31. The sound of a marimba or the sound of a vibraphone? vibes! I love vibraphones...I got to play one my freshman year because we had no decent percussionists who could play bells

33. Flavored Reeds or Plastic Reeds? um...IDK, I don't really play a reed instrument, but I like wooden reeds. That's not a choice though.

41. Have you won a drill-down before? (Or have gotten really close…?) Yes. I won the all-freshman one my freshman year. And I also got really, really close to winning one of the drill-downs (they call them march-offs) at Drum Major Academy. I got second, but it was just me and one other girl for about ten minutes until he called an oblique (which, by the way, I'd never actually done before) from a backwards march. I would have been fine, but the other girl went backwards instead of forward and threw me off, and at DMA, when you hesitate you get out, so she won. Still, second place out of a bunch of drum majors is pretty good (although I did have the advantage of being a vet. - I'd heard his kind of commands before and knew how to respond, whereas for most people, his commands are entirely new).

43. Post your favorite instrument from all three different sections (Woodwinds, Brass, and Percussion)…then post your favorite guard equipment. (So post 4 different things!) hmm...flute, horn, and timpani, or if you only count marching instruments, flute, mello, and quads/quints (what we call ours, as they have 5 drums). As for guard, I love the big, flowy flags that look so awesome.

44. What size reed (woodwind)/mouthpiece (brass) do you use? (and for percussion and color guard people…I guess what size and what kind of drum sticks/mallets you have/use and for color guard…how much your rifles weighs?) I use a horn mouthpiece, about average size (Conn 2, I think) and my flute doesn't really change much... My mello has a king mouthpiece (I think it's a typical mello mouthpiece, although it is NOT a horn mouthpiece, it resembles a trumpet mouthpiece) and I have no idea what my trumpet has. Just a typical mouthpiece.
