Eri layed there, she stirred when the water touched her face, but she didn't wake up. Her bandage had slid down her arm, showing that she had been bitten. Her eyes opened slightly. "A..Ada..?" She said drowsily. "What happened..?" She blinked slowly and saw that her bite was visible and knew right away she saw it. "A-Ada, p-please don't hurt me! I don't want you to kill me...at least not yet!" She said panicked. Would Ada really kill her..?!

When Reshion regained consiousness Garath stopped wiping knowing how much rubbbing alcohol stung. "I'm glad you're alreight." He said softly. Passing teh cloth to reshion with the bottle of rubbing alcohol. "I'll wash my hands before applying the wrap to your head." He went over to the sink as well and washed of the blood, listening to Reshions apologies and what what had happened. "It's water under the bridge." He decided then to forget about Reshions previous actions and judge him for his actions from now on. Every one deserved a second chance and Garath had been surprised at REshions apology towards him. When his hands where clean he walked and passed Reshion the needle and thread as well. "If you want I can try to sew it up. I have sucessfully stiched someone before. Once. But only if you want me to." He unfurled the wrap and waited for Reshion to finish cleaning the head wound before wrapping it. "I think I'll wait till Reshion is completely bandaged up first. Then I'll eat."

Reshion listened to Garath and Nina speak to him, and said, "Thank you." He noticed Crimson didn't say anything. "She must hate me." He thought smiling.
"Hey Garath." He said, dropping his voice so that only he could hear. "Ask Nina out. I see the way that you guys look at each other, and I know you both feel strongly for each other. It's there. I know it." He said, pressing the alcohol dampened cloth to the back of his head. Groaning slightly, he continued to talk. "I once had a girlfriend. She would have been here, if it wasn't for me." He said, his eyes getting misty.
"I went to her house, to save her," He said, putting the cloth down and preceded to wrap his hands with the little bit of the wrap that Garath left on the bar. " I opened the door, and shot her father. He was lurching toward me." He said, the wrap now finished on his right hand and wrist. He continued to wrap his other hand and wrist and replayed the scene back in his head. "I ran up the stairs, four at a time. Her mother was at the top. I finished her off. Blam. Then, I arrived at her room. I grabbed her and turned around. Her two brothers were there." He said, his voice low. "The one I pushed in the hall, trying to get him away from her. Hah. I forgot about the other one. I had to reload. I was so stupid. I killed the first one and ran in her room again, only to see her get bit. So I killed them both. I didn't even give her the chance to live. I didn't. It's all my fault Garath. All mine." He finished the wrap and put his head down so that Garath would sew it up.
"The wound is from here to here." He said, running his fingers from one part of his head to the crown. He winced, and also told him, "After I clean my arm, I'll sew it also. Thanks." He said, a single tear running down his face.

[[sorry for not posting often... nuff said]]

David looked at Nicholas, who was testing David's knowledge. David was about to answer, when out of no where he heard the sound of music. Apparently Kalila heard it too. After Kalila pointed it out, David turned back to Nicholas, "Nothing is really safe anymore... I say we go for it. I mean it isn't like we aren't protected in any way." David said, holding up his dagger and pointing to his and Mizuki's guns. "What? Afraid?" He continued, trying to get on Nicholas's nerves, just enough so Nicholas would prove he wasn't scared. David waited to see if anyone did anything. Examining the group, Alex was asleep, David had no maturity unless ABSOLUTELY necessary, Mizuki was getting rather irritable, Kalila liked Mizuki, and Nicholas was questioning David's intelligents. Wow, how in the world we have survived this far? David thought, chuckling a little.

Mizuki had listened hald heartedly to the escapades going on behind his back but made no motion to look over his shoulder.
He could hear the sound of bodies hitting the slightly gravelled texture of the flat roof slates and identify where shoes had skidded against them - followed by the slight bump of something landing on them heavily seonds after.
He resisted the urge to check and see if something had gone wrong and one of the two had landed on their faces. Sure enough, his seeming callous indifference was rewarded when he heard the two bickering playfully with each other. A corner of his lips uplifted into a sort of warm, half smile behind the confines of his mask - his amusement and -perhaps. . affection?- hidden from prying eyes by a reinforced strong sheet of plastic.

His smile slipped, his lips setting in an unreadable thin line as Kalilaa picked up on the route he himself had already been planning. Mizuki wouldn't lie to himself, he inwardly smirked at Nicholas' questioning of David intelligence. It amused him greatly in a slightly bitter way. Any slate upon David was a welcome one as far as he was concerned - and it had been that way ever since David's first display of agro.
Though normally a pretty easy person to get along with, Mizuki was terrible for holding grudges. Something he inheritied off of his Father, who, admittedly, was a suspicious and grouchy old man who had prefferred the company and tutorage of his young social recluce of a son rather than that of other adults. He rarely saw eye to eye with other men his age and clung to his grudges and grieviences like a life line. He never gave people a chance. Mizuki liked to think he had adopted his natural hospitable nature from his Mother. A true Saint.
At least until the last hours of her life. . .
A shudder ran down his spine and Mizuki forced the thoughts away with a slight shake of his head.
As he calmed once more he picked up on something. All fear forgotten replaced immediately by befuddlement. He cocked his head to the side slightly and focused on this new and strange phenomina.
He felt it before he heard it.
A strange pulsating vibration that travelled through the air and up throught the soles of his shoes to tickle the soles of his feet and the end of his nose. It wasn't until a split second later that he realised it was music.
Loud music played at a distance. He looked in the direction he thought it was coming from. Completely absorbed in trying to figure out the location of the noise he was jumped in suprise as Kalila's voice sounded close to him. Whipping round he stared at her incredulously. She didn't notice however, her eyes someplace else.
It took Mizuki a further moment to realise what she had said. She had worded what he had just been thinking.
Music
He nodded slightly and looked back in the rough direction of the noise.
"It's good. It's a little to the North East of where we need to go so it should draw all the Crazie's near and behind the Arms Store towards it. Trouble in that being, it'll draw all Crazies south of us towards it and directly into our path."
He closed in on the edge of the roof and stared at the allies below. When he spoke next his voice was quieter, as if concious that anyone unwanted could overhear him.
"As Kalila spotted, I was planning to take the allies. It's a short distance from here - but it does mean that we'll have to take a few blind turns. These blind turns will be very dangerous. We won't see whats coming at us - and being able to smell us they'll know we're coming. They may be smart enough to lay in wait silently - but chances are they'll shriek the moment they smell us. At which point we run straight back towards this ladder." He kicked the ladder at the edge of the roof with the toe of his shoe. "We'll have to jump to reach it from there. That'll slow us down. But we must be quick. I suggest that I head the group and thus be the last to climb the ladder. I suggest David and Alex at the back just in case we are attacked from the rear. That way you, David, can help Kalila up to the ladder and Nicholas if he needs it before climbing up yourself. We must avoid fighting in these allies. They are very narrow and allow for very limited manouverability. That could just as easily work against us as for us and the Crazies, as we know, are very dangerous in close quarters. Though we might not be in as much danger from spray anymore," he tapped his goggled with a gloved hand to stress this point, "We are still more than susceptable to bites and scratches." He regarded the whole group.
He noted how all eyes were on him and for the maddest of seconds mentally invisaged himself as the stereotype curt, boot cut and painfully serious Sargents he had watched in War Movies. He nearly laughed, but caught himself just in time. A giggle would completely ruin the helpful tension he was working to build.
The troops needed fear to get adrenaline which would help them in this escapade.
He stared back out over the allies and mapped it in his mind.
Straight on, Second Right, Follow on until the Main Street. Doing a quick count he realised that they would have to pass over the turn offs to . . .three other allies on this route. Each of them presented potential danger, each of them an obstacle if they needed to get back to the ladder quickly.
The first of those three was only a few steps away from the building they were now on top of.
He rolled his shoulders and turned to Nicholas.
"Nicholas." He realised his voice had been sterner than he had intended and made an effort to soften it, "Throw an onion bomb south west from here. That'll draw all those close behind us towards it and will clear the way a little. I am going to go down and check that this first turn off is vacant. Watch for my signal and come down after throwing the bomb."
He flashed Nicholas what he hoped would be an empowering grin before realising that the youth wouldn't see it anyway. Instead he offered a salute and hitched up his gun in one hand, leaveing the other free to climb down the ladder with.

Mizuki crossed over the the ladder and made his way down it slowl but deliberately, trying to make as little noise as possible on the hollow metal rungs. He dropped from the bottom rung and saw, to his concern, it was quite a way from the ground. Five? Five and a bit foot? He grumbled within the confines of his mind and hitching his gun in both hands this time, braching the butt against his shoulder he started at a slow side step down the ally way.
It hadn't looked too scay from above. But down in the allies he was reminded vividly of the story of the Labrinth in which the Minotaur lived. The buildings seemed to loom over impossibly high, casting the narrow walk ways into near complete dark. Had Mizuki's eyes not already adjusted to the darkness steadily over the course of the night he would have been blind.
As it was however he could make out objects and shillouettes - standing out as complete black against a world of sooty grey. He had noticed as well, that his hearing [thought already stronger than the average humans] had become more finely tuned to compensate for his poor vision.
It was times like this that he believed whole heartedly the stories he had heard of the blind having far sharper other senses.
Adrenaline pumped round his body a mile a minute in the ominous darkness of the enclosed allies. There was nothing now but open air seperating him from the enemy - and that made him feel incredibly vunerable.
He slunk over to the ally enterance and pressing his back against the cold wall, suprised slightly but just how cold the stone was, he readied himself for the worst.
He snatched a quick peek around the corner and into the block darkness of the turn off before whipping his head back. His heart pounded as he fully expected to hear a screech of bloodlust followed by the thunder of heavy footfalls. Nothing came. Bracing himself he peered around again. Nothing moved within the ally way. He squinted. He could make out the dark smudges of cracks in the brick work, or block rectangles of posters. There were bundles on the floor that could be garbage bags or bodies - he couldn't quite tell. Nothing moved. He strained his ears and could hear nothing except the sound of wind stirring plastic carrier bags.
Sighing with gentle relief he stepped out infront of the ally and focused his gun on it. He waved a hand quickly at the roof to signal it was safe to come down.
Keeping his eyes focused on the ally before him, and his ears on the other two sides of him he took a few moments to compose himself.
He didn;t want the others to see how nervous he truelly was.
It would do nothing for them if they knew that even their unofficial leader was feeling exposed and weak.

((It's alright... Enjoy your time away thoroughly ^_^))

Nina smiled at Crimson as she set her little secret on the table. "You really out did yourself." She said with a laugh. "Too bad for the ones who come late... Doesn't look like enough for them." She said jokingly. "Oh... too bad." She said sarcastically. "Looks like we're just going to have to enjoy it for all of them." She said with a grin to the whole group in the house.
Garath spoke up next. "Ok..." Nina replied sadly with a nod.
Then Reshion answered Garath as well as spoke for himself. He mumbled something to Garath, but Nina couldn't hear what. She frowned slightly a the covertness of their speech. As Reshion finished up, he was crying. Nina didn't want to invade the conversation so she didn't do anything about it.

Nina walked over to the dining table and sat down at the end. The part where the head of the family was suppose to sit. Her dad would normally sit there, but he wasn't there. So, Nina decided it was best she sat there. She hand motioned Crimson to come sit down. "You can go ahead and start eating... You made it so you eat first." She said with a kind smile.
She looked back over to the boys and said loudly. "Hurry up so your food doesn't get cold. Eat up... we're going to need our strength."

She looked over at Thomas, who had been standing silently in the kitchen for a long time. "You come eat to..." She told the unsocial young man as if he were a small child.

Garath blushed when Reshion mentioned that Nina might like him. "Are you sure? I really don't think..." He mumbled under his breath woundering if Reshion was right. When Reshion continued talking he listened. Reshion had been through a lot Garath really couldn't blame him for his previos actions. gArath patted his shoulder and said quietly. "You did the best you could. If any thing is at fault it's this damn virus." Though Garath was surprised that Rshion shot her after getting bitten he said nothing of it. He knew that he would have waited for the person to turn. But prehaps Reshon had wanted to spare her the torment of knowing and the change. Garath decided that while he didn't think Reshion did the right thing, Garath himself had no right to judge. He remembered an old saying 'death can come as a blessing'. Prehaps Reshion did the best thing, Garath didn't know if he would want to live knowing he would turn and attack his friends. But he was a healer so he would never killl any for getting bitten. But he would not place blame on those that did. "Ok." He passed Reshion the needle and thread. "The past is the past. You cannot change it. If you regret then remember what not to do next time. But do not hold the bitterness to your heart. It prevents you from living." He said quietly as he got up. He normally hated when people gave up or felt sorry for them selves. So he tried to help REshion a bit before leaving him. He didn't like being around depressed people. He walked over tot he table. "I think I'll sit here. If that's ok?" He sat in the seat nearest Nina. He then helped himself to some of the spagetti. The smeel was delicious.
PostPosted: Fri Aug 17, 2007 7:59 pm

Reshion waited until Garath left before he started on his arm. The whole time Garath said what he had to, Reshion listened. When he left, Reshion thought about what he said. "He's right." He said, wincing slightly when the needle broke the skin, and he sewed up the wound.
After he was done, he bit the thread and went back into Nina's dad's room. He found another black undershirt, luckily, and also found two studded belts, which he put around his waist in the shape of an "X". He put the pistol in the middle of the belts and went downstairs, sitting in the seat next to Garath.
"Thank you again. The past is the past, and I shouldn't worry about it. Death is a blessing. That's why I killed her. I didn't want her to face the fact that she KNEW her impending death was coming. I just couldn't put her through that. But thank you. And I'll do my best not to become depressed. Once again, thank you." He clapped his hand on his shoulder and got some spaghetti. It was delicious.
"Crimson really outdid herself. So did Thomas. This is delicious." He said cheerfully, smiling.
Reshion was starving. He hadn't eaten in two days. Nor had he slept. But he had to stay strong for the people in this house. He had to.

Smiling wide, she grabbed a plate, watching people enjoy her spagetti, and twirled a fork in the pasta, and finally munched down.

MmmmMMmm.

The expression on her face must, must, have been of pure excasty, the warm pasta deliciously filling her mouth, with the random meatball to sooth her meat cravings.

Soon, she realized, she ate her whole plate, and looking around she asked,

"Did everyone have a serving?"

"So... Is it coming from the gun store you think?" Nicholas mumbled to his sister after Mizuki voiced himself. Before Kalila could answer him Mizuki continued. Kalila and Nicholas listened intently to the young man. They nodded every so often to show they understood and ageed. As Mizuki spoke of the goggles and masks both siblings put them on completely, instead of letting them hang on their necks or placed on their foreheads. As Mizuki spoke, every so often Kalila would glance towards the store. I swear I see something. she thought looking below the sign for Lev's Gun Shack. There was movement, a lot of movement. It was like when Kalila had seen the rats moving around below them when they were first parcoring. The movement looked angled towards the store as the bass of the music still thumped.
"There is movement by the store." Kalila stated blushing. She felt bad for interrupting, but she had share this piece of information. "It's going towards the gun store. I really think the music is coming from inside it." She mumbled, looking at her feet in embarrassment.

Before Nicholas could get angry at David, Mizuki addressed him and he twitched slightly, caught off guard. He nodded in understanding "Southwest after your signal, then go down. Got it." He said with a nod. It was all seriousness now. The little arguement with his older sister forgotten.
As Mizuki left them and continued downward Nicholas looked away from him and looked about. As he looked he unzipped his backpack and took out an onion bomb. He complained silently to himself about stink that waffed from the backpack and shut it quickly. He looked in the Southwest direction to decide how and he was going to throw it. Kalila kept her eyes on Mizuki and sometimes darted her eyes ahead of him to see if she could see something ahead of him and perhaps warn him in advance about it. Her hand subconsciously had made its way to the hilt of the katana gifted to her. From the angle the small group stood at, looking at Mizuki looked a lot like a movie or video game. The thought was bitter sweet to Kalila. But mostly bitter. I can't believe our boring, normal human lives have turned into such an animalistic strain for survival. The movies don't even show half of it. she thought with a sigh out loud. No way was she enjoying this, but she couldn't help but be a little bit thankful for the action in her life. Mizuki waved up at them.
"Nicho... Go for it." She said while waving back to Mizuki, to show him she did indeed did see him.
"I don't know where to throw it... Where do I throw it Kali?" He asked looking at his sister. "I was thinking that allyway... Make it bounce off the walls again to spread the crap around more." He said waving off the area in front of him. A quick pause as his sister's mind processed and then Kalila squaked.
"No! Nononononono!" She whispered urgently to her little brother. "Those allies might connect with the ones we're going to walk through." She said looking over her shoulder quickly in Mizuki direction. "Throw it..." She said tippy-toeing and looking in the Southwest direction. "At that billboard." She said finally, pointing with her nose. Nicholas looked over at the billboard. It was a commercial for a local lawyer who could get you money if you were hurt in a car accident. Nicholas nodded his approval. I'm aiming right for that fake @$$ smile. he thought with a smirk slowly spreading on his face. It was angled in a diagnol to their direction, but mostly in their direction. It was angled for people to see coming down the road and the other roads leading on to that road from the opposite direction Mizuki was walking in. "Throw it really hard." Kalila continued with a slight tone of authority. "That way the hit will make the spice fly off away from us." She said.

Nicholas glared at the billboard in concentration. "Go ahead down you guys I'll go after you guys." he said, then sucked in enough air to fill his lungs in one quick breath. He held his breath, jerked his arm back, and jerked it forward as hard as he could. "Darn..." He said airily, letting his breath go, and with a snap of his fingers to express his disappointment. He had hit the corner of the man's smile on the billboard instead of right on. There was now a red, orange, and yellow mixed smug on the corner of the man's mouth. The onion part fell to the ground ungacefully with a powder trail. But most of it had come out in another colorful burst when it hit the board. The spices travelled out and spread around in the air, resembling a dying firework. A momentary pause, lasting about six seconds, and then gargled roars of elation could be heard in the direction away from Mizuki as well as the far away right of him. It seemed the infected nearer to the gun store the music poured out of could care less. It was actaully a good thing for the group.
"Good job." Kalila said quickly and looked at David. "You really have to go first." She said to David looking at his chest instead of his eyes, so she wasn't disrespecting him. "You have a bladed weapon and a gun and Mizuki has a gun, that's a good combo for the front." She said with a nod. "Nicholas, Alex, and I can go together. Nicholas has a gun and blade, Alex has a gun, and I have just a blade... So we can compensate for each other for the rear. Is that ok with you?" She asked quickly, urging him with her eyes to quickly go down the ladder and not leave Mizuki alone.
Nicholas and Kalila stood on either side of the ladder, waiting for him to go down it so they could go down next.

Back at the house Nina grinned at Garath and nodded vigorously in response to his question. "Go ahead... sit sit!" She said happily. Then Reshion came and sat next to Garath.
Nina waited for all of them to have some before she took any to make sure everyone had a good amount so she didn't have to force feed anyone for energy. As everyone started on their first bites Nina scooped up a plate full for Thomas and sat it in front of an empty chair. She then proceeded to do the same for herself. A meatball rolled acrossed the table towards her but she quickly caught it a stuck it in her mouth quickly.
"Sowwy..." She said to Crimson, covering her mouth with her hand as she talked with her mouth full. She quickly chewed and swollowed as she used her napkin that was set out to clean the sauce mess of a trail left behind by the meatball. "Wow! That is just as good as it smelled!" she said happily and swirled a fork full and eat it. She ate happily. As she was finishing up her plate Crimson spoke up. "Yes." Nina said, having observed it herself. "Now we just have to leave some for the..." She counted on her fingers. "The five people left." She said with a nod.

The taste was as good as the smell. It had been ages since he had last eaten spagetti and it reminded him so much of home. "My cmoplements to the chefs." He siad smiling. It was good to finally have something in his belly again. He hadn't eaten since that morning before getting separated from the band. He chackled abit watching Nina catch the rolling meat ball. "Seems some meat balls object to getting eaten." He woundered when the others would get back. He hoped they would return soon.

[[Sorry for not posting guys.]]

Thomas, after finishing the dishes, walked over to the table to find Nina, Garath, and Crimson eating the Spaghetti. Crimson finished hers pretty fast, and Garath was sitting next to Nina.

I guess he does like her. Okay, now I can write that down on my mental notebook.

Thomas sat down and started picking at the Spaghetti that Thomas assumed was saved for him.

"Hey Nina, I was thinking. Since Garath has medicine for Reshion, we could put some good use to that other stuff. Ginseg was it...? Well I was thinking... Maybe we could put it in some of the leftover meat when we try to go to a Wal-Mart. We could throw the meat into a group of zombies, after they eat it, they shouldn't be able to pursue us any longer."

Contributing to the group was important to him. It made Thomas feel important, like he's needed, or appretiated.

Thomas picked up a meatball with his fork and took a bite out of it. It was pretty good. Crimson did a good job. He never really got a GOOD home made meal. It was always either pizza from that place next to the video game store or some poorly made easy mac at home.

beaming at everyone, she took a little second serving and then put the lid on the pot.

"The pot is for the others when they come back."

Nodding towards Thomas, she smiled at his suggestion and exclaimed,

"Wow, that's really good. Especially since they're already spastic."

Ada's jaw dropped when she lay her eyes on the gaping bite on Eri's arm. She took out her pistol and pointed it at Eri's head. "We trusted you enough to stay here!" She roared. Her screams had completely overpowered the barely audible music. "You put Nikita and me in danger! The least you could do was TELL US!" She screamed again, but all of her features suddenly froze as she thought, That was Nikita's shirt... She did tell him. She just didn't tell me. For some reason, the thought that Eri would tell Nikita and not herself came as a slap in the face. It's not like I'm untrustworthy! She was about to resume her yelling, when her all expressions fell from her face again. It was my fault she was bit. When they broke into the shop... But she wasn't about to admit to it. Not yet, atleast. "When did this happen?" She cried, her gun still pointed at Eri's face. "Answer me!"

Back on the roof, Nikita was looking through the scope on his AK47. He was glad that he had something to do now. It calmed him to kill the zombies that were attracted by the music. It took his mind off of Eri and allowed him to focus on a single thing. He spotted a new wave of zombies headed his way. He squeezed the trigger and watched them fall. There were more zombies coming, but he decided to wait until they came closer to kill them. I just want the visual satisfaction. He thought, surprised by the way he was thinking. He took a deep breath and cleared his mind with the sound of the music. My flesh on it’s flesh with gravity on my side. His mind screamed along with the music. But his mind kept wandering. How am I supposed to keep Eri alive when she's already infected? She's doomed to die anyways. But he snapped back to reality in time to shoot down the crowd of zombies that had gotten closer. He took his hand off of the trigger when he had finished them off. His wrist was hurting something fierce. I should probably take some aspirin soon. He thought as he moved his wrist around in a circular motion.

The song he was enjoying had finished and in those three seconds that it took for the next song to start, he heard Ada's screams coming from below. Crap. She knows. He thought as he ran to the latch door and made his way downstairs. When he reached the girls, he found Ada pointing her gun at Eri. He immediately ran to Ada and gave her a bear hug from behind. "Relax!" He whispered in her ear. "She's just a kid. You wanna be the one to kill her?" He still had her in a bear hug, hoping that having her restrained would keep her still. "If you were bitten, you would want me to wait until you turned. You know you'd still be useful even if you were infected." He told her. When she had stopped struggling to get free, he released her from his hold. He watched her as she looked at the child and then walked away. s**t. I can't believe she bought that. He thought with relief. He faced Eri. She looked terrible. "Hey." He said as he walked towards her. He was hesitant to touch her, afraid that he might catch her virus. "I'm sorry about all this. It isn't your fault. She's had a lot to deal with recently." He was being sincere. It wasn't Eri's fault. Ada had been acting strange since before the attacks. Since her father died. Nikita thought sadly. "But anyways, you feeling any better?"

As Thomas spoke realization went through Nina like an electric shock. She looked away from the group, into the kitchen, at the cabinet that held all the herbs and spices.
"There is just one problem with that theory." She said smiling sheepishly. "Ginseng doesn't nessessarily relax muscles... It gives energy, relaxes the mind from stress, helps the body cope with stress, and helps the mind work better... That's not such a good idea. We would just give them a better chance of getting us." She said looking away from the group at her lap. Oh my God... I could have just made a terrible mistake that would cost us our lives... Nina thought sadly. But she was still thankful for being able to remember it. "But it's an absolute brilliant idea! What you were trying to do I mean." She said feeling very awkward. She specially tried to block herself from Garath because she didn't want him to think she was stupid. That would just upset her so much. "The herb that we could do that with would be kava kava... That is the herb that relaxes muscles." She said peaking back up at the group. "We could thaw out pieces of meat, marinate or stuff them with kava kava, and give those b*st*rds a one-way ticket with the floor!" She said with a grin. "There muscles are hard with near death anyway... It should work like a charm." She said standing up from the table.

Nina walked around the table and lifted everyones finished plates and took them to the kitchen, which was right next to the dining room.
