Larkanna walked through the city, smiling and nodding at whoever she passed, and when she did pass someone, they all bowed to her as if she were some sort of queen and nothing more than just a figure of high standing within the witch community. Upon reaching the middle of the city, there was a huge tower that stood as a place for meeting with other witches and the transferring of knowlege. Entering the building, she walked through the lobby-like area and to the teleportation device that lay in the center of the room. Stepping onto it, she and Elkand were transported to the highest room of the tower where six other witches sat around a table. Sitting at the open seat, she gazed around the others. "Merry meet, my friends." She said in an emotionless tone.
The others replied "merry meet" in return to her greeting. That's when business began. There were trolls threatening to attack from the mountains in the east and the elven community had failed to respond whether they would help or not.

Elkand stayed silent as they spoke before he decided to interject "My master and I can deal with the trolls." he said " If need be I can call upon my brethren but trolls are hardly a threat to wizards and witches." he said " Elves are hardly ones to get involved in the problems of others but my kind are."

The Witches of the High Circle all stared at Elkand in wraith form for several minutes before nodding, "Yes, yes," One said, "He obviously knows his mistress well."
Larkanna stood, "Then if I'm to stop this from becoming a full-on war with the trolls, I'd better prepare myself and my wraith for a harsh argument." Motioning for Elkand to follow, they stepped into a portal and reppeared in Larkanna's room. Sighing, she said, "Are you sure that you're up to such a task when you're still weak from your curse?"

Elkand nodded " I'm well enough to aid you in taking down the trolls." he said "Believe me I would not say such a thing if I knew I wasn't ready." he said and looked up " It just depends if you are as well." he looked down at her staring through the shadows of his hood.

Larkanna nodded and walked over to a chest. Taking out a long grey robe with a hood that would cover her face, she pulled it on over her dress, which turned into a tunic with the snap of her fingers. Straping her belt around her tiny waist and a sword sheath onto that, she then murmured something to enchant the sword into one that would be able to pierce troll skin. Troll skin was known to be too tough for a normal sword to peirce. Turning back to him, she summoned a portal and said, "This will take us to the foot of the mountains. Any closer and I fear that the trolls will smell us before we can gain the element of surprise."

Elkand nodded to her " Wise you are." he said and went to the portal with her. When they stepped through he remained clam as he teleported though he preferred flight this would have to do. He stood at the foot of the mountains and looked around " And here we are.." he said reverted back to normal ' Thank you....that was just creepy." he said and smiled though he kept his energy hidden he flipped his hood down " You have no idea what its like to change your energy and power to appear like a wraith..its kinda terrifying since its kinda threatening to take hold and never let go." he said.

When Larkanna stepped through the portal, she tried to smile but failed. A wave of pain flashed through her body, forcing her to her knees, her form changing from her petite female form to one of more masculine proportions. Standing back up, she looked like a man instead of a woman, but her voice was still that of a female, "I would complete the transformation, but too much magic would draw too much attention to us. That there is enough to set off some speculation from their sentries." Situating her robe again, she began to walk up the path, hood covering her face, "I would assume that it would be a terrifying energy... I have never used such magic and I never intend to. It's too dark for someone of my natural talents."

Elkand looked at her and stared as she transformed to look like a guy but she still sounded like a woman. He looked at her and shook his head " I guess though I'm sure a man with a woman's voice isn't as creepy as a wraith." he said his voice filled with sarcasm and he smiled " Lets get going." he said and walked behind her hood on head as he blanked his eyes to make himself appear blind and stuck close to her as if she was guiding him.

Laughing, Larkanna took his hand, acting as his guide. "For the most part, we'll appear to be travelers and will probably stop us to see if we have anything good on us before trying to eat us." She shuddered at the thought of how many people thought that if they gave away their belongings to the trolls that they would be able to pass safely. They were more cunning than they appeared and she knew it for a fact. "They will only come to us in pairs or one by one, because htey don't like to compete for humanoid snacks like us. Wait until their guard is completely down before striking."
As if on cue, two trolls jumped down from the rocks above, "What are two little morsels like yourselves doin' 'ere?"
"I'm taking my uncle across the mountains to get away from the witches." She said, her voice changing into that of a young man's.
"Ah, so you're wizards?" Asked the second.
"Yes, and if we can pass, we'll give you whatever you desire."
"Well, there appears to be nothing we can take... other than your juicy legs!" Both lunged at them clumsily and Larkanna held out a hand and both flew backwards, pushed by an invisible wave of magic.
Stepping forward, she unsheathed her sword and put them out of their misery before nodding for Elkand to follow quickly. "Their comrades won't find them until a shift of duty."

Elkand remained silent as she spoke to the trolls though he knew they wouldn't let them pass whether they were wizards or not beacuse trolls were rather stupid that way. After she dispatched of the trolls he blanked his eyes and flipped his hood down "Alright lets go." he said and ran after her to where they had to go. These trolls were going to be annoying at best.

As they continued up the mountain, Larkanna heard a loud roar further up. Launching towards the wall, dragging Elkand with her, she leaned her back against it, flattening herself as she gazed about, wondering what on earth that had meant. Please don't let it be that they've just found their comrades dead.... She inwardly prayed as two formed dashed past them, sprinting down the slope as fast as their legs could carry them. Hounds the size of ponies were in pursuit of them, tongues lolling and eyes blazing red. About a minute after that, several trolls trotted after the hounds, mumbling about how these magical amulet thieves were really getting troublesome and how they would prepare them as a meal.
Once they had passed and no more would be coming soon, she looked at Elkand, "Maybe this is why they're targeting the witches? If these 'thieves' have been stealing precious amulets that possess magical qualities, then their first assumtion would be that the witches have been sending people to steal them."

Elkand nodded ' It is quite possible that may be what the issue is." he said " Trolls are vengeful and stealing from them especially in great number can send them on quests." he said " I've stolen from trolls for test but I often returned what I stole...they probably want their things back, maybe we should try to find the people who stole them and return them and things will clam down." he said and looked at her wondering if it was a good idea.

Larkanna nodded, "Finding the source is a good place to start." Then her curiosity got in the way of their current goal. "What about them? I mean, yes, they have precious items, but they aren't the craftiest of creatures. They wouldn't waste their time making magical amulets when they have little magic up their sleeves in the first place. They've never liked magical folk because of their disadvantage.... There's got to be some sort of magician making such items for them or lending them their magic for something in return."

Elkand nodded " Well that might be true but..." he looked off to the side and tried to think of something. He looked back at her " Either way we should find out who's stealing them in the first place before we figure out who made the trolls these objects." he said. He was curious to find out who made these objects for the trolls but for right now they should figure out who was stealing them.

Larkanna nodded, "That's probably a good idea. Onward ho!" Then she flipped her hood back as her form shifted back into that of her feminine form, looking like the true Larkanna again. Sprinting after the trolls, hounds, and pair of thieves, she used a spell that would allow only them to see the thieves' true path. The thieves' path was red whilst the trolls' and hounds' was blue. With another spell, they were given the speed of lightning, dashing past the trolls and hounds silently and appeared to be only a blur. When they had caught up with the hooded theives, they had caught them just in time, because a portal opened and they entered it after glancing around for prying eyes. Running right through the portal after them before it closed, she canceled the speed spell and they were surrounded by the darkness of a cave. Several meters ahead were their quarry, not noticing the witch and wizard that had tracked them all the way through the portal. "There are more people in this cave, so prepare your spells and weapons for sentries."
