The little Dragon stared horror-struck at the scene unfolding before her. Why would he~ there was just~... her heart sank and her facepalm was one of epic proportions. She had to step in before their chances of a safe night were shattered completely (if they hadn't been already).
"Do we know where we are?" she asked timidly, looking to Kagae and his almighty map. Without waiting for an answer, she stepped forward and addressed the stern guardian with a bow. "Err... forgive my companions. A long journey and ill-omened skies has them far too stressed. I am Kitsuki Masuyo, healer and guide of this expedition. Is there a master or commander here we might speak to?"

Kagae ignored Masuyo because who asks a question which isn't rhetoric and doesn't wait for an answer? Rude people and mystics, what do these both have in common? They're both gits.
Watching Kojiro throw a rock near the guy Kagae decided to one up Kojiro by throwing a rock at the mysterious stranger.
"So we're going to treat anyone we meet like a stray dog now Kojiro-san? Suits me."
Then he threw the rock.
(2k2 or 3k2 depending on whether Rain decides that a rock is a viable weapon for crab hands. 3/2k2 Throwing rocks (Reflexes) Result: 7 regardless.)

@ Miyako:
You make your best attempt to reach the stranger's better side, appealing your case and trying to explain who you are.
Whatever your story is, this person seems to want none of it, and doesn't even move to give you a glance from beneath his low-brimmed straw hat.
@ Denbe:
HARE SENSES TINGLING. You worry that this man might be here not as a guard, but as a diversion. Or maybe both. You're not sure. Part of you wants to roll initiative, but there's no one else but this person to attack. Not that you can see anyways.
@ Masuyo:
You try to apologize to the stranger, and try to adhere to the chain of command. It seems like a logical choice here, but if this man before you has a master, he seems hesitant to tell you anything about the person. They remain silent on the issue, perhaps deciding that descretion is the better part of valor.
@ Kagae:
You pick up a rock and pelt the guy right in the chest. He must be okay with this though because he doesn't start up or anything in response. Maybe he's used to rocks being thrown at him? Maybe he's wearing armor beneath the cloak and he didn't even feel it? Maybe Kagae throws like a girl? Who knows what the case may be.

With this being extremely strange, Kojiro would ponder if the man were stuck in an Iaijutsu stance of some form. It may be something out of left field, but who knows?

Miyako lifted her fingers to her eyes, pinching the bridge of her nose between. If this was...no, surely they weren't THAT tired. Reaching down so that her fingers brushed her warfan and moved to conceal it within her kimono sleeve and she began to step forward towards him, half hoping she was wrong so she wouldn't feel like an idiot, and half hoping she was right so she could rest.
As she walked, she looked at the figure closer. Had he EVER moved...they'd find out. [Slight of Hand/Agility 4k2 to conceal her weapon, duh. = 15]

@ Kojiro:
Only amateurs who know nothing of the art would wield their weapon openly like that, and part of the art itself is to be able to draw the blade quickly from its sheath. He may be stuck, but not in an iaijutsu stance.
@ Miyako:
Fan out, the courtier would be the first one of everyone to brave this threat. As she approached, she waited carefully for some... any sign of motion.
None came.
Though he smells really bad.

As the first waft of smell came from the presumable corpse, Miyako fought her exhaustion and nausea. Bringing her fan out, she began to wave it in front of her nose to make the smell go away, and she thought Kojiro and goblin poo was bad...sheesh...
"I think he's dead!" She called back though she had no way to prove it other than the guy wasn't moving.

Miyako was walking forward?
Denbe- and likely her yojimbo besides- hurried forward, not far behind the courtier, taking only efforts not to draw his weapon and look primed for violence. He suspected something was the matter, frowning as he followed, but it wasn't until he got terribly close, just behind Miyako, that he started to really feel like a fool.
And think he might have a better idea what was going on.
Denbe wouldn't draw his sword, but if his approach didn't bring any sign of motion, the Hare would walk right up to the gates, right past this samurai.

"Ahh.....heh. Let's move on then. We've wasted enough time here. I do worry about what would kill a man and leave him in such a position...I also wonder if it's still he... Kojiro would just face palm as Ujina-san walked towards the gates.

"Don't worry Kojiro-san we can just throw more rocks at the enemy if Denbe-san gets attacked" grinned Kagae mockingly as he followed after denbe.

Denbe enters the city without difficulty!
Kagae enters the city without difficulty!
The two of you, the city is barren and abandoned. It looks like centuries of exposure has ruined it and made it inhabitable. It's difficult to tell ruins from still-standing structures out here, but not a soul is around.
The castle still looms, and due to its superior construction, is it much better shape than the outlying city.

Miyako rolled her eyes at the Crab. "It wasn't as if they abandoned their companion under less than ideal circumstances. I think we'd be inclined to be more forgiving. We are all tired and tired people make silly mistakes." It annoyed her to have to defend Kojiro, but the Crab still wasn't on her good side yet though he was making improvements.
With that said, Miyako headed after the Rabbit and the Scorpion, poking her fun at the both of them. "Think you guys might want to not let the courtier risk her neck first next time...hmmm?"

"Well, we'll let them risk their neck now. We don't know what happened to this bushi. We don't even know who he is! I have an idea though....."
With that , the Scorpion pulled out his Kusari-gama and used the chain to knock free the weapon from the corpse.

Kagae would look about the city trying to spot the most suitable building to spend the night in possibly before exploring the castle.
"Nice place, if it wasn't abandoned of course though what happened to the boar clan remains unknown to me." Commented Kagae.

Masuyo stared in shocked disbelief as another bushi followed suit. This was utterly disgraceful. She still had no idea what they were doing out here, but if it was to make uncivilized fools of themselves, she was starting to regret taking part in it. "What has become of the Bayushi and Kaiu!? If we had any chance of finding shelter here, it has gone the way of your honor!"With that she would begin to storm off, content to find shelter elsewhere... until the courtier decided to march right on up to the lonely guardian. Truly these people were mad! ...and yet she couldn't leave. Not anymore. With a sinking feeling that sent chills through her very core, she watched the party move right on past the tragic guardian. It didn't excuse their actions, but now she was faced with an impending storm and taint-infested mountain, alone, on one side, or not alone but within the walls of a undoubtedly infested ghost-town on the other. She chose the 'not alone' option. Though not before stopping to offer a prayer to the sentry whose honor was so great he kept his duty even in death. Inside she stuck very close to the Hare (so far the only one proven trustworthy), though her expression screamed of how much she thought this was a bad idea. Her little companion likewise stuck to her side with hackles raised, apprehensive as ever.
