When Reshion came back in Garath nodded and accepted his thanks. Maybe Reshion wasn't that bad a guy affter all. When Nina meantioned Wallmart he smiled. "I see no down side to wallmart. Preferably one with lots of lego." He liked lego when he was younger and it might be nice to do something familiar again. But he realised it was kind of imature to still like lego though. Ah well he did enjoy it and it would still be fun. "Staying in wallmart would be like forfilling a younger me's dream. So many toys." THe smells from down stairs were delicious. When Nina grabbed his hand to take him down stairs he followed her lead. Her hand was really soft and warm. "Maybe a sleep over party as well. Those were always fun." It would be fun to pretend it was normal again. No not fun he thought but something else. It would be reasureing that maybe things might yet return to normal. When he saw Reshion colapsed on the floor again he sighed. "I have some muscle relaxant pills that might help. I was going to offer them last time but Terry was the medical expert. I'm not really sure if they'll help i just grabbed them because I remembered something about them." He had actually grabbed them because theymight help when operating on someone without something to get rid of the pain. He had read that some where but he wasnt sure where. But now they might be able to help out with Reshion's muscle spasms. He smiled even his random purchase would help. Maybe fate would yet help them escape. Or god but he wasn't in the mood to pray right now with the zombies being turned and all. At Nina's querry he looked over to Crimson and Thomas. There Nina was again taking charge and being a good leader for the group. Every group needed a leader and in his mind Nina was. Taking charge, organising every one, all things a leader mustt do. He knew that he would always be attracted to her. She was so strong.

Nina turned back to Garath and smiled. "You have muscle relaxant? Well that's wonderful!" She said happily. "We could save the ginseng for food for a meal before the power goes out." she said looking down at the ginseng she had placed on the table. "Ok... We'll give him the medicine instead when he wakes up." She said walking to the medicine cabinet her father and her kept in the kitchen. Earlier that day, while Garath and her were organizing, they kept all the medical supplies there. She took out three bottles, read their labels, and selected the one she needed. She placed that on the table next to the ginseng. She looked back down at Reshion a little worried he hadn't woken up yet. She saw his eyes were moving under his eyelids. "He's dreaming..." Nina mumbled with a frown. I bet they're nightmares... Who can have peaceful dreams during an apocolypse? She thought with a shake of her head.
"Hey Garath... What was your life like...? Before all this happened?" Nina asked with a sigh, sitting next to him at the table. She crossed her arms, put them on the table, and faced him. I want everyone to think of better times... So we can all be happy as a group. Nina thought with a slight smile.

David knew that they couldn't climb up out the same way as all the rest of them... at least like the way they were. David woke up Alex. "Hey alex, i need you to do me a favor, then you can go back to sleep." Alex got up, still half asleep. Then there was a scream of victory, it sounded like one of the groups of zombies have won.. This woke up Alex a little more, not enough for him to relise whats happening though. Alex waited for Nicholas, Kalila, and Mizuki to climb up. After they all did, Alex climbed up, following him was David, making sure he didn't fall off in his half dream state. When Alex jumped across the gap, David gave him a push while he was in mid air, giving him just enough umph to make it across. After Alex jumped across, and up with everyone else, David jumped across having less trouble, due to his height. When he got up with everyone else, he picked up alex, and put him on his back again. As soon as alex got up there he was out. David got his dagger ready to draw at any given moment, and quietly said, "Where to now?" Making sure not to wake up alex, but also making sure everyone could hear him.

He looks startled at the question. It seemed odd now to think of the past considering all that had happened. It seemed so far away. "Before?" He considers. "Well before I was just a slightly nerdy high school student. Nothing really exiting ever happened. I would say it was plain and dull." He shrugged. "I read too much and was probably not one of the people youd want to know. But it was Ok. I have a group of friends and we hang out together going to conventions, watch anime and do stuff. We all are nerds in our own particular way." He remembers some of hte things that happened to them at different times and chuckles to himself. "We did a lot of weird things and enjoyed our selves imensily. I remember learning with them that squid and sushi are not to be enjoyed. What Jack and Tess saw in the stuff I will never know. Though most of the seemed to enjoy it a bit." Thinking of them and remembering that they at least were safe made him happier then he had been in a while. "So how about you? How was your life before all this happened?"

Mizuki hung there limply. He was reminded slightly of some of the exercises he and his father had done together on the monkey bars of the community park when they had first come to America. That was before, of course, his Father had discovered that the park was merely a hunting ground for ***** and a shelter for drug addicts to jack up in at night when it was clear of kids. Looking across at the others emerging on the balcony he felt dread grip his stomach for the first time. Looking across at Kalila and the hesitation behind her movements he began to think that she would not make this jump. It was not a great distance, not at all. It was just awkward and relied a lot on grip. If she fell, he knew it would be his fault. The others would never forgive him. Hell, he'd never forgive himself let alone the others. He could hear the blood pumping around his ears from where it had rushed to his head. He tried to swallow, to moisten his throat which was dry from nerves, but found it impossible and ended up coughing into his mask.
As Kalila made the jump, everything seemed to slow. His pupils shot back with fear and apprehension. He saw every stage of Kalila's expression metamorphosise from apprehension, to exhilleration as she reached the peak of her jump over sheer nothingness - and slowly revert to fear as the ledge came closer and the flight neared its end. He saw how locks of her hair, loosed from their ties, flailed and thrashed behind her head in the momentum, her skirts billowing out behind her dramatically. Then time seemed to snap back as she hit with the ledge. Instantly, he reached down. The moment her touch vibrated through the fabric of his gloves to touch his tingling palms - his fingers snapped shut in an iron grip - closing tightly about her wrists. He felt her finger tighten around his own wrists. There was a sudden jerk as Mizuki took all of Kalila's weight and he gasped slightly as pain rocketed through his body - the ladder rung digging painfully into the soft flesh at the back of his knees. Luckily, Kalila was not all that heavy. It was just the inital jerk of taking all her weight, and gravity taking its hold that had caused the inital strain. He forced words out. "I'm just gunna let you hang for a moment before I do this. Get used to your weight." He said softly. It was clear that there was strain in his voice. Looking up she would be able to see his eyes through the lens of his goggles. There were scrunched slightly which told of the large, cheesy grin that was now on his lips - hidden by his mask. He breathed slowly and deliberately as he grew accustomed to her weight. His shoulders strained slightly but soon grew accustomed. t was not long before he had convinced his body that she was merely an extension of himself. "I need you to grab the bar as soon as your hands touch it, because I am going to let go." Mizuki had locked eyes with her. His words were clear, no longer strained and held a sort of caring authority to them. "Ready?" He intoned. Mizuki was asking her as much as himself. A sort of defiant self determination told him her was. Screwing his eyes shut and gritting his teeth, he began to curl upwards as if doing a sit up. His stomach muscles clenched tightly and he held them fast as he began to fold upwards, hauling Kalila up by the wrists as he did so. He was fully aware that this would be very uncomfortable, even painful, for Kalila and aimed to go as quick as he could without hurting himself. He squeaked slightly drom the exertion, his shoulders send shrill spasms of pain up his arms from the effort. He tried to make as ittle noise as he could out of Pride. He kept lifting himself until his forehead pressed firmly against the cool, cold metal of one of the higher rungs. He took momentary relief from the chill it's surface sent across his forehead which was dewed with perspiration. He grit his tetth so hard they ached as, keeping his stomach locked despite the burning pain, he kept raising his arms over his head, dragging Kalila with them. He managed to lock his elbows, his entire arms shaking even as he did so. Kalila's body bumped against his back and the back of his head, pushing him in tighter against the ladder and helping to keep him in place. He felt the backs of his glove hands scrape a higher rung and immediately, almost desperately, pushed Kalila's fingers against it. As he felt her fingers leave his wrists he immediately let go with a shuddering sigh of relief. He grabbed onto a rung two below that which Kalila was not forced to hang on to and pulled his legs free with a deep, masculine groan of pleasure. Movement was made extremely restricted and awkward due to their two bodies being so close together, clutching on to things close within each other. Half falling, half climbing he lowered himself to the lowest rung, careful nmot to dislodge Kalila too much. Resting his feet on the ledge he allowed his legs to take his weight and rest his arm. He gave Kalila a chance to get her feet on the ladder and begin to climb. He looked over across to the others. He guessed that Nicholas would not need help. Neither was the young boy liable to accept any help he offered. It was a macho thing. Sighing he began to climb upwards, ignoring the dull ache in his arms. Looking above him he found himself gazing directly up Kalila's skirt. A strangled sort of yelp left him and he immediately snapped his head to the side his face becoming very warm. Whoops He kept his head to the side the whole climb. Eventually making it up to the roof he looked to Kalila and gave her a half hearted thumbs up and stood on the edge by the ladder, ready to leapt into action should any one else need help. All in all, it was a matter of waiting for the others to catch up.
[As of tomorrow I will be leaving for 2 weeks. I may be able to get on in that time but I cannot assure any regularity. Apologies in advance.]

All the while, Reshion was having his spams, she stared down at him coldly. For Crimson, you earned her sympathy only once, and if you lost it, you lost it.
Beep, Beep, Beep!
The oven timer went off, and the food was finally done. She turned to the oven, opening it and taking out the meatballs and garlic bread. She placed them on some plates she found, arranging them in a pleasing manner. Then she strained the pasta, stirring in the tomato sauce, adding some choice seasonings. Once done, she dumped the meatballs in the spaggetti, mixing them thoroughly(sp?).
Satisfied, she handed the garlic bread to Thomas and motioned him to follow to the table.

((Alright, that's alright. You don't have to pressure yourself to post amongst that time. Only if you can and want to ^_^. Thanks for the heads up ^.^))
Nina nodded to Garath's response, giving him a sad smile. Everyone's life was so normal... All of us are at the prime of our youth! Then all this happens... She thought with a shudder. She HATED zombies. She was a bit offended by his statement on his group being people she wouldn't hang out with. Nina had friends all across the boards and groups. "That sounds awesome..." She said with a genuine smile. "Oh... My life?" She said sheepishly. "Well... You met Kalila. There were just two more people in my school group: Jain and Alex. Those two don't know each other personally, but they've heard plenty about the other." She realized she was rambling, so she continued on topic. "Our group consisted of many different sorts. Kalila would fall under 'the goth anime obsessor,' Alex would be 'the rich snob,' Jain would be 'the normal one with not so normal moments,' and I would be... 'the most kick@$$'..." She said with a laugh. "No, I'm joking. I would be 'the crazy one'... or perhaps 'the funny one'..." She shrugged. "I really have no idea. But we hung out together all the time. Mostly in school, but sometimes out... It was so awesome. All of us were geeks, but we were happy and we didn't care what anybody thought." She said, her eyes were slightly glazed over as she thought of the moments. "Especially Kalila and me. Her brother somehow managed to weedle his way into the group, even though we only see him outside of school. Probably because he's so close to his siter. But of course... It can't really be that way anymore, eh?" She said the last part grudgingly.
Almost as to break the silence that fell over the group, the oven started beeping. Nina eyes wandered lazily to the oven and back to Garath and she smiled. It made her happy to think about what her life had been like just yesterday, but thinking about the future wiped her out. As soon as Crimson opened the oven, the smell that was already there intensified. "Reshion! Food's ready!" She yelled in the direction of the stairs, hoping the sound would reach the bar area where he had retreated to. It felt really weird to say such a simple thing. It really did feel like, just for a moment, things were normal. She turned her attention back to Crimson. "Awesome job... It looks like she did a great job. Plenty of food... We could feed an army." she said with a grin. "Just remember everyone: We have to leave food for Jain, Terry, Nicholas, Kalila, and Mizuki." she said playfully. She didn't know David and Alex were now apart of their fray.
At the DIY store, or the top part of it anyway, Kalila's mind was screaming, almost deafing her. I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'M SORRY!!!! her mind reapeated over and over though the whole process. Even when she thought other thoughts, that thought ran continously in the back of her head. She felt so bad for what she was putting Mizuki though. This is asking a lot of a body. You stupis b*tch... Why do you have to be so short! her mind cried at her. Mizuki spoke. "Okay..." Kalila whispered. She was almost about to nod her head in response, but she quickly had stopped and spoke instead. Nodding would have made us move to much.. She thought. Kalila had lucked out in one thing: She wasn't afraid of heights. She dangled for a few moments and noticed Mizuki was smiling. The only way she could tell is that the smile reached the eyes, the only part of his face she could see. She sent a sheepish smile back. Her shoulders were just starting to burn and her wrists hurt from the tight gripping. She knew her pain was like comparing a twisted ankle to a person who needed a full body cast, so she didn't complain one bit. Nicholas watched the whole thing with apprehension. He climbed his way up the stairs to get a better view, plus David and Alex already made it. "If he drops her... I swear to God, I'll beat the f*ck out 'em." He mumbled underneith his breath. He continued climbing, for every five steps looking up to see if his siter was safe. He made it to the outside window and stifled a laugh when he saw a swatch of the inner layer of her dress still on the edge of the window. He stayed there and continued watching finshing it best not to bother them as they tried to accomplish such a tough task.
After the short amount of hang time for Kalila, Mizuki spoke again. "Alright." Kalila said looking straight back at him, mentally readying herself for a quick reaction. She was suprised his tone had changed so much. He's a beast. Kalila thought, using the slang her brother used all the time to describe "Awesomeness." Normally, shw would've looked away from his eyes, but now was not the time. Plus, she had nowhere else to look, and she had to show Mizuki she was confident that he and she could do this. "I'm ready." Kalila replied and soon after she was lifted up. Oh my God... I'm going to fall. This is impossible! These words overlapped the costant "I'm sorry"s going through her head. Her body pressed him against the ladder and Kalila prayed she wasn't hurting more than she had been earlier. Contact was made immediate and deliberate with the rung and Kalila clung as tightly as she could. She quickly brought her legs up on another rung above the one Mizuki was on so she wasn't hanging anymore and Mizuki had the room he needed. She weaved her arm into the rungs to rest her shoulders. She looked down at him at the same time he groaned, blushed, and bit the exposed part of her arm just enough to not say anything. Yeah... You enjoyed that noise much too much for your own good. her mind scowled her. "Thank you... Thank so much." she said after letting go of the self-bite on her arm. He lowered himself down the ladder and Kalila began to climb up.
Nicholas watched the whole thing gasping when he thought for sure he was going to drop his beloved older sister. But she made it and he let out a breath he hadn't known he was holding. He pole-volted throught window, his arm the pole, and landed. He walked until he had sight of the ladder again. He watched the two climb and his jaw dropped when he saw Mizuki look up Kalila's skirt. He had always been suspicious of those type of motives Mizuki carried. After all, he was a guy. "Pervert!" he whispered loudly and bitterly, though he was still too far at the moment for the others to hear him. As much as he liked Mizuki, he didn't like people looking at his sister that way and that was one of his original reasons for coming with the two. He had yelped like it was an accident... But Nicholas didn't care. Accident or no accident, he still did it... Kalila heard the odd noise escape from Mizuki. She had lucked out, she was wearing black, girlie boyshorts styled panties, so he didn't get too much of an eye load. But, she took it to mean he was in pain and immediately looked down. His was face red and he was looking sideways. "Are you ok...?" She asked with worry etched in her voice. "Did I step on your hand?" She asked climbing up faster. She made it to the top and looked down at him until he made it up as well. She felt a huge wave of relief flow over her. He gave her thumbs up and Kalila responded with a grin, mouthed "I'm sorry," and then gave him a hug. She looked back at David. Okay... Alex is on his back again. She looked down to her brother. He was making his way to the ladder.
Nicholas was at the ledge of the gap and saw his older sister wave him up after a little bit. He nodded, looked in front of him, let out a breath, ran back, ran forward, and jumped. With a clank of metal he landed on the third rung from the bottom, but slipped to the second one with a few pops from his shoulder. "Ouch..." Nicholas said very calmly and brought his legs up. He climbed up quickly to join the group. "Thanks, Mizuki, for help Kali..." Nicholas said too emotionlessly, looking at the young man. He looked at Mizuki expectantly. He tried to make his thought appear in his eyes, I saw what you did... perv. but he wouldn't say anything. He wouldn't address it. That was strike one. Two more, though... and I'm tattling. Nicholas though immaturely.

David waited as all the rest of the team got up on top of the roof. He noticed that when they got up, Nicholas shot Mizuki a look. David had no idea what he did that for, but he would ask later, no time for that right now. He looked around in the eerie silence... David hated silence. David made sure that his dagger was ready to use at any given notice. Then he looked up and said, where to now... David waited untill he got his answer, then when everyone was talking, he snuck over to Nicholas, "What was with that look you shot mizuki when you got up here?" David asked. He smiled as he asked, hoping to get something interesting, "Please tell me, i swear i won't tell anybody." He said to Nicholas, making sure Alex didn't wake up. He's so much more peacefull when he's asleep... and he doesn't wreck my jokes. David thought with a little bit of a chuckle. Then David followed the rest of the group, to, where he hoped, would be a more interesting place. Nothing could get more boring than where they were right now.

"We're headed to the Gun store." Nicholas and Kalila said together. Kalila looked around from the roof of the building and pointed off to the opposite direction they threw the onion bomb in. "We should be heading that way." She said. "But..." Now she blushed in embarrassment. "I don't know how to get over the buildings to it. Mizuki is a the parcore expert here... Not me." She stated with a slight laugh. Nicholas nodded in agreement. "What the...?" Nicholas blurted out when David snuck up next to him. He asked a question and he took the bait without even thinking about it. He didn't really need the convincing he wanted to share the information with someone. But the people he normally would do that with was the victim and the other one way back at her house. "That perv!" Nicholas mumbled to David low enough for Mizuki or Kalila not to hear, but loud enough to express his anger. "He looked up Kali's dress! You hear that screech? Yeah, well, that was Mizuki." He said not waiting for an answer. He cooled down a little and looked at David. "It was probably an accident though... So it's no big deal." He said grudgingly. "But if she's wearing something not so innocent under there he just got a free show!" He mumbled under his breath so even David couldn't hear.

David started to laugh, but he covered his mouth so as mizuki and kalila couldn't hear. "Now that you mention it, i did here a sort of yelp." I'm sure Mizuki didn't mean to do it... Then Nicholas mumbled something to where David couldn't hear it... David knew that it had something to do with Mizuki, and Kalila, but he couldn't understand a word of it. "Hmm, should I tell Kalila?" David thought outloud. He covered his mouth again hoping Kalila didn't hear. David looked at everybody... It looked like they were trying to figure out what to do next. David just sat back and watched, he was a big picture guy, not a small detail guy. He wasn't very good at figuring things out.

Terry continued to follow the printed out direction he had onhis lap. His eyes blinked very slowly, showing how sleepy he was. He was tired from the drive to New York, he was tired from the tragedy in his life, and he was tired from only getting about half an hours worth of rest. That half an hour seemed to make him more tired now then he had been earlier. He took a turn that the sheet commanded him to take. As he drove down the street he noticed a group of infected running towards his direction. He did a quick head count and got 13. Whoa... wait a minute, that one in the front's not infected! There's only 12 he realized when he noticed she was panting and there was fear on her face. He thought she was infected at first because she looked dirty, but now that he got a better look he saw her skin was alive with color has wall. He slammed on the breaks of his Chevy and quickly kicked his way out, grabbing one of the guns in the passenger seat, which happen to be a battle rifle, as he went.
He ran towards the group, he looked like every move was the prime of the military. He made it to the group, grabbed the girl by the wrist and shot at the same time. The aim wasn't so great since he only used one arm, but it scared the infected enough to back off for a few seconds. That's all he needed. He quickly looked towards the girl. She had an axe and shotgun on her. Must be the one. What are the chances of anything else? the thought shot through his mind very quickly. "Jain, right?" He said. Without waiting for an answer he as he contunued. "Get in the truck. There isn't much room so push things around until you have enough." He said very quickly, yet calmly. He pushed her off towards the direction of the vehicle as he grabbed on to his weapon with both hands. The started charging the same time he pushed Jain. He fired with precise aim at the heads of the infected, using only one burst, which had three bullets each, to kill two to three zombies. In only five pulls of the trigger he had mowed them all down. He quickly checked the surrounded area and saw there was a horde coming from union square. He quickly pulled his gun to his chest and sprinted in the opposite direction, towards his truck. He quickly swung himself into the drivers seat and slammed the door. He looked towards Jain. Even if she was ready or not he didn't care, as long as she was in the car. He shifted the car into reversed, grabbed the head rest of the passenger seat to keep himself turned around to see behind him, and slammed his foot on the accelerator. "Hang on!" He blurted out as he manuvered his way back. He slammed on the breaks and tunred so he was driving forward again, shifting the car into drive. He drove off the reverse way of what it said on the printout.

[[Sorry I haven't posted. Been sick.]]
Nikita stared at her, slightly bothered. 13 and about to graduate? To him, High School was only necessary if the career you were going to pursue required a diploma. Nikita dropped out of high school when his father was arrested, deciding to follow in his father's footsteps. "Didn't you have a social life?" He asked raising his eyebrows. "Any friends?" The idea of a child having enough time and control to survive high school surprised him. She must be one of those child prodigies. He thought as he heard her speak again. "No. You're not leaving." He told her. "Just wait a second." He turned, grabbed his backpack, and emptied it on the ground. He kept only a pair of jeans, a few shirts, some underwear and a small ziplock back which he quickly stuffed in the bag after it fell onto the floor. He then began packing his backpack with plenty ammunition and a few more pistols. We're gonna need it. He thought before his brain could question his actions. The bag had gotten heavy with the weight of the ammunition, but he was confident that he was strong enough that it wouldn't slow him down. He swung the backpack on his back and placed his AK47 over his right shoulder. He picked up a padlock that had fallen off of the counter when they tried to barricade the door. "Hold this for me." He ordered Eri as he handed it to her. He then walked to the dead zombie which lay near the entrance. He put both of his feet on either side of the zombie's waist, and swung the zombie over his left shoulder. "You'll leave when I leave." He told her and then pointed at the latch door with his chin. "This way to the roof." He walked up the stairs and struggled to open the latch door. When he finally opened it, he walked up and tossed the zombie's body to the side and offered Eri a hand up the stairs. With his hand still outstretched, he turned his head to Ada and saw her sitting on the floor with her legs crossed in front of her. "I thought you were gonna put the music back on. I was going to show you my world famous strip tease." He joked, trying to wake her up from the daze she appeared to be in.
Ada reached the roof while she dragged the dead zombie. When she reached the edge, she quickly tossed it over the side of the building. She heard the zombie land on the hard concrete with a loud cracking noise. She spun back and faced the front of the store. I don't understand... She thought confused. Nothing could've broken through my barricades. How could they have broken in? She sighed as she realized that she wasn't able to defend the store on her own. She walked to the front side of the roof and sat. There's still plenty of ammo up here, but we'll have to be leaving soon. It isn't safe anymore. She thought sadly. No place is safe anymore. She heard the latch door open behind her but did not react. She knew it was Nikita. "I thought we had already witnessed your famous strip tease." She said in reply to his comment. "Remember last Christmas when you got stoned?" She teased. Nikita had a habit of getting high at the worst possible moment, making last Christmas a very uncomfortable moment for everyone. "Oh...yeah." She whispered. "The music." She got up to put the CD again, but noticed that Eri had a cut on her arm. "What happened to your arm?" She asked as she bent over and picked up the CD case. She took out a random CD and placed it in the boombox. The music echoed through the streets. "Just get ready. We'll stay here for another hour." She screamed over the music. "Then we're heading out of the city."

Jain had not stopped running since she turned on the street headed towards Union Square. She had been running in the shadows so she could go about unnoticed. When she was about halfway through Union Square, a horde of 5 zombies spotted her and began chasing her. "Dammit!" She screamed at the top of her lungs. "Give me a f*cking break!" When she reached what looked like a park, she found a wide tree and climbed it. When she was high enough where they couldn't reach her, she grabbed her shot gun and began shooting. Now might be a good time to waste these shells. She thought as she fired her shotgun and watched the zombies fall to the floor. When she had killed them, she jumped off the tree and resumed her running. She decided that she wasn't going to stop running, especially not now when she had more than 10 zombies chasing after her. She made a quick turn and saw someone driving a truck. The truck suddenly stopped and she saw a man emerge from the truck. "********!" She screamed at the man when he grabbed her wrist. She quickly followed his orders and got in the car, pushing his belongings aside and slamming the door behind her. She watched as he dispatched of the zombies with incredible ease. "Yep." She said as she laughed to herself. "I think I found the Sarge."
When he finished killing the zombies, he got in the car and started the engine almost as soon as his fingers touched the key. Jain was shaking and had a sudden urge to throw up when he began swerving the car. He must've won his license. She thought sarcastically, but then realized that he was trying to get away from a huge wave of zombies that were coming from Union Square. She pulled her knees up and wrapped her arms around her legs. She looked up at the sargeant and said, "What the hell is going on?!"

Mizuki had ignored Kalila's question. If he lied and said she had stepped on his hand, that would explain his outburst - but it would also make Kalila feel guilty. Which, in retrospect, would make him feel even worse. And admitting the true nature of his suprise was out of the question. Things around were tense enough with flesh eating Crazies and constant death without the added drama of being treated like a sexual predator! So the best idea was to simply pretend he hadn't heard her and continue, keeping his eyes glued solidly on the mildew markings on the brick that followed in line with the ladder. Reaching the top he stood up and stretched and felt himself ease tremendously - only to have that new feeling of relaxation completely wiped out by Nicholas. Mizuki had turned to the younger boy to ask him if he had coped alright, so he k new for future about which routes might be too difficult to attempt. Instead the youth had spoken first - his voice cold and harsh. Mizuki had been deeply hurt by Nicholas' tone and it had shown on his face - though his face was hidden by goggles and a mask. He frowned deeply and made to ask for the boys meaning and reasoning behind his scorn. But instead, David intervened. Mizuki felt the beginings of bitter paranoia nibbling tentatively at the back of his mind. Nibbling and scratching away all rational thought until he felt uneasy and vunerable - an open target. Here was someone he trusted and liked turned sour towards him - whispering in arms with someone Mizuki considered to be an enemy. He folded his arms tightly across his chest and averted his gaze. It was better not to look, but he couldn't help but feel deeply betrayed. His mood was not improoved by the dull aching in his shoulders and stomach. A few minutes and it would past. He tended to recover a lot faster these days. . .
"If we could rest a while I would appreciate it. I am sure you guys would too. I'll scout out the next route." Without another word he walked over to the other side of the building. Staring down into the ally he could hear rustling. Jumping back from the edge he lay down on his front so that he could peer over at what was below but remain hidden. It was a lone Crazie. It looked to be a woman . . . girl rather. No more than thirteen years of age and yet he could smell the rotting blood of her from here. She had been badly injured recently. She ferretted around in the dark, snuffling, chewing on what she could unearth. As she dissappeared down an opposing ally way Mizuki spotted that one of her arms was little more than a ragged stump, taking her swagger to all near levels of unbalance. Frowning, he shook his head and continued to scan the route. The next roof started around a five foot drop below this. It would be easy to jump and roll onto the next building. From there a general north east route would take them where they needed to go. He planted his hands flat on the floor and pushing up, brought uphimself to his knees in a fluid motion, jumping to his feet thereafter. His shoulders were near better already. Hands on hips he pretended to speculate and analyise the drop. Looking over his shoulder at Nicholas he waited for him and David to cease talking. "Nicho." He called out causally. "Can you come check this for me?" Waiting for the other boy to trudge over, however reluctantly, he crossed his arms loosle over his chest and toed the curb at the edge of the roof. "I've been noticing you have been a little off with me lately. Have I done something wrong?" He sounded genuinely confused and mildly upset, hiding the majority of his distress for macho manly reasons. "If I have offended you then please tell me how and I;d be more than happy to make amends." Clearing his throat he said, "So do reckon you two can make this jump?" He said louder, to hide his previous statements from the rest of the group. He indicated the roof opposite and below with a lazy wave of his hand. He knew the answer would be yes. A five year old girl with one leg could make this jump. . .
