I know, Champhy...I'm Luciel's blood-bound brother. I know exactly how to take care of a young dragon.
*Hopian chows down on the meal Champhy brings him*
I kin see why ye work here...ye be a queen among cooks...and with Kero for me brother, that's high praise.
*Suddenly, the bracelet on his left leg vibrates, revealing an image of a mikly eyed lion with a moonstone on her head, who is standing next to one with the same mischief in her eyes that Hopian and Kero both have*
Beloved...Lunaria...what is it?
*He seems to listen to them for a moment, then lets shock cross his face*
An attack!!! Now!!! They must be kidding! I'll be right there.
*Before anyone can stop him, he moves to Luciel, hugging him, then transforms into a bolt of Lightning and shoots out the window with a thunderous clap. Luciel, shocked by all this, starts to cry*

the elderly waterhorse looks at lyssan who shrugs with an embaressed grin... sorry, dear... she says with a soft laugh... iguess i should have warned ye... kero was the only one of that crew who seemed to stay in anyone place long enough to hold a decent conversation with... he'll be back... probably off to save the multiverse or something along those lines...

*Luciel, flapping over to chaumphy, paws at her for a second, before he flies to Lyssan and hugs her leg. Kero, on the other hand, has much to say*
An attack...not good....shadows are dangerous foes....Hopian leads the twelve, but without Sulian...they're lost...oh forget it...I'm going to bed.
*The sound of snoring is heard fading away as Luciel looks into Lyssan's eyes, clearly scared from the thunderclaps*

lyssan picks him up and carries him back to his nursery... she hugs him tight and whispers... it's ok, kiddo... he's just a lot of hot air.... heat it up too fast and it goes boom... won't hurt ye... lest ways... he won't hurt ye... hopian will protect ye... he will never ever harm ye, never ye fear... but he is a bit of a showoff....

lyssan tucks him in and shifts to fox form.... going to the window sill and curling up there for a nap... waiting for some sign that the young gem child and his siblings are alright....

*Hopian soon reappears...and he is a sorry sight. Even his opal is spotched with blood...his blood. He turns around, and Lyssan sees a gigantic slash, ragged and filthy, as if from a giant fang or claw. He goes over to whewre Luciel is sleeping, gently stroking his head*
I won't be back here for long, brother...our home was attacked by the Spider King's guards...an even baker's dozen. We've slain seven. I have to rest in my opal for a while...you won't see me until much later...be well, little brother.
*He flies away, and even his lightning seems diminished. Luciel soon wakes up and goes to playing with his toys, periodically looking around. he seems to be trying to find the lion cub*

hopian will return, luceil, but he has things he needs to do... says lyssan from her perch on the window sill... she hops down and walks over to where he sits, wondering how he'll react to her fox form....

*Luciel, seeing her foxy form, wanders over to sniff her. Getting a good whiff and reassured it's her, he reaches out and paws at her nose*

the fox chuckles and flicks her tail at his nose... then hops away, inviting him into a game of hide and seek.....

*He flies away, hiding in the kitchen, near the hearth. Waiting for her to find him, he is astounded to see a lizard leap out of the fire. Conversing with him in a crackling language, one he somehow understands, the lizard befriends him, then darts away when he sees the fox coming to search for the dragon*

*Later on that day, Lyssan, who had been chasing Luciel from fire to fire, finds herself ringed with flaming lizards. Amestru also finds himself surrounded as he reads from a book taken from Kero's library. When Champhy rises out of her pool to prepare the evening meal, six lizards ring her watery home. Talesian finds himself on a broghtly lit guard post as two lizards circle him. Shia and Keva find themselves tailed by one each. Luciel sits through all this, laughing as he chats it up with the Salamanders in his own nursery's fireplace*

the fox shifts form and orders the salamanders back to their grates... surprisingly they listen, albeit relunctantly.... champy douses the heat of those about her pool with carefully directed spouts of water, resulting in a great deal of steam in the kitchen... tam mere encourages his two to take up residence in the two torches near his post, while shia and keva go looking for keva's magic instructor for advice.... after checking on the safety of the palace, lyssan goes off looking for amestru to find him reading in the garden, using the salamanders' glow for light... he is occasionally feeding the fiery brood twigs and bits of coal to keep them happy.... he looks up with a twinkle in his eyes and smiles...
he only chooses those he cares for... me dear... he says with a hearty chuckle as he catches a glimpse of lyssan's frown....
ah... but he endangers the entire palace with his foolishness.... growls the fox in reply...
