Tam nuzzles him again and shakes his head. "No one ye need to know about, kiddo... Done for the day? I'm starved. I want to go hunt."

*Kero nods, looking at Shar*
Can I go hunt, ma'am? I don't think we're going to learn any math today...

Sharmistra rolls her eyes and sighs. "Carnivores..." she mocked growled at them both. "Go on... no wait... I had a lesson plan made up with a test to judge your skill level. Why not take the test home and work on it tonight when you two get back. It's probably all we'd get covered today anyway." She helps him put a packet of papers in with his books and securely fastens the flap on his pack.
"Now tomorrow is a feast day and we don't have anyone in the clinic right now, so I won't be needing you for lessons or help. So if you find something you need help with, have your Dama help you, ok? But that doesn't excuse you from playing for the dawn services... You still need to be here for that, alright?"

Tam leads him off towards a densely wooded area far from the areas that the villagers use. Then she grins at him. "Shall we work together on this?" she asks with a wink. "There's a doe not far from here. I can sense no fawns, and she's not pregnant, so she's fair game in my book. I'll flush her out to you... I'm no good at hiding... stand out like a sore thumb..."

*Kero nods, slinking into the woods...disappearing like the shadow that he is...*
Note: I think it's about time for a few years fast-forward...what say you? Have something planned for this hunt?

*Three years passed, and Kero soon became accustomed to the routine of playing as he grew older. Even when he was released, he still played, simply because it was habit at that point, and he knew he still had a debt to pay. He was a normal kid in most other respects, albeit super-smart for one his age.
One day, though, the clouds were roiling, about to storm, as he and Tam walked towards the temple for his lessons with Shar and Mica, Thyrion the Salamander whirling around Kero to keep him warm and protected from the winter's rage. Suddenly, the salamander fell to the ground, twitching, as if he had been stunned.
Kero stumbles as well, and when Tam moves to help him, a bucket of ice water, liquid numbness (or so it feels like) falls over him, soaking him though his white fur. He blinks, writhing in slight discomfort, and then his body settles down again. He moves to wipe his brow with a paw...and stares when it is a hand again.
Kero, meanwhile, is shaking his head, wondering what the heck had happened to make him go all dizzy and to stun his favorite salamander*

After three years as a lion, Tam finds it awkward to stand on two feet, finally he regains his bnalance only then realizing he needs clothing and fast. Seeing Kero flabbergasted and stunned, he snatches him up and scoops up the groggy salamander as well, grateful that it is a rather cold winter morning and that no one is about. Stumbling back to the cottage, he leaps inside just in time to avoid being spotted by one of their neighbors going down to the well for water. He quickly places the salamander into the banked fire and reaches for a blanket to wrap about himself while he checks on Kerobian. The cottage is quite chilly, nowhere near as cold as it is outside, but they had avoided building the fire up as they were going out right after waking.

Tam shrugs, snatching at the blanket to keep it from falling form his shoulders. "One minute we were walking along... the next ye were dumping a bucket of water over us... or so I though... only I'm not wet... Listen... I'm going to look for something to put on, OK... you look after Thyrion, he got hit with it too... whatever it was. We work this out once I'm dressed."

*Kero nods, going over to the fire and building it up, but his magic slips through his paws...he can still handle it...but it's as if he was handling sand or water, not the craclkinf fire he's so used to...and he thanks Lathander that Mica taught him how to work with other things as well, or he couldn't use his power...finally, the fire is built, and the salamander is slowly recovering from its bout with whatever the effect was, and Kero goes to look for Tam*
Sira....are you alright?

Tam has found most of his clothing where he had put it years earlier, but he has lost quite a bit of weight along the way. Now he has no excess weight what-so-ever and needed to pull on two tunics and a pair of padded leggings to get warm. Kerobian finds him bent over, slowly pulling on a pair of socks. He looks up with a shaky grin and shrugs. "What the hell have I been eating... I'm skin and bones...." he complains with an uneasy laugh.

Tam chuckles and shakes his head, then drops to the floor to dig for his shoes. He looks at the bedroom and frowns. There is dust everywhere and a sense of dis-use hangs heavy in the air. The window is ajar and he quickly goes to fasten it shut, with a suspicion that he hasn't been using the room over much of late, wondering why he cannot remember any of that last few years. How long has it been since he went off riding into the night with Bez. It had to have been more than a few since Kero has grown so much.
