Tam sighs and pours himself a large mugful and goes out to sit in the garden, wondering how he can get through to Kero, to show him how awful his behavior has become.
He sits in his favorite chair and stairs into his mug, racking his thought for what his folks had done for Keva. Trouble is, he was gone for most of that time and his memory of those times he was there aren't very helpful. Would taking the cat out on a fishing trip help... or would he simply reject Tam's overtures?

**Reject...D. Miners become moody, secretive, and just-plain rude right before they warp, much like Megapuberty**
*When he gets to the bottom of the mug, he tastes something...bitter and awful...Kero soaped the bottom of his glass*

He slams the mug against the fence, shattering it into a million pieces, then stomps inside, thinking to tell the cat off. Pounding on the door, he demands that Kero let him in.

And replies in much the same, telling the cat that he had had it and if he really wants to go f*** himself he can, but not to come running to him if it hurts. He starts to yank the door open then stops himself with his hand on the doorknob. He is far too angry to face Kero and knows it, so he goes back upstairs and drops the trapdoor to his room, in effect slamming the door himself... closing himself inside, something he has not done since they had moved into the cottage. Never has he closed Kero out, but tonight he simply cannot stand a moment more. of the cat's abuse.

*Kero, harrumphing in his room, could care less at this point...and he plays an angry song on his pipe and harp, hoping to keep his sira up all night*

But Tam has crawled out onto the roof to get away and although he can hear Ker's playing, it is muffled quite a bit. He lies on his back, staring up through the leaves of the tree by their cottage and curses himself for trying.

Peace at last, thinks Tam closing his eyes. Up on the roof where the evening breeze is cool and refreshing his headache is beginning to fade, so he decides to stay where he is. If Kero wants him, he'll find him, though he prays that his fosterling has decided to merely go to bed. He's pretty much had it.

After awhile, Tam wills his small harp into existance and begins to play softly, stringing it with tears and asking for help, patience, and most of all love. He hasn't felt loved in so long, he's beginning to wonder if he remembers how it feels... and he doesn't want to disturb Hopian anymore. The last time had been an utter fiasco and Fortuny hadn't forgiven him yet.

*Indeed she hadn't....she had finally made good on her threat to put a leash on her husband...Safirea had helped....he was grounded for a month...and now Kero was moving about downstairs, playing a dischord to Tam's music*

This was almost too much for him. The cat should not have heard him playing, but he had, and it felt like an invasion, an intrusion into something so private, as though Kero had no care for how he felt at all. he dropped the harp and pulled his knees up to his chest burying his face into his knees. How dare he be so rude... after all he had done for him... after all he'd been through. Anger surged through him, like a cold icy flood, drowning him in it's grip.
