Midna was getting more and more used to the Light Realm, enabling her to pop out of the ground in indirect light. "Insolent little-" she began to mutter. "If it wasn't for me, he'd be languishing in the dungeon- or he'd already have his head cut off! It wouldn't kill him to be a little grateful."

"Now, now," Zelda chided. "You're the one that made him mad, so you can't really complain. Your Majesty," she teased. "Just lay up a little. You're piling a lot on him- he's my age, remember. You can't expect him to live up to the legends, hm?"

"Don't call me Your Majesty," Midna grumbled. Truth me told, she was worried about Link- she was just too mad to show it.

Link shimmied rather ungracefully towards the large rock, taking care not to jostle his arm too much. After a few moments of humiliating wriggling, Link was stretched out across the boulder rather haphazardly. He sighed and glanced at Midna, who seemed eternally delighted with his suffering. "If any of you decide that this scenario is funny, I can promise you that it's not nearly as funny from a first person perspective."

Midna stuck her tongue out. "You're the one wearing a skirt!"

Zelda closed her eyes. Midna was clearly in no better mood than when she had woken up. She was probably still mad about her body. All she needed was a good fight in which she could actually partake in. Or maybe some space.

"And you're the one who believes I'll save the world." Link retorted, sticking his tongue right back at Midna. "Now what does that say about your Legendary Hero criteria?" he added wriggling around on the rock as he waited for Andarlo to return with (hopefully) a way to fix his arm.

Coremean sat next to Link. He was anxious. "I'm sorry Link... I probably hurt you while pulling so slowly..." He hung his head. It had looked and sounded like it hurt a lot.

Andarlo walked back to where he had left Link eagle-spread on the boulder with his arm dangling useless. "Alright, Link I am going to tie this pouch filled with rocks to your arm. This is the most painless way to get your arm back in its right position." Andarlo bent over and tied the pouch tight enough so it didn't fall off. "Now Link I want you to stay like this for a little bit. Here's what is going to happen. Basically we're letting the weight of the rocks to gently pull your arm down. It shouldn't cause you too much pain." Andarlo said as he sat down in the cool grass.

"Honestly? I'm not sure if I believe any of the damn legends anymore," Midna retorted. "Either that or you aren't living up to your descendants. But it's not my world that'll be sucked into Twilight! It's yours!" Her voice was getting a little louder now. "Me? I'd go back home if I could! You think I like being stuck as a shadow?" Without another word she whirled around and sunk into some other shadow, refusing to come out.

Zelda sighed. "I know you can hear me," she said. She knelt next to Link. She hated being the mediator. "I know she's acting like a little kid, but... she's as mad as you are. She cares about the kids, but, and don't take this the wrong way, she knows what she's saying when she said they're safe. Humans can't be hurt in the Twilight. Normal ones, anyway." She paused for a moment. "She's just... having a really bad day. Zant really messed things up for her." That was all she could say without revealing Midna's true identity.

Link bit down on his lip, hard, in an effort not to yelp at the slight touches his arm was receiving and to keep himself from biting back at Midna. He sighed with resignation as the princess tried her best to explain things to him. "Yeah, yeah. Anyway, the sooner my arm is fixed the better," he mumbled, looking over at the pouting Coremean. "Hey, no worries, buddy. You're pretty strong for one your size! Just wondering, how old are you?" he asked, suddenly aware of the fact that he seemed much younger than the rest of their tiny pack of humans.

Midna fumed in the shadows. "Stupid Link... see if I care! I oughta toss you to Zant. Let him deal with you." She had a sudden longing to see her cousin again. But she wanted the throne back more. But would this whiny teen be strong enough to help? Maybe... she'd test him. See how he got through Faron Woods, and got the first Fused Shadow. Then maybe she'd tell him more. But at the moment... well, she was the only Twilight creature outside the Twilight, meaning she was the only one who could let Link into the Twilight. He'd have to beg for her help. She grinned at the thought.

At Link's words, Coremean shifted a little bit. "Er... I'm 16... I know I don't look like it, but I am." His age was always a forbidden topic to him. He looked several years younger than he actually was, so people kept mistaking him for a lost boy. Of course, that only pissed him off.

Zelda turned to Coremean and smiled. "You're pretty brave for 16. I'm only a little older than you, but you'd never see me leaping onto Zant's helmet." She wasn't trying to treat Coremean like a child in the slightest. Part of her wanted to make friends with him, at least, and the other part wanted to assure him he wasn't the only one people sometimes treated as a child.

Coremean snickered at the mention of his suicidal attempt to distract Zant. It had been dangerous, but it was kind of like trying to tame a horse. It was both easy and hard at the same time. "Thanks princess." He smiled happily at Zelda, but turned to Link and watched anxiously as Andarlo administered first aid on Link.

Midna popped up out of the ground. "You jumped on Zant's helmet? And you're still alive? Now I'm impressed. She cast a glance in Link's direction. "At least you managed to escape unscathed, unlike some people. She flashed her pointy teeth. "Maybe you could learn something from him, huh, Link?"

Zelda closed her eyes. Midna was at it again. She didn't stop, which meant she was still mad. She had that twinkle in her eye again...

Rayne watched the entire thing with a small smile. Not that that he thought Link dislocating his arm was funny, but Link had impressed him. He could probably take on everyone who call themselves a 'Royal Knight of Hyrule' and walk out relatively unscathed. Well, anyone who could take on a bunch of cowards... Rayne scowled at the thought. "I don't know... You try charging a giant pig and falling without coming out unscathed," he mumbled angrily. She would have a dagger in her chest if she had a physical body.
