Tam smiles... "Yer right about that... I shouldn't have lumped her in with ye clods... she's too beautiful to be a mere lion..." His grin takes the sting out of his teasing and makes Hopian roll his eyes. Then Tam sobers. "Actually, I really need some sleep... it is surprising I can even remember my name. What with all the stuff Kero's been pulling off at home, those few hours I snatched on the fly last night have been the most restful hours I've had of late. Listen, Shar... take care of my cat, ok. I think I'm going to keep this one. She's pretty affectionate, but... well... there's nothing to eat at my place right now. See you both, later."
He goes to the door and let's himself out, leaving the healer and white lion to stare after him in bewilderment.
"Is he going to be ok?" asks Shar worriedly.

*Hopian shakes his head*
I'll follow him...silently.
*Bends light around himself and follows Tam, unheard and unseen*

Instead of sleeping Tam walks into Kerobian's room and begins picking things up. carefully cleaning it up, so that Kero doesn't realize what had taken place. Once he is done there he closes the door and goes to sit by the fireplace. He is hungry but the cold congealing food on the table doesn't appeal to him, so he just sits there until exhaustion finally lulls him into a half dreaming state. Suddenly, without warning he sits up with a muffled cry of alarm; then realizing he is safe and alone, he let's himself cry, something he's bee fighting against since awakening that morning.

Tam cries silently on Pyropian's shoulder for some time then pulls away, thanking him for being there.

*Pyropian hugs him again, letting the angel's head rest on his shoulder*
I'm here for those I love....and I do love you, Talesian...do you feel somewhat better, or do I need to stick around?

Just do what he wants....if he finds out, forgive him, and remind him you love him...that's all you have to do...or call Hopian to have a long talk with him about D. Miners and warping...I'm sure, a cub like Kero, he'll understand.

Tam nods sadly. "Have you ever done anything stupid like that?" he asks with a self directed laugh. "I was so sure I could help him and almost wound up needing help meself..."

*Pyropian nods*
Yes I have....and I wound up being spanked hard for it, by my foster father, Honorian.
I thought I could handle a battle...that he would need my help against an ice monster....and I wound up frozen and falling towards concrete...he had to save me, which cost him three nasty slashes across his back. Trust me, we all make mistakes...just so long as we learn from them.

Tam smiles ruefully. "Well, that is one mistake I won't be making again." he says quietly. "Listen, thanks for dropping by and if ye need to go, I'll be fine... but I make a mean cup of tea. Want some?"

*Pyropian nods...then asks a weird question*
Just so you're not weirded out by that confession...how old do you think I am...in comparison to the other gem children?

"Physically... mentally... or both... ?" asks Tam with a grin. Then he gives the lion a gentle hug. "You are what me ma would call an ancient child... one who is old of heart and wise beyond all measure but who still needs a little seasoning." He smiles at him and laughs. "It is what she calls me as well... or used to, anyway. I'm ageless myself... never been born, though I've been around for only the master knows how long... when I came down here I thought I knew everything and found out how little about life I did know... still learning by the way... as if ye can't tell."
He jumps to his feet and goes to the kitchen, pulling down the teapot and lighting a small fire on their cook stove, something Kero just had to have when they once saw it on the back of a wagon down in the market. "I can't offer much beyond tea I'm afraid... the cupboard is a little bare right now... that cub of mine has been eating us out of house and home and I need to go to the market sometime today... hope you don't mind."

*Pyropian chuckles*
You're right...when guided by my power, I am old-souled...but in reality, I am the third youngest of us...I may appear as an adult human, but I am only eight years old.

Tam smiles. I used to be locked into the belief that one's age governed how mature or wise one was,,, but I've long learned that it is how one behaves that should judge how well I listen to them. If they behave like children, I treat them as such... if they show wisdom and understanding, I treat them as equals. I've met many equals along the way and surprisingly few children, unless you include those who believe they know it all in that catagory." He winks and pulls out the tea chest. "Ok... we've chai spice, black tea, green tea, orange spice and blueberry. Which would you like?"
