Minty Andee Starlight Princess Lucky "When?" he repeated, catching the word choice. So she was a time traveler, or something along those lines. Despite his curiosity, he would let it slide if she didn't want to speak more on the matter. He knew of time travelers who were bound to secrecy, and for very good reason. If that was the case here, he would respect it, especially since she did not realize who she was speaking with. "Ah, that one is a very good listener," he replied, looking up at the familiar constellation. "Although, my personal favorite is not the hunter, but his companion." He gestured to the bright star tailing behind the constellation. "When I was a boy, my father would say that if there was ever one I wished to confide in, yet no one was about, speak to Sirius. He is a loyal companion who has shined brightest in the night sky for many years. Many have seen him as a sense of warmth, a guide, and a friend. For that, affection he has been shown, he will listen to your secrets, and keep them for eternity." He chuckled slightly. "I am unsure if that is necessarily what Sirius thinks, but I for one have never heard him speak of a secret relayed to him. Have you?" "Yes, when." She affirmed, "One day I'll travel by earring and not end up in the wrong time. But not today. At least it had the decency to dump me at a party while it recharged." "No, I've never heard Sirius share a secret," She laughed heartily, "But I would feel like I was betraying Orion if I switched confidants now. And I don't believe that the fact I detested the doll my grandmother got me for my eighth birthday is really an 'all eternity' sort of secret." He could only imagine how difficult the movement actually was. Using stardust was no easy task, and that was moving in a single timeline in a single dimension. Time travel added so many factors that he did not wish to dwell on. He chuckled at the mention of the secret. "Perhaps, though I suppose that also means you have quite the forgiving grandmother. Any children of mine would have to tell Sirius if they were dissatisfied with what my mother gave them."

Lost to her thoughts, the Phantom did not realize the balcony was occupied until she had reached it. The prince and Minty were engaged in a conversation and looking to the sky. Oddly enough, there was a sextant present. Fading out of sight once more, she ignored them and floated to the corner of the balcony. It was as far a space as she could give them. She leaned against the railing and stared at the sea.
Moments later, her gaze shifted to the grounds below. Despite the darkness of the night, she could make out the hedges and trees of the landscape. Even this far away, she could sense the ghost that lingered there. The spirit was very weak, more than a walking memory than anything. Either way, it was a welcome distraction for her.

Any children of mine would have to tell Sirius if they were dissatisfied with what my mother gave them." "It wouldn't be the first time I've ended up in prehistory. There's a learning curve, to be sure. It helps to learn to enjoy where you are until you can be somewhere else. Perhaps ironically, you can't be in a hurry to travel through time. Thank you for the luck, though. I'm sure I'll need it." She laughed again, "Especially if grandmother ever learned about the doll. It's still a secret from some people. And what if your children preferred to whisper their secrets to someone else? Or keep them in a diary? You make it sound so decided already."

"It sounds to me as if you have a particular fondness for this point in time, however," he noted, recalling how she said she overshot her return. That must have meant she had been here before. "Any particular reason why?"He cleared his throat at the comment regarding his mother and alternatives to keeping secrets from her. "It would only be Sirius who could keep a secret from that one, I assure you."[I love how they're just casually chatting it up and haven't even had any introductions yet XD]

"That's because you only know one small part of me." Her lips lifted into a small grin as she raises her right index finger. A small flame emerges from the top. "Unlike her's, my magic matches that of a witch."

She just looks confused, "Magic is magic, isn't it? It's more about how the person uses it than the magic itself. That's what mother says anyway."

Minty shivered as Phantom's invisible presence started to effect the air on the balcony. She had selected her dress to be hot, not warm. "Specifically? I need to give myself something back that I borrowed before I get stuck in a paradox. I have a fondness for not being stuck in paradoxes." Her voice was wry, "Generally? The first time I lived through now I was retired. Well, trying hard to be retired. I believe I'm off somewhere forming some happy memories right now." She grinned, crinkling her nose, "Your mother and my grandmother sound like they would be fast friends. I hope they never meet. We'd all be in trouble." She shivered again, rubbing her arms for warmth. When did the summer air get so cold? (Minty's come too far. She has no idea who he is and no idea how to ask at this point. xD She's just gonna roll with it. Also I hope I interpreted what Phantom was doing correctly! ^^;; )

It took a few moments of processing to decipher what she had said. Once he did, he nodded slowly. "I can't imagine a time paradox is a pleasant thing...However all of this is quite interesting. How did you become a time traveler?"He chuckled, "Unless your grandmother happens to know how to space travel as well, I believe we are fine."He was beginning to notice the chill too, and glanced around, trying to find a source. It didn't feel as if the temperature outside had dropped. Rather, it felt as if it was a cold draft from somewhere. Seeing the other shiver, he slipped off his coat and offered it to her. "Here. You need this more than I for now."

"Thank you." She accepted the jacket, eagerly throwing it over her shoulders, "Silly me for thinking it would be warm in the summer." "Paradoxes are boring and they give me a migraine." She stuck her tongue out to emphasis her disgust, "I've heard from other travelers that the effects of a paradox will get worse if you let them go on too long, but I've never let mine get that bad." "We should thank our lucky stars while we're out here that space travel has yet to be achieved on my home planet. Not that grandmother would ever leave the island anyways." (Yay for being right! Now excuse me while I shove Minty's foot right down her throat.)

The drivers held their breath as the coin did it's acrobatics. It finally clattered to the ground, into the moment of truth as Laney picked it up."It looks like...heads!" Part of Lewis was almost disappointed, until he reminded himself that this was possibly only the first dance. But he was also happy in a way, to be forcing Mo out of her comfort zone. He gave the apprentice a surprisingly creepy, almost gleeful Cheshire cat grin. "Well, you know what that means, Mo..." Mo gulped. She looked like she wanted to flee and find a tree to climb. But working as a bus driver with her seniors had taught Mo to have a bit of a "Go Big or Go Home" bravado. Her mentor Jimmy had always preferred to face his problems by charging in head on, so that's what Mo would try to channel now. "Alright." The apprentice squared her shoulders. "I'll try not to trip over anything... Or step on anything... Or knock anything over... Or give you any trouble. Whenever you're ready, Laney." "You'll be fine Mo, just have patience with yourself. I guess I might go help myself to some punch now while I'm at it. Maybe I'll run across Nate somewhere." Lewis gave the two women a deep, formal bow. "Ms. Laney, if you're still up for another dance afterward at some point, I'd love to accompany you." Mo gave him a Look over her shoulder.
Something about Danny's attitude as she introduced herself made Nate grin. "Do people get their faces punched in a lot?" He almost wanted to see that now. "My name's Nate, and sorry if I'm a bit of an a*****e. Most of the time I try to only throw these at practice targets. It's only when I get really pissed off that I throw them at people. Or my coworkers..." He muttered the last bit to himself. "So you drive a bus."Nathan nodded. He'd pretty much abandoned most of the pocket squares in favor of paying more attention to her. Only because she had come to talk to him, not at all especially because she was holding one of his knives... "Yeah. I drive for the Grasshopper Express, we're a local system. Bit of a pain in the a** sometimes, but the benefits are decent and the rest of the crew's pretty good." He eyed her for a moment, thinking to himself. "I don't think I've really seen you around on the bus though... Guess you probably drive." Nate watched her with the knife as she spoke. Something told him she probably knew about how to use it, but he actually found that idea comforting. Speaking of comforting, he reached over and grabbed the lone Aries pocket square, studying the pattern. "Off work, or is it like one of those weird party bus situations?" She asked him, Nate shrugged. "Both... kinda? Technically I'm not working right now. We get a few invites to places like this in exchange for bus service for the guests, but they wouldn't really count this in the log books. This usually isn't my kind of thing anyway, but I wound up here with two of my coworkers. The boss said to 'have fun'. Pfft... There actually will be some of our buses around later tonight to help people get home, but I don't have to drive if I don't wanna. What about you?"
