*Suddenly, a flash of gold comes from the nursery window. Luciel spirals down towards where he can see Lyssan and Amestru, flanked by a Salamander. He lands in front of Lyssan, clearly proud of himself and expecting to be praised, then pales when he sees the anger in her face*

steady, lyssie... comes a soft voice at her side....
lyssan sighs... i know dear, i know.... luceil... kiddo, can you introduce me to your friends... she asks quietly, eying the salamanders warily.... then we need to have a heart to heart talk.... i think it is time you have a teacher... would you like that? she asks hunkering down on her heals and looking him in the eye....

a puff of smoke behind them startles the small dragon but the elderly mage who stumbles forward from it quickly puts him at ease... his volumpious robes are patched and worn and he is wearing an tall peaked hat with an enormous brim... he removes the hat and fans himself in an attempt to remove the smoke....
lyssie, girl... how are you... i hear you have a student for me... he says with great cheer...
lyssan cocks her head to one side and sighs... that i do... but i haven't summoned ye yet, fiz.... ye've timeslipped again, me friend...
the elderly mage shrugs his indifference and kneels gingerly before luceil... so this is my charge, hmmm... curious breed he be... i like it....

*Luciel looks at the starnge mage...and laughs, sniffing him all over. His salamanders flow around him, warming him as they move. He looks at the mage, and nods*
He smell funny...but he nice...he good teacher, right?

to his surprise, the salamander merely climbs into the beard and makes itself comfortable, along with three field mice and two small grey birds...
the old mage's eyes twinkle merrily... ahh... so already ye can firespeak that's a useful skill, child... but can ye talk to a raindrop? or converse with a cloud?

a shaggy white eyebrow goes up and the mage pauses, but so briefly that if you weren't looking closely you wouldn't notice.... lyssan sighs... i was hoping to talk with ye first, old freind... let's get ye comfortable and i'll explain...
sharp grey eyes look from her to the young dragon before him... and he seems to age into a brief sadness, which he quickly shakes off...
mt name is fizban, child and you mustn't forget it... i am the great and wonderful fizban and i will share my talents with you... but you must promise me not to disappoint me, or i shall be very very angry...
the great and mighty me left hind foot grumbles amestru closing his book... he stands and stretches, then greets the older mage with a hug...ye bumbling fool... so glad to see ye... we could have used ye here days ago it seems...

we start by you convincing all your little friends to return to their stations... then i need you to find for me some cheese and birdseed... plus a bit of cotton and four handfuls of mildweed fluff... after you do this you are to meet me in the garden... agree?... says the mage reaching up and taking him form the hat... he places him on the ground before him....
