Kalena gently smiled at Maci, she slowely knelt down and smiled more. "I used to be a lot like you when I was your age, Maci. At least you have Jaecen to take care of you"
It was true what she just said, she clearly remembered herself as someone who'd hide from people that looked scary or important when she was Maci's age, even after that.
She then looked up at Renton, she sighed, her eyes became sad. "yeah, I was. Renton, its time to....come back.....but I can...at least let you get these two someplace safe. Normally i'd say the academy but....with me putting Kelina in charge......I just got word from Rose that she's having to take over....something about Kelina making herself drunk all the time so she wouldn't have to work."
Jaecen rolled his eyes. "I'm pretty sure I can handle myself. It's not us you should be worried about." He turned to Renton. "If you gotta go, just meet us somewhere. We'll look for Maci in the meantime." Maci yelled. "No!" Her face turned red. "I-I mean, we need Renton, right?" She looked up at Jaecen. "Let's be honest, we wouldn't even be able to fight without him." She caught Kalena looking at her and went red again, returning to hide bihind Jaecen's back.

"Ehhh? Seriously..?" His eyes dropped as he took a sigh. "Glad Rose took control..or else we would of have had more problems on our hands huh?" He brought his attention to Jaecen and nodded. "Right, good luck on finding Naomi-" He was interrupted by Maci, who seemed to act hesitant. "Taken a liking to Kalena, eh?" He made a small grin, teasing her.
Kalena smiles and then thinks. "I got something for you....if you believe you can be brave, which you are already Maci" she smiles and takes off a rather old looking ring. It looks like a old silver ring.
She held this ring in front of her. "when I was your age, I was a orphan that no orphanage would take in. One kindly old man told me if I could be brave, I could have this ring, it helps you be brave too. I believe its time I do the same."
She held the ring out in her hand to Maci "I want you to have it" she smiles, with a happy look on her face.

Maci's face turned red as she took the ring from her. Jaecen tried to stifle his laughter. "This is ridiculous. I'm getting pretty amused by this." Still redfaced, Maci stomped on his foot. His eyes winced tightly in pain. I keep forgetting she has the strength of a bear. Shaking his foot with a sour look on his face, Jaecen reconsidered. "So, since Maci's all for it, what did you have in mind, Ms. Kalena?"
Kalena slowely stood up, she still wasn't used to kneeling, so getting up was also a hassle. It took her a bit to get up, she seemed stiff.
"What do you mean Jaecen?" she asked She actually had no idea what he was talking about.
She was also in the process of contacting the academy, even if just in short bursts with a telepathic power, in a way to check in.
She knew she was on the verge of a great battle, one that she didn't know if she'd come out of, even with her being the way she was. She did not want to face the grim reaper, but she knew she had to go into the war, she just needed to bring Renton back with her, and anyone else that decided to come, however she wouldn't endanger kids, even teenagers, in this war.

Jaecen sighed. "I can't just stay somewhere and do nothing. If I'm gonna find my-my friend, I can't just wait. Besides, what he has seen will come again. They don't stop." Jaecen looked down at Maci. "There's a good chance we can help with whatever you're fighting." His voice wavered. "I just can't sit around doing nothing." Maci turned to Renton, then to Kalena. "My brother can't fight unless I'm there, besides I'm not even exactly sure what we are fighting. But Renton's seen these things and they'll be after him, too. Please, don't just make us walk away." She stared at the ground. "Jaecen, please control it." He looked up at Maci and smiled. "Thanks for trying, kid, but I'm fine." Jaecen took a deep breath. "She's right. I wont just go somewhere and leave someone to fight the nearly impossible fight." He placed his hand on Maci's head.

Renton stretched his bones and then cracked his neck two times. "Leaving already? I haven't got to train yet so I might be a little rusty. Wish I could of done it sooner..., but then I ran into these guys." He chuckled before hearing Jaecen and Maci. "..."

Jaecen threw his hands behind his head. "I dunno about me but you could try to give Maci a whack." Maci covered her face with her hand and sighed. "Anyways, can we please do something before I lose my cool." Jaecen saw her eye twitch and his face turned scared. "Ehehe, no need!" Jaecen turned and cleared his throat. "Right, so now comes a choice. We either help you or we can part ways." He sighed. "It'd be nice not having to fight while still exhausted." Maci nodded in agreement.

Renton folded his arms. "Fair enough." He sighed and then looked at Jaecen and Maci one more time. "Honestly, I would love to have you guys come along. But, uh, is this okay with Ms. Kalena?" He turned to the headmistress.

Jaecen stared nervously between Renton and Kalena. Maci held her breath.
(OOC: The city folk here are scared of some small toxin bourne from algae. I just find it hysterical that all the stores were out of water in an hour.)
Kalena sighed. She started to think the academy was a safe place for these two, while they were gone, but she didn't want to separate them from Renton, especially at the moment,.
X walked out of a portal and saw Kalena "hey! Headmistress! Shes over here Alex!" she said looking back at Alex and then she ran up to Kalena
"wow, you look so different from the last time I saw you! You look pretty with red hair, so natural!"
Kalena looked at X "what are you doing here X?"
"Kelina got drunk and refuses to wake up, so Rose took over. She said the academy talked to her and lead us here to find you!" she giggled. "Kelina is a really harsh teacher though, kept me in the abyss for a week!"
Kalena sighed rather heavily "ouch. Least your in one piece this time."
She then looked at Renton. "Renton, I think...." she sighed again.
"it would be nice if you could come but you have these two to watch over now too and it would be mean to separate you guys. Hopefully im strong enough to face Zanza."

Alex stepped out of the portal alongside X, smiling up at Kalena. "Hey, Mom." He said in a childish tone, teasing the woman as he looked around at what they were up to, on edge in case something was coming for X.
Renton nodded. "Right, I understand. And, uhm, thank you. I really appreciated this Miss Kalena." He really wanted to help his friends. Whatever's causing this Jigoku scourge, he had to get to the bottom of it and find Naomi if its possible. Renton then turned to Jaecen and Maci. "Change of plans. I guess I'm stuck with you guys." He grinned.
