Minty Andee "Thank you." She accepted the jacket, eagerly throwing it over her shoulders, "Silly me for thinking it would be warm in the summer." "Paradoxes are boring and they give me a migraine." She stuck her tongue out to emphasis her disgust, "I've heard from other travelers that the effects of a paradox will get worse if you let them go on too long, but I've never let mine get that bad." "We should thank our lucky stars while we're out here that space travel has yet to be achieved on my home planet. Not that grandmother would ever leave the island anyways." (Yay for being right! Now excuse me while I shove Minty's foot right down her throat.) "It is likely just a draft coming off the water," he replied, already doubting his words though. He let it slide though, and settled instead on listening to her explanation of time paradoxes. "How would one end a paradox?" he asked curiously. She seemed rather open to answering questions. So long as she was fine with it, he had many questions to ask. He chuckled at the mention of lucky stars. Oh goodness, if she only knew. He looked back up at Orion. "Well, if that hunter is your star set of choice, then those stars would be Bellatrix and Alnitak." He paused when the words "home planet" and "island" came up. "So you are not from Gaia either?" he asked. That certainly contradicted with the idea of them not being able to space travel, however...

The Dragon Anon "And how does a tiara suddenly elevate me to dragon lord?" He seems bemused, "Is this how you propose in your culture or something?" "Even if it did, I'm not royalty," she reminded him. She had a feeling that this was just a thing now. She smirked, "Though I do know of some self-proclaimed kings here on Gaia. What's stopping you from being one of them?"

He smiles, though it doesn't quite reach his eyes, "If I wanted that kind of attention I would just go home."

"It feels...sadder? than just a draft from the water. Somehow." She shrugged, there really wasn't much to be done about the weather. "Normally, you just fix whatever caused it in the first place. For trickier paradoxes, you have to start really paying attention. They don't generally like being there anymore than you do and will help you arrange things so that they stop. It's usually not too hard as long as you posses a reasonable amount of intelligence and observational skills." His laugh made her smile, even if she had no idea why he was chuckling. "Bellatrix and Alnitak, huh?" She looked in their direction and saluted, "Thank you, loves. Keep up the good work." Now it was her turn to laugh, "Well, apparently you're not from Gaia, either. Is anyone? I've never met a native Gaian in all my years here. We come in spaceships, rips in space time, magical portals, shifts in the dimensions...I once met someone who seemed to turn up because Gaia desperately needed a bus system. None of us ever seem to be from here."

The Dragon Anon He smiles, though it doesn't quite reach his eyes, "If I wanted that kind of attention I would just go home." Ah...she had a feeling that might be the case. "Sorry, I didn't mean to bring up something unpleasant." She didn't like that kind of smile. She was a master at faking them herself. The eyes always gave it away though. She cleared her throat. "If it's any consolation, I like the Nefiriam that I got to know here the best. It's...easier to get to know someone when there's not a title or reputation coloring the glass."

"Titles over complicate things." He shakes his head and smirks, "But lets talk about something more pleasant, like how this tiara is mine now and is going straight to my hoard."

"That's a long story. Short version is; In my first life, those found to use magic were called witches. You were executed if captured. Since I was called a witch, I just kept the title," she explained, watching all the dancing party-goers.

I wonder what it is about this place that attracts so many of us." He leaned against the railing, "As for myself, no, I am not from Gaia. Though, I doubt I can consider a single 'world' as my home planet." He glanced at her. "Truthfully, my home is alongside those very stars we have been talking about, as well as all their brothers and sisters."

"My theory is Gaia's laissez faire attitude to things like the fore mentioned holes in space time. Most places have some sort of guardian entity against that sort of thing. Gaia has Deidrich." She leaned next to him, examining him closely trying to evaluate his statement. Normally she'd consider it flowery language for a space-traveler. But her conversation companion was also dressed like the love child of Van Gogh's Starry Night and an explosion in a glitter factory. "So you're...a celestial? Then?" She ventured.

The Phantom continued her watch of the spirit below. He must have been a groundskeeper or something of the sort. Every now and again, the ghost would approach a hedge with what looked to be a pair of shears. Although many would say his spectral life mundane, she could not help but be fascinated by it. Most often than not, these were her favorite ghosts to visit. There was bliss to their ignorance; a charm to their diligence. The broken tales that encompassed their life and what came after was as beautiful as a glass rose. The Phantom straightened from her lean against the railing. Silently, she vowed to visit the gardener after the ball ended.
Oh. Her face flushed as she realized she had entirely forgotten about the event. How long she had been distracted, she could not say.The Phantom turned away from the edge and took in her surroundings. It seemed she had company now on the balcony. The Prince and Minty conversed just a yard away. Using an ounce of will, the Phantom's form faded into existence. The soft glow that always surrounded her gave more light to the dim balcony. She curtsied in greeting to them both.

He grimaced at the memory of Diedrich. "Yes. I am quite familiar with that one...and his children." Being attacked by them the Easter that he had decided it might be a good idea to walk around with a carrot in his hand was all too fresh in his mind. She seemed to evaluate him, and from the look of her eyes, he could tell there was a heavy focus on the stardust that refused to wash away. He was cleaner than normal, but when it came to him, that was not saying much. "My particular people call ourselves Stellars, but yes." He straightened. "I suppose, though late, this might be a time for proper introductions?" He bowed politely. "I am Astraeus, one of the hosts for this evening. Though many around here know me better as Starry or the Starlight Prince."Edit: As he did so, he noticed a certain phantom appear. Ah, so that is where the temperature change came from. He stood upright and gave her a nod of greeting, deciding not to speak until the other gave her introduction first.

"I suppose we have managed to work our way around to where we probably should have started," Her mirth dancing in her words as she returned the bow with a low curtsy, "My friends here call me Minty. Which name would you prefer I use?" She caught his nod as she rose from the curtsy and turned her head to see Phantom appearing on the balcony. "I see we have company. Hello, Phantom. It's been ages."

Her head tilted to the side as she spotted the jacket on your shoulders. Last she knew, it was summer. Realizing the fault was her own, she tightened her control and the cold emanating off of her abruptly warmed a few degrees. She floated nearer to see you both more easily. As she did, her eyes spotted a curious device. "A sextant?"

(Sorry again! Fell asleep) Cid had shaken her head at the offer to fix the corsage. Knowing her it would just end up messed up again. She smiled at the pair, giving them both a nod of greeting, and stepped back toward the table to get some more water. She could apologize once they had finished dancing. It would be a shame to break up their fun at that moment.
