Kanti followed him out of the den, taking a deep breath of the fresh air. “Look Sanoskue, the snow’s starting to melt!” she barked happily.

Sanoskue looked around, and indeed the snow was melting, "Well thats good, hunting will be much easier now."

Kanti’s tail wagged happily as she scented the air. “Rabbits down by the river. They smell yummy.”

“Mmm, breakfast,” Kanti joked as she began to creep down the hill towards the river, grateful that the snow was beginning to melt and she was no longer up to her nose in it.

Sanoskue followed after her, then halfway down the hill went in another direction, intending to cut off any escape the rabbits might try.

Kanti continued to creep down the hill until a rabbit was in sight. She paused for a moment before leaping at the rabbit. But at the last moment it saw her coming and scrambled away. Kanti’s teeth clicked together just behind its tail.

Sanoskue was ready, and pounced on the fleeing rabbit, snapping it's neck, then tossing it over to Kanti. "You missed." He joked as he scented the air trying to locate another rabbit.

Kanti swished her tail and headed off in another direction toward another scent that seemed enticing.

“You killed it, your rabbit!” she barked back, jumping after a squirrel that was struggling to get through the melting snow.
