Of course Katrina was out cold, but Sayo could feel something trickle down her throat. Mentally, she grasped her throat. What is this stuff? There was a moment of silence... Then Katrina suddenly bolted up. "Damn!! That stuff is strong!!" Another pause... "...." She turned to Damion and held out her empty glass. "More please...."

::Warren shook his head and let out a small sigh:: And this is why I avoided taverns. Every person who appears to drink never knows their limits and acts like an idiot. Then, given the chance, they simply yell for more. It makes me wonder if alcohol is just an alchemical version of a drain intelligence spell.

He's right, you know.... Sayo said that, referring to what Warren said.
Shut up... Katrina took the drink. You'd probably do the exact same thing anyway. There was a brief pause after that. True."No need to be a smart *ss about it." Unlike what Damion had suggested, to take small sips, Katrina took another large gulp. This time, however, she felt dizzy for a second but the feeling soon passed and she didn't pass out like the last time. Katrina was pretty good at adapting to things quickly. "And the only way to decrease your ability to look like an idiot is to get past your limits and deal with anything that happens in between. If you never attempt to go past your limits you'll never get any stronger."

I disagree. The best way to decrease your ability is to take it slow. With time you pass whatever limit you had and you never look like an idiot in the process. Of course seeing that through the haze of alcohol is a bit much to ask no?

"Whatever works for you I guess. Besides, not everyone has enough time to do that."
Sayo laughed in her head. I sure did! Katrina could feel Sayo frown. Then again, I took it slow to become powerful and look where I am now. Kinda boring being stuck here all the time...."Don't worry, I won't throw up...or pass out again for that matter...." It was hard to tell how she could be so certain about that. Stil, she sounded so sure as if she actually knew what was going to happen. She drained the rest of the liquid, no longer feeling as dizzy as before when she did so.

Everyone has the time, the just think they don't have the time. No a little while ago I, personally, did not have the time. I had tapped into an ancient arcane magic that caused my body to age twice as fast. Of course as you can see I remedied the situation. ::Warren did have to say his illusion did make him look fairly young. Though he thought the white streaks in his hair added a little character as well as a touch of age to himself::

Katrina shrugged slightly as she set her empty glass back on the counter. "Life's shorter then you think... Not everyone uses that magic stuff either."

Did you not just hear me? I said my life was shortened due to magic. ::He let out small sigh while shaking his head:: To be technical I died 18 years ago...well at least it would be 18 years ago if we were back in my era. I'm sure a couple of thousand years have passed since my jump.

"I heard you. That's exactly why I don't like to use magic." There were just too many risks when using magic according to Katrina. Besides, people who relied only on magic always had a weak spot that could be picked out once their energy wore out.
Not to mention, Sayo had been trapped because of magic anyway.

And like I said. I dug deep in my research. Most mages will only do what is taught to them and thus have no fear of something like that happening. A wilder, on the other hand, is a danger to everyone around them. Self learning without the basics always leads to self-destruction. Besides, with all the untold power at one's finger tips how could people not know at least some magic? The only person come close to besting my magic was a chrono mage wielding an axe.

"I don't know any...I think anyway...." Katrina scratched her head. "Well...I have increased spiritual energy built up from the natural energy in my body." She shrugged. "I don't really know if that could be called actual magic though."

::Warren closed his eyes and seemed to think back:: When I died...I was...defending my manor home. I had my favorite slave by my side as I always did. I had little strength remaining for the defense. I knew I had about one attack left in me...the spell Thunderstorm Slayer I believe...
