Arron sat on the bed & listened quietly. "...P-People have re-regret for a-a lot of things... may-may you were f-forced to-to do something bad..." he said. He did not believe that the slave would do such a thing without reason.

The slave could only nod as he took some deep breaths to get his emotions under control. For some reason, he strongly felt that crying was a major sign of weakness. Eventually, he regained most of his composure, however upset he was at the time. "Whatever the reason... I'll make up for what I've done." he said with a sadness to his voice. He still wished to discover his past, but he felt then that it would be important to be prepared for more sadness and regret. "But... do you hate me...?" he asked, lowering his head and staring at his hands.

The young man shook his head. "P-People kill for a-a lot of reasons..." he said solemnly, "...greed, love, rage... s-self d-defense." He paused on the last one. He could not hate the man who he considered a friend for past actions that he did not remember. Arron knew that there was more to the story, & that his friend was a different person at the present.

"If... you can forgive me.. then perhaps... in time, I will be able to forgive myself as well." the slave said quietly before shifting so that his legs hung over the edge of the bed. "Then... I'll make breakfast. Is there anything you want to eat?" he questioned, a certain sadness still evident in his voice and countenance.

"...S-Some oatmeal..?" he suggested, standing himself. Arron did not wish to stay in the mansion for much longer.

"Okay. I can do that." the slave responded as he walked to the door and out into the hall. He said nothing more as he headed for the kitchen and slipped through its doors.

The mechanic followed, hoping his friend would be alright. He was mentally kicking himself for bombarding the slave with the information as soon as he had gotten up.

He worked on making oatmeal soundlessly until he'd finished making two bowls of it, one larger than the other. He'd almost forgotten to even make one for himself in the first place due to Arron not telling him to do so, but a quick thought back on Arron's stance on starving told him otherwise. The slave walked into the dining room and set down the bowl for Arron. It was plain oatmeal, but with caramelized apple sliced mixed in for flavour, and a sprinkle of cinnamon on top. "I... hope you like it." he said softly before sitting down to eat his own.

Arron frowned in concern as he looked at his friend. "...Look... pl-please don't be hard on y-yourself. J-Just because y-you wanted to er-erase a-a bad thing doesn't mean y-you killed someone. Y-You may have done something b-bad, but you tried to make up for it. Th-That's the important thing." he said before taking a bite of the oatmeal, "Th-This does not ch-change the fact th-that you are st-still a good person."

"We can only truly know once I've remembered my past..." the slave responded, prodding at the oatmeal with his spoon as he spoke. "And as I agreed before, no matter what it is, I'll see it through. Whatever my Mistress doesn't want me to know, I'll... discover..." he looked up from his oatmeal, pausing on that thought for a moment. "...but, why doesn't she want me to remember? In fact... why did she erase my memory in the first place, if what she said before is true?"

"But what could I have been part of that would have affected her to the point of taking action? She can't be killed, so unless the reason for erasing my memory was merely to have a better slave, I couldn't imagine what it would be." he responded. The discussion wasn't going anywhere, but it was at least taking his mind off of the fact that he may have killed people. "Yet... oddly enough, it all seems like too much trouble just for a slave. She'd have better luck simply finding someone who was already submissive enough to do as she said, and not going through the trouble of erasing any memories." the slave had never truly wondered about any of what he was saying, and it had him stumped.

Arron had an idea, but he did not voice it in fear of making the slave feel even worse about himself. "I-I don't know... Y-Your guess is as good as-as mine..." he said quietly. He finished the oatmeal.

"I... guess we'll have to just uncover the rest to uncover that much." the slave finished, taking some time to eat the rest of his oatmeal before letting out a sigh. "I'm still unsure of how much time we'll have. Whatever was done to my Mistress, it's unlikely it's permanent with her abilities. The faster we work to discover everything, the better."

Arron nodded as he stood. "...Did you f-find an-anything wh-while searching here in-in the man-mansion..?" he asked finally.
