45. What is your favorite thing about Marching Band? the performances and the people. I love how close a section gets to be (if they're a good section) and I really love marching performances. They take my breath away (lol, quite literally)

46. Would you rather be a section leader or a drum major? um...well, I kind of am a drum major. I don't think I'd want to be drum major in college though, I'd much rather be section leader - less work and more fun playing and marching (in my opinion, directing a show doesn't come close to marching in it). I honestly can't say what I would choose if I could go back and choose to be drum major or section leader (which I most likely would have been for a year or two if I hadn't been drum major). Drum Major has been difficult, but it has been worth it, I think.

48. Pep-band in the stands at a home game, or half-time show at an away game? never done a half-time show at an away game. Our pep bands and shows are both at the same home game. I prefer the shows, if I'm marching, and I can't say when I'm directing.

50. Is it better for the sections (of the quiz) to be shorter? sure? I'm a little too late for these questions I think

51. Do your drill-downs have any "special" commands? (For example, our band has "Silent Drill", "By the numbers", "Cancel all even/odd commands", etc...) Hm. Nope. We do "By the numbers" at DMA and occasionally during practice, but it's only for practices, not drill-downs.

52. Do audiences at your football games talk throughout your halftime shows? icon_scream.gif Yes! *growl* I don't think more than 10 people watch our show, and those 10 are all the band parents and perhaps a few devoted friends. evil Although I suppose a few watch - last year, when I dressed as Captain Jack Sparrow for our Pirates show, I had a lot of comments of "Jack Sparrow's hot!" when we were starting our shows (although you can tell they don't listen - the drum major's names were both obviously female, and these were girls shouting).

56. If you had to transfer out of band...would you go to orchestra or choir? (I would never let this happen...emo.gif) I can't sing too well and we don't have an orchestra. If we did, I suppose I'd pick up violin or viola. However, I would DIE before I transfered out of band.

57. If you had to switch instruments, which instrument would you switch to? uh...yeah, I'd never switch instruments, and considering I already play a bunch of other instruments...I suppose I'd play flute, but once again, I'd die before I stopped playing my horn.

58. If you had to eliminate one section from the entire band, which section would that be? icon_gonk.gif well...*laughs wickedly* I'd probably kick out the drummers this year. They're terrible! (no one here's from my band, so I can say this - I'd never say it to them) They can't keep a beat to save their lives. Our pep tunes have DIED!!! Seriously, they get so slow, I want to shoot myself! (not literally) And that's IF the percussionists can manage that kind of beat.
If the percussionists weren't an option, I'd kick out the trumpets (keep in mind I'm not really a trumpet player - I picked it up for fun and because I could play it easily). They all blast and they're definitely the worst section for musical ability (not counting this year's percussion). They were worse last year though. I was directing this one part of our show where everyone is standing still and the trumpets, at every practice, somehow managed to get ahead two beats when they got the melody and then everyone else would follow them and I would lose control of my precious tempo...

59. Are you going to major in music? Or are you currently majoring in music? I want to major on my horn, but if that doesn't work out (meaning I don't think I could find a good career), then I'll major in music ed. If neither works out, I want to major in physics.
