"Don't worry...if he comes back I'll protect you...I wish I could have gotten there fast enough to save Hiskue...just like we were both to slow to save my sister." He pulled a deployable shovel out of his pack and began to dig a grave, far enough from the water that it wouldn't wear away after time passed. "I'm Sanoskue by the way, Hiskue and I used to be best friends several years ago, he dated my sister."

Sanoskue got the grave half dug and paused, pulling out a bottle of water and drinking it quickly, then he pulled out a ciggarette, lit it with a match, and took a puff, then went back to digging. It had been hard to get the ciggarettes, but he felt it was worth it.

rose looked at sanoskue as he dug the grave then returned to look at the water.she reached into her bag and pulled out a golden flute,she brought it to her lips and played a song of parting she played after she buried her parents.

Sanoskue paused again, leaning against the shovel he looked towards Rose smiling weakly, "Thats beautiful."

rose stopped playing and turned to look at sanoskue."it's song of parting i played after my parents died."rose looked at the flute then back at sanoskue."it's the least i can do for his spirit."

Sanoskue nodded, "I can feel it, that song has power. I'm sure his passage to the next world will be peaceful and he shall be waiting for us there."

Sanoskue flicked the stub of his ciggerette into the river, then started digging again.

The grave was finished and Sanoskue climbed out. He walked over to the river, kicked off he shoes, sat on a rock, and let the cold water run over his paws.

rose walked into the water the water went to her waist,she dipped her hands into the water and splashed water on her face,she then looked back at the sky.

Sanoskue watched as a fish swam past his paws and grinned a little, it was amazing how even though it felt like the world was falling apart things were still moving normaly for everything else.
