The boy nods with a shrug. "It didn't look magical..." he said thoughtfully. "so I guess you are right. I won't touch anything of yours... but can you please not leave anything in the kitchen?" he begs thinking that he might get hungry sometime and wouldn't wanty to trigger something when getting a snack.

Okay...but know this, Passura...if you do touch something...I will know...and I will spank you...understood...some of my things are even more dangerous than that...especially my sword. Do not...under any circumstances....touch my blade...understood?

The boy gives him a solemn nod and bows. "I will never ever touch your sword, mes'sirrah. But you better tell me what a sword is so I know what I'm not supposed to touch."

*Kero nods, and goes into his room, bringing out his sheathed sword, drawing it very carefully...only by the hilt...never touching the blade*
This is a sword...forged from one of my master's scales....wickedly sharp...and powerfully enchanted...only I can touch the hilt or blade...and the blade cuts even me...do not touch, okay....and this is why:
*Causes a dying plant to move over to him...it has lived its life and gone to seed...and he slashes through the stalk...and all the seeds drop off as the plant withers to dust*

Sometimes, people try to hurt me...or those that I love....and I use this when I must, to protect them...I don't like to kill Passura....but I'm very like a snake...I don't want to bite...but I will...I hate to fight...but I will...I despise killing....but that won't stop me from doing what needs to be done. If someone attacks you...this blade is what they will see...

Passura nods and tells him to put it away. "I'm not defenseless... or I won't be in a few days." He says after Kero sheathes the blade. "Once my venom sacs fill... I can kill if need be, too. But we are taught not to do so unless we are doing so to save another's life."

Exactly my philosophy...the plant here was naught but an example...*Goes and puts up the blade*...now, how about we start on math...can you count to ten?

The boy rolls his eyes and laughs. "I can count to one hundred and ten... that's how many people we had in... our... tribe..." he falls silent for a bit then shrugs.

The boy, being what he is, doesn't believe this is so, but he doesn't say anything. Instead he hugs Kerobian back and smiles weakly. "It sounds horrible outside. I... I don't think we should go next door to eat. Wherever it stormed the babies would all cry..." he shudders at the thought and Kerobian realizes that to Passura the sound of a baby crying was a mental cry, not the physical irritating wails of Tam and Bez's daughters. No wonder the lad thought they were screeching.
