I guess ok for now. I'm currently working at a restruant that I quit like a year ago and I'll be starting college soon.

Naw not really. I don't start college till October 1st and work is just work. College will just be in the mornings for me.
Everything else is just boring up till then. How about you?

It just helps you to keep up to date with your work and ensures you understand the topic while also giving the teacher a break from teaching, I've had to do entire topics completley from self study and you'll have to do that too.

I'm in my last year of secondary school (upper sixth) and I have a hell of a lot of work to do at home. By doing exercises, drawing diagrams or just rote learning things, it helps them get into your memory and prepares you for the exam. If it didn't have a point, you wouldn't be doing it-believe me, the teachers are NOT just out to get you.
