You're right. ::Jasmine said, with such a passive, harsh tone it was hard to tell whether she was hiding her mood, or secretly kicking herself for being an ignorant old fool::
I ought to have trusted you. ::She suddenly snarled indignantly, before nearly THROWING the cup down:: And I expect YOU to not treat US like the blind dumb and deaf!!!
Ladies, I-
These beasts have a right to know what is happening in their own abbey!!!! Even if they don't appreciate it!!!!
Ladies-
And what do you THINK, saying you're not OBLIGED to tell us what Martin may or may not say?!?!
WILL BOTH OF YOU BE QUIET!??!!? ::Even Eula, nor Whisper or anybeast else could have argued with this voice, as a badger paw hit the ground, with enough force that it could send both of them to their backsides, Jasmine already taking the fall, the tea tray bouncing up and then back down into place, and Gem having found a new perch on a tree, as Sideswipe remained very, very still for a few moments, a strange, lost and powerful look in his eyes as he turned on both of them...::
Far be it from me to demand anything... but would both of you... please... just listen to yourselves?! ::He slowly, slowly began to soften as he returned slowly to his former position, yes he was kindly, yes he was resiliant to many an insult or friendly prank or two... but it was never to be forgotten, he was a badger::
I leave the abbey for how many seasons... and return to this...? ::He looked, forlorn to both of them, one after the other:: What has happened to this abbey that everybeast turns on another in such a harsh and barbaric-like manner?
Jasmine... Eula is right, she is the one chosen for these visions, it is her and her alone who is responsible for them... ::The vixen went to open her mouth, when the sudden look of the badger silenced her::
Eula. ::He turned to Eula, changing back to the same pleading look:: Jasmine is right... that others have a right to know what concerns their home... if even knowing what we don't know... look what's happened thus far from this manner of secrets this and that?
::He turned his eyes back up as Gem returned to perch, an apologetic look on her face, but no more to say as she fidgeted a little:: But as much as we may want to know... I can only ask you... can you tell us, all you can about this premonition?
Donato, we know, has been allowed to learn from you... ::He waved a paw to the other hare, almost as a welcoming gesture back to the conversation:: ...Will you at least let the elders of the Abbey know, so that they may at least understand the truth?
Please? ::Gem finally spoke up, still in a voice wrapped in guilt and sorrow most definitely genuine::

Eula pressed her paws against her temples, closing her eyes as if she was trying to block out the whole scene, though she continued listening to Sideswipe in silence. She let Sideswipe talk himself out, then opened her eyes. She looked at them with a tired expression on her features.
"Look," she said flatly. "I didn't keep it a secret because I wanted to hide it from everyone. I kept it secret because I have nothing to tell. At this very moment in time, you probably know just as much as I do."
She looked at Donato momentarily, then back at Sideswipe. "Even though I might have told Donato before anyone else, he was actually there, too. There... as in... my dream. His dream. Our dreams. Whatever." Eula was clearly just exhausted by everything at this point in time.
"As for knowing what Martin said," Eula continued calmly. "You know all of that. He only told me the riddle. The rest was Ura. What Gem heard me telling Donato - and the cause for her reaction at dinner - was that Faith is supposedly going to make some kind of decision that will be dangerous for Redwall." Eula left out "death," "doom" and "destruction," which were closer to the words she was using earlier. "What decision? I don't know. When will it happen? I don't know. I don't know anything else. So can't you understand why I didn't want to tell you that? I told you the riddle, because I imagine it has something to do with the same situation... but the rest... it only makes everyone worry, it doesn't help you."
"And there," she said tiredly. "Do with that what you will. But don't any of you dare be bothering me with this right now. I have family over that I've been wanting to enjoy visiting the past couple of days, but all I could do was worry about all this. So none of you bring it up, all of you leave me alone until they're gone, all right?"
She appeared finished, but she turned to Jasmine almost as an afterthought. "If you ever want to chew me out, maybe have the courtesy to pull me to the side and address your problem then? I'm really quite done with being treated like a child."

We're done. ::Jasmine didn't even give Eula the courtesy of looking her in the face as she had gotten back up now, and already, had begun to move back towards the Abbey, without another word in, as Sideswipe made a long sigh, shaking his head... and Gem looked back and forth between Jasmine and Eula...::
::Finally, the badger too rose, pointedly between Eula and Jasmine's path, and Gem remained in place, but quickly scrabbling back down his neck when she realised WHERE he was going as he moved over to the two hares, nodding thankfully to them::
...Even if you don't think it's much Eula... if it's all you can tell us, then it's certainly precious enough...
If the riddle and this are connected, at least we have both pieces of this puzzle... and it may help... ::He smiled again, trying to raise both their spirits as well::
Now, go on, go do whatever you were doing, and I'll handle the old battlevixen, okay?
You don't have to worry about this anymore, alright?

Eula watched Jasmine stand and leave without any real comment. No comeback, no apology, no understanding between the two of them. Frustrated, she just watched the vixen walk off, forced to bite her tongue. Eula didn't want to fight, she didn't want to argue with Jasmine - but she expected some form of respect, and instead Jasmine chewed her out, then hardly acknowledged Eula's side of the story.
She felt no such relief after telling Jasmine and Sideswipe about the situation as she had felt telling her father. Instead, she was thoroughly irritated by Jasmine's complete lack of understanding. She would NEVER win herself into that intolerable fox's good graces.
She didn't mean to be rude to Sideswipe, but she hardly paid him a bit of attention, instead turning about and making her way out of the orchard, opposite Jasmine's direction for fear she would say something she'd later regret.
UNBELIEVABLE! I try to get her to understand and I get THIS. She is completely impossible! How utterly unsympathetic can you get?

Donato watched the whole proceedings with consternation. There was no point at which he felt he could say a word until both Jasmine and Eula had stalked off. With the sigh of one who had just left a difficult examination, Donato looked at Sideswipe. He knew the badger had nothing to do with the whole fiasco; even though he'd been sitting before the two of them with Jasmine, he'd tried to be the voice of reason if anything. Donato was reminded how much he'd missed the badger in his absence. "Sorry," he said inclining his head in the direction Eula had left. "She probably doesn't want to lose it in front of you or Jasmine right now - as you can imagine." Grinning apologetically, Donato stepped off to go. "I'd better go see where she's off too." He didn't look at Gem.

::Sideswipe only nodded with a sympathetic smile, before he too turned away to his own attentions with a deep sigh...::
::But Donato would have seen if he'd at least tried to look... when Sideswipe turned around, there was no bat winged beast upon his back...::
::Instead, the little creature was leaping from tree to tree, one after the other in an attempt to keep in line with Eula, as she saw the hare keep moving, and each time tried to raise her voice to speak with the hare, but thus far, hadn't seemed to have gained enough confidence to show herself out... until finally, she leapt again, ready to speak:: Eula, I-
::And slipped::
::There was a collective series of yelps and cries, as she tangled herself in her overdone silks and dresses before tumbling to the ground and landing in a heap, just sitting there for a second in silence, and then, slowly, began to well up tears in her eyes as she bit her lip and tried to fight back crying out loud...::
::This REALLY didnt' look like a good image to walk in on...::

Eula moved quickly just long enough to get away from Sideswipe, and then slowed her pace some, knowing Donato would follow soon behind her. She had no desire to get away from Donato - at least HE was on her side... she hoped. She turned back, seeing him come up. She opened her mouth to say something when she heard a familiar voice back behind her. She rolled her eyes in frustration, right until she heard a series of cries and her eyes followed the descent of the young bat.
She looked skyward momentarily, sparing a momentary Why now? before hurrying over to Gem.
Groaning, she knelt by the bat. "Are you all right? You shouldn't be sneaking around like that, it's what got your mouth in trouble before," Eula mumbled. She looked genuinely concerned for her part though, checking to see if Gem had injured herself.

I...I'm okay... ::The bat sniffed, making an incredible attempt to not cry... although at anybeast passing dibbun life, it maybe wasn't much of an achievement... unless of course she really HAD hurt something, or it was just Gem...::
::She managed to uncurl her wings, slowly, both unfolding out... both fine, the rest of her still seemed to be all tangled in her clothes, but she managed to wipe at her face there::
...'s you worried about... ::She sniffed again, looking up slowly::
...you're not okay... annat's my fault... I wanted to say sorry an'... ow... ow... ow... ::She whimpered, peeling a leg out from her jumbled up ball of clothing::
::As genuine as Eula's concern, so too was Gem's apologetic nature, but how endearing it could be possibly was certainly questionable...::

Donato had walked quickly to catch up with Eula, not expecting her to slow up anytime soon. He was pleased to see her waiting for him and smiled for a moment until - thunk! He stopped for an instant to register what had happened before striding forward quickly and deliberately to kneel down beside Gem. He arrived just as Gem was disentangling her leg from her gown. "Gem, are you alright?" He asked, keeping his voice level - he'd learned that sounding worried when Dibbuns were crying only upset them more. He sincerely hoped Gem's leg wasn't broken, but he had a sinking suspicion that it was. "Eula," he began, glancing at her, "go get- Eula, wait here with Gem. I'm going to go find Jasmine."

((Hmmmm o_o What to do...))
I'm... I'm okay... ::She wiped her long sleeves over her eyes before she looked up at Donato, where it was obvious enough that she didn't feel okay, as she gave a sniff, at least disentangled now, before flapping her wings once, twice... both okay... arms... both okay... legs... she wiggled her toes and-::
Ow!! ::She whimpered, cringing as she drew in the left leg slowly, but left the questionable right leg lying out in front... a lot of her hurt, nothing more than bumps or bruises, but the leg certainly felt strange as she looked at it a little fearfully...::
They're not going to salivate it, are they...?

Eula watched as Gem tested all her limbs, then sighed again as the bat winced with the movement of her leg. Fantastic. She turned and looked at Donato, and nodded. "All right, go ahead," she mumbled, even though Jasmine was the last person on the face of the planet she really wanted to see at this moment in time.
She returned her attention to Gem, lifting an eyebrow. "I'm pretty sure no one is going to... ah... drool on it," she replied slowly. She knew the bat had been reaching for another word, but was not currently in the mood to decipher her speech.

::She took a second herself, trying to think what was the right word...::
Annotate... Ammorate... Angulate... ::Each one growing quieter and quieter as she thought on them... her ears were drooped, and admit it or not, her leg hurt::
::She slowly slid Eula a look and decided it was best not to complain... biting her lip, trying to keep quiet, even though her eyes still watered, she'd keep wiping at them::
::She'd wait a while, at least until they'd be alone to speak again...::
...Eula...? ::She sniffed finally:: Are we still frien's...?

Amputate? Eula almost offered, but withdrew herself from the guessing game. She turned a bit and watched Donato leave, attempting to tune out Gem’s sniffling. She turned reluctantly when the bat said her name.
Sighing, she set her paw on the ground behind herself for a moment, sitting down from her squatting position. “Gem, you know I’m angry with you, and I think you know you deserve it, too. But I’m not just going to hate you because you made a mistake.” Although that and a combination of her other annoying habits might do it.
“Look, you just need to start growing up and understanding what’s right and wrong. Listening to someone else’s conversation is wrong. There’s no way to accidentally hear a conversation... but if that’s going to be your excuse, you still should have come to me first and not blurted it out to everyone else.”
“If you see me speaking alone with someone, especially Donato, chances are we want to be alone. And we definitely don’t want anyone listening. You need to stop your eavesdropping habit, because it will make a lot of creatures very angry with you. There’s plenty enough time for you to talk to me or anyone during the day, but sometimes I want to talk to someone else when no one else is around, you understand? You can’t follow me around, and you can’t eavesdrop on my private conversations.”
She stopped and looked at Gem now, to see if the young bat was taking this all in.

Donato nodded and left with an absent wave at Eula. He hadn't even heard what Gem was saying; let Eula keep the little bat occupied - he'd better just find Jasmine. He quickly made his way into the Abbey and headed up toward the infirmary, glancing about for any sign of the vixen along the way.
