I had absorbed Hungary! biggrin
Once, Venice was warring with a few countries. What happened was that Venice was forced to let go of Byzantium. I went into a royal marriage with the Kingdom of Byzantium and ended up with a personal union with Byzantium. Once the time arrives, Byzantium will be absorbed. biggrin

Here's what happened.
1. They were absorbed by the Ottomans early game.
2. After a later defeat, the Ottomans released them.
3. Because of a holy war, I managed to absorb the Byzantines as Austria.
4. I was finally able to absorb the Ottomans with the high point being the conquest of Constantinople.
5. Later on, the Venetians were defeated and had to release the Byzantines.
6. I married into the Byzantine Kingdom.
7. I was able to go into a personal union with both Byzantium and Montenegro.
8. After the kaiser died, both Byzantium and Montenegro became parts of the HRE. biggrin
