Kai_Chi Kitten-Tora Oh I almost forgot. I was telling my friend PD about this event and she asked me if it was a yearly thing cause she wants to join next year(she's a writer). I told her I don't know and that I'd ask you. A maybe will be okay if you're not sure yourself, I just want to be able to tell her something when I see her online again. Hmm its something that will be decided later on. For now I've had a lot of distractions that pulled me further away from this event then I would have liked to, but if everything settles down for me than it is possible to have another one next year. But I cannot garanty anything right now : ) Alright-y~. I'll pass the message onto her then. Hope things settle down for you~ smile here's to an awesome event /cheers

heart It's been fun, guys. I hope everyone who participated learned as much as I did! If anyone is interested, I've been doing a really fun ongoing art swap thing here that other people may also be interested in. :3

Oh, I have enjoyed this event so much! Thank you so much, Kai_Chi! I am definitely going to miss it! heart
I can say with 100% certainty that it has really helped me.
I have this horrible block where I can't draw for myself. I give up when things get even a little frustrating, or something doesn't immediately come out the way I want (which rarely happens anyway). It's so easy to give up when I'm not working for someone else.
So, despite having so much I want to draw, I'm usually stuck in my comfort zone, drawing Gaia avatars. For this event I intentionally tried to avoid that and branch out into the things I wanted practice on. With the time limit in place, I was able to force myself to keep going, even when things weren't turning out well. And I loved that, because it usually came out well if I kept going. Or, even if it didn't, at least I was finally doing the things I've always wanted to do.
If I had seen a few of my event pictures a few months ago, I would never believe that I was the one who made them. And what's more, I probably would have been envious, wishing I could make them! lol
I've already been thinking of ways I can continue to practice. I only hope I can stick to it. I have to say, though. It's going to be real nice to be able to work on a picture for more than one day from now on! XD

You do a lot of things that I wish I could do: beautiful colors and compositions with a real graphic feel. And it feels so effortless coming from you! I love graphic work so much but my art is just... not graphic. XD I'm jealous.

I have always had such respect for artists who can bring that out in their art. It's not easy to capture that life and so often a character becomes only a model of a person, instead of a real one. But with your characters, I can really feel them. Even in something as simple as walking away. (BTW, great picture!) In my opinion, that's pretty much the most important thing with character art, and you're really good at it!

Shestval I'm glad you're happy with it! <3 Sorry it took me so long to finish. sweatdrop We never got a "finish a previous picture" for that date range so it kept going on the back burner... I'm happy it was worth the wait! Haha, yeah, I know what you mean.
I am now going back to do a few previous pieces myself~ <3
