of what was inside before pushing it into her mouth. The seaweed however, or... Kelp, maybe, was said to be beautiful, lighting up in blue spots as soon as the toes touched them. She had a feeling her fiance would find both beauty and enjoyment just as she would in the nature. And the so called 'cold'? Not a problem.
Hum... Hakem.. Her teal eyes trailed over him with both a curious, knowing, and analytic glance. "Besides. If you know that, then Tyrese, who was behind me at some point, could have come to the door and stopped me." She sipped on another edge of a spoonful. She perked slightly and looked from Hakem to Tyrese, blinking slowly. "I just need to shower and get some actual clothes on and I'll be ready. Is this more a laid back bar or one where I'm going to watch you both drink wine on the corner of it?"

Hakem lifted his gaze from his soup, alerted to the voice of his companion using his name. His brows hitched further along his facial features in curiosity, only to fall back into place as he laughed. He hunched his shoulders, quickly covering his mouth with his hand. The wolf never strayed from sitting with his back straight and shoulders back, as if good posture was required. He quickly took another bite from his spoon, deliberately blinking from the ginger's face and back to his bowl after seeing her wink. "Then please excuse my French, I wouldn't want to be the deserving person." He snuck in a reserved, innocent look from beneath his lashes as his lips hinted at a smile.
He then smirked at her, a look that said he'd gotten the checkmate. "Au contraire. A man won't flirt with one girl in front of another, regardless of relation to either woman." Even with a sibling, a wrong move was a sure way to get a elbow to the ribs and a roll of the eyes. He was getting a stare from his nephew probably signaling to shift subjects in front of the little one. "I'd like to change as well, I feel like I'm dressed like a tourist." It didn't matter what kind of bar it was otherwise, as long as there was a 'friend' owning the place. He'd noticed the flush the second time, eyeing the younger wolf as he sipped more of his coffee and finished his soup.

Tyrese rolled his eyes up to the ceiling, sighing silently before glaring down at his uncle. Takashi always had a troublesome nature in his opinion, he didn't know why since the man had yet to do anything wrong. In high school he was nothing more than a depressed slob for a short time, yet Tyrese felt the need to occasionally scold him. Maybe because the teacher was too smooth navigating through what seemed like any situation he got himself into. Tyrese didn't know much about him. Victoria was on a wave length all her own, spanning close enough to vibe with the males of the family. He didn't mind her. Together Hakem and Victoria were charismatic, he suspected they could make a fuss if they wanted. Instead they were mellow, although he wished now to move on from the general subject of flirting and interest in the opposite sex. Not completely for Sela's sake either.
He ruffled the hair of the toddler in question when she asked about his manner, putting his phone away and clearing his throat. "I'll see if Kassandra is available tonight. If not I'll get the next best thing." He'd already showered and wasn't in a mood to change. "I'm not sure what type of bar it is. My guess is casual." He wasn't going to ask right now. He tried finishing his plate past the hints of nausea playing in his stomach.

“Uncle Lysi!?” she asked rather excitedly as he ruffled her hair. To her, her uncle was the next best thing; he was family after all. She wished she knew what happened to uncle Kaito, since she hadn’t seen him in a while, but she’d ask her uncle next time she saw him. It wasn’t like her daddy would know. Her mommy always said that her uncle wasn’t particularly fond of her daddy. She didn’t know what that meant, she only assumed it wasn’t good given the tense words she heard exchanged between the two a few days ago. If anything, Sela wished she could go along with them, but she understood that if a babysitter was coming then they would be doing things only adults get to do. The girl pursed her lips in displeasure at the idea. She wanted to be a big girl and do things like they did! It wasn’t fair.

She laughed at the childish look. The one that whispered, I didn't do nothin'~ with his plum orbs lighting up at her. "Well then~." She pushed her close-to-empty bowl back and slid sideways from her chair. Her nightgown, a navy blue silk gown with black lace, slid along her shoulders and thighs as her ivory bare feet hit the cool ground. "If you boys will excuse me, I'm going to go get dressed." She padded slowly out of the kitchen, heading on back towards the room that Hakem and herself had acquired.
Once there, the door closed slightly behind her, her fingers already grabbing the edge of her gown before jerking it upward and over her head. Perhaps today she'd leave her hair down around her chest... Or not. The more she thought about it, the more she didn't want to do it. Regardless, she needed to actually get dressed. She dragged her fingers through her thin ginger hair, tugging strands upward and tying them up with the pony tail holder around her wrist; though few bangs and hairs made their way to caress her cheeks and face - going unnoticed by Victoria herself. She slipped a black bra from her suitcase, strapping it around her chest before pulling the straps up around her shoulders. She could get used to this! The house almost reminded her of her parent's house. A small rumble played itself across her chest, eyebrows pulling in. Mom... She missed her mother.. And although it was rare, she did fall into spells where she had to wonder where her mother was now. She swallowed, the shirt in her fingers being worked and kneaded along the fabric before she shook her head and slipped the sea green item over her head.

Hakem took the mostly empty bowl, stacking it in his as he watched Tori leave the kitchen. He then grunted, getting out of his seat and taking their dishes to the sink. Knowing Tyrese he'd get angry if they didn't wash their dishes and clean up after themselves. Who wouldn't get angry? So Hakem washed out their bowels and spoons and his mug, storing his unfinished coffee in the fridge before shuffling off upstairs to the same destination as the red head. Tomorrow for sure he'd get the story out of Tyrese, he wanted to know what was going on. So far he figured Ty'd been hit up with child support over a daughter he hadn't known about. He assumed Ty didn't know about her because he had a panic attack over the child being sick, the man was not an experienced father. Even so it was Ty they were talking about, Hakem never got the impression he'd act in a way that would land him with an illegitimate child. Tyrese always seemed morally sound and self righteous to a fault. Perhaps he didn't know his nephew well after all?
Walking into their assigned guest room, Hakem closed the door behind him while the thoughtful look remained on his face. Ah well, either way he had a new niece in his life. He wasn't very involved with nieces and nephews as compared to brothers and sisters, whom he talked to and visited regularly. In his opinion it was nice for Victoria as well, to be around so many warmhearted people who were accepting her so well. Hakem scratched his head and flopped stomach down on the mattress, folding his arms beneath his chin and turning on his ipod to listen to the music until the wife-to- be was out of the shower or at least finished changing. Jazz hummed away in his ears as he closed his eyes and relaxed.

Tyrese looked down at Sela sympathetically, "I don't have your uncle Lysander's phone number baby. You'd have to make due with someone else if Kassandra doesn't answer.' He informed, letting the two other adults leave before removing his desert from in front of himself. It was passed to Sela as Ty got up for a glass of water with less than half of the cobbler consumed. He didn't want to lose it, trying to wash it back down to the pit of his stomach with the liquid in his hands. He waited a moment before turning back to his kid, "Daddy had an eye dropper so you can give your friend some water. I'll get him some food too. Just finish up your food and go watch tv for a while, alright? He added, already texting the sitter so he could hopefully hear back from her in time. He had to send his address too since she'd be watching Sela here this time. She was a nice woman he was sure, Sela never complained when he picked her up in the afternoons in time prior. For now he walked to the bathroom for the dropper so he could be ready to leave with his aunt and uncle.

Sela looked back down at her food with a solemn look. She was kind of excited to think that she’d get to spend time with her uncle again since it was rare that she ever got too. Why, she had no clue. Maybe it was because her and mommy were always so busy doing things. Her uncles were usually busy too; they both had jobs that kept them as away, if not more so, than her mommy’s did. At least she got to see them for her birthday and holidays. Her birthday! It was almost time for her birthday right?! His words practically going unheard by the toddler as she began to get excited thinking about her birthday. What would they be doing for her birthday? Would there be a big party with her mommy and daddy? She sure hoped so!
Her attention was grabbed by the sound of something being slid over to her. Looking down at the table, she stared at the ceramic bowl put in front of her. Tearing her gaze away from the food, she looked up and him and nodded rather happily. “Alright daddy!” she replied. She’d finish her food, then feed her pet before taking it to go watch T.V. with her. When Kassandra got here, then she’d go back outside. Oh! Maybe she could ask if she could be invited to her birthday too. She really did like Kassandra. Swinging her feet, she smiled to herself and continued eating her lunch before moving onto the dessert her daddy had given her.
“Sure! I can definitely watch Sela for you. I’ll be there in thirty minutes.”

Tori pulled on a dark wash pair of skinny jeans, pulling out the few strands of her ponytail that caught into her collar and brushed against her back. It didn't take her long to hover over the sink, snatching up her toothbrush to get rid of the old, soupy taste in her mouth. She shouldn't have eaten without brushing her teeth - she always hated the feeling afterward, but at that rate, everyone else was up too. Once finished, she splashed water on her face, drying it off with a towel and exiting the bathroom. She could do the rest out here with her small mirror... So she'd let Hakem have the room from that point on. Slowly she made her way to him, throwing herself down on her stomach. Though it may happen more often than she realized, she enjoyed being nestled a foot or so away from him. And when on occasion - as she was about to do now - she'd lean her head over against his shoulder as she rolled onto her back, feeling the warmth radiate off of him and onto her pressed cheek. Her eyes closed, a long exhale coming from her flared nostrils. It was nice... Being able to be somewhere new without running herself in circles trying to find something to do when she did get the urge.
She inhaled, turning her head blindly his way. Her eyelids partially slid back open, looking at nothing in particular. If he wanted to get up, he could, she had no qualms against it - she simply enjoyed the occasional curl along his side; a snuggle of her head. A hand shifted upward, gently brushing her orange strands away from the front of her head and feeling them fall along her temples and ears. At least until he was ready she could relax in quiet - granted the Tyrese's kid didn't start screaming and throwing a damn fit.

Hakem shifted with the mattress as it gave way to a second person, lifting his head and directing his gaze to his fiance. Dressed already, it must be his turn to get ready. For now he turned and lowered his music, sighed quietly, and stayed in place for several minutes while his favorite song played. It was ironic he liked Moonlight Sonata so much, or so he thought given the name; he even knew how to play it on the piano, and would occasionally do so on Victoria's instrument. Goodness, he couldn't even remember when he first learned how to play the piano. During college, maybe? He was the type of person who liked to learn, it didn't matter what it was so long as it filled his time; he hadn't slown down in recent years either. He was a Jack of all trades so far, since the woman let him have his quirks. His current interest lied in Aaron's hobby of building and painting model cars, Aaron wasn't so quick to let Hakem around his work bench even when Hakem harassed him about it.
Looking at Victoria again the wolf climbed to his elbows and leaned over to kiss her, lifting her chin an inch to reach his mouth. He then removed his lips for a heartbeat, letting her brush her hair aside before lifting her shirt to his nose to sniff at it. He had to feel satisfied with her scent before they left the house! She passed for now. Hakem then kissed her again, afterwards releasing her shirt and getting out of bed. There was no need to break a comfortable silence. He changed his denim and added plaid over his graphic tee, slipping into his shoes and padding into the bathroom to fix his hair. It needed a fast once over and he was done, coming out to see if Tori was ready like himself.

Tyrese returned with a dropper half full of water, walking to one of his potted plants and picking a small portion at the roots. He cut them and put them in a baggy, only half hoping the vole wasn't so stressed it would refuse to eat and drink. With his little feeding supplies in hand, Ty jogged to the informal living room on the second floor and turned on the tv for Sela. He placed the supplies down, leaving the toddler to find her own way here so he could pack Alistair's tank in the car. It was about time he get Aubrey her pet back to her. Besides, he disliked working with live grubs to feed it. The wolf lifted out the reptile and anything that could spill, putting them in the small pet carrier before carrying the tank to his garage. In it fit into the trunk where it was closed in, assuring no seat space was taken up for his aunt and uncle. Ty assumed he was going to be the designated driver and would need to go easy on the alcohol. He returned inside for the pet and his wallet, checking his phone once he was waiting downstairs for Kassandra and the other adults.
