 [Fathom looked down upon the kit rubbing fondly against him. He raised his paw, and the kit tumbled against his belly. He lowered his paw once more, allowing the kit to play with him.
He turned to Nightflame.]
"Go ahead," he said, his voice rumbling in his massive chest.

 "do you believe in curses?" NightFlame asked. NightFlame looked at Fanthom's crimson eyes with his piercing blue ones. NightFlame was calm.

((Gray, it's FATHOM not FANTHOM.))
[The kit squealed playfully and batted at Fathom's paw. She heard a serious mew behind her and turned around. She ignored it and leapt onto Fathom's back.]

[Fathom stared into the young cat's unblinking blue eyes.]
"Yes," he said, unfaltering, "I believe in them. I believe a cat can cause harm with more than his body."
[He swiveled his head around, looking into the distance.]
"I have seen such things...before..." he murmured.
[He blinked.]
"Well. I've seen a cat help with his mind before," he corrected himself, "so why not harm? If it's possible to help someone using your mind, it must be possible to harm them. Others can call it cursing, if they wish."
[He sighed.]
"What a burden it must be to see the dreams of others," he muttered to himself.

[Since Fathom seemed not to notice Shiningkit jump onto his back, she batted his ear.]

[Fathom shook the kit off and pinned it down gently with one of his massive paws. As it squirmed, he waited for Nightflame's response.]

"Hmmmm. A cat that can help with his mind can also harm with his mind." NightFlame thought for a moment. "Actually its quite interesting. if it comes to your benifit you will want to see others dreams. We are all selfish in one way or another." NightFlame looked up at the twinkling stars in the sky. "and yet.... sometimes its ok to be selfish. that's how you know you arent perfect that you will make mistakes but..." He looked back at Fathom. "you will also learn." NightFlame said. "Do you believe you are cursed? For no other cat has had eyes as red as yours and many cats seem to fear you because of it."

[The kit squirmed under Fathom's gigantic paw. She finally got free and walked over to Nightflame and looked up at him. He looked funny to her. She jumped up on top of him and batted his ears.]

[Fathom watched the kit affectionately.]
Letting out a sigh, he responded, "I honestly have no idea. If StarClan has cursed me, they would have showed objection to me being deputy. Perhaps it is a curse of my family, or my mother was cursed. I'm not so sure."
[He stood taller suddenly.]
"What I do know is that I won't let it bother me. I will serve my clan to the fullest extent, and I will protect my clanmates as if they were my children."

 [Leopardpaw bounded up to Fathom and playfully nudged him. She then noticed the kit and stepped back, unsure of what to do. She plopped down neatly and let the kit play with her tail. She admired him, very much.] "Fathom, will we practice tomorrow? I can't wait to start training!"

NightFlame flicked his ears back and forth as shiningkit played with them. "hmmmm. you are right. they would have shown some sort of sign. I'm not so sure it is a curse." NightFlame said. NightFlame looked at Fathom as the deputy stood. "Yes, im sure that you are a brave and noble warrior." NightFlame stared at him for a moment then said "Well, then im sure your very busy being a deputy. especially with BlackFlame and MoonFlower." NightFlame glanced at the two cats and stood up. "I hope we meet again." and with that NightFlame left and caught up to his friend.

 [Jadepaw heard Nightpaw whining about how bored she was so, thought it was with hesitation, left Firestorm's side and walked up to the cat.] "Nightpaw, it wouldn't be nearly as boring if you socialized." [Jadepaw laughed and batted at Nightpaw's ear playfully.]

[Fathom purred contentedly. He batted Leapordpaw playfully between the ears.]
"Yes, we shall," he purred, "Now, which would you like more? A fighting or hunting lesson?"
