"Is that so?" he mused, stepping further out onto the balcony and looking upward. "With the number of stars in the sky, more often than not there is at least one group aligned at any given time..." In fact, there was a set aligned that he knew of this night. Though thankfully they seemed to be behaving themselves. He looked back at her, "Which alignment interests you, if you don't mind my asking?"

"Arcturus about 0.006° further away from Virgo would do it. But that's no matter I can fix that in, oh..." She tugged on one of her earrings as if to judge it's weight, "Three hours? But I'm conflating stars and fate to make terrible jokes. Are you very interested in astronomy, then?"

She was trying hard to place the white-haired gentleman who's outfit for the night had taken inspiration from the sky. He was familiar enough that it itched at her brain, but she still hadn't placed his face.

"No," the frown that had been forming smoothed out as her face became impassive, "All is as it has always been." As the Phantom left for the balcony, the chill in the air receded.

"Oh...well I'm glad nothing has upset you, I was growing a little-" she started to say, though her earring started crackling, and a small tendril of flame flickered around it, though it was a safe distance away to not burn her.

"Cid she's gone..." the voice whispered, and the knight blew a strand of hair that had fallen into her mouth.

"Really Ke'hac?...thanks for not letting me talk to air again. That last time was embarrassing," she sighed, hanging her head and having her hair cover the earring again. Oh well. She guessed it was time to go and try to mingle again.

"I wouldn't be so sure, depending on who you ask I'm a bad guy. And I have yet to hear good things about that one." He nods towards where the devil is lurking on the sidelines. "We do seem to be behaving ourselves for now though."

He looked at the stars in question and nodded thoughtfully. "Three hours, seven minutes, and twenty-two seconds, if I am not mistaken would align him perfectly with Spica," he confirmed. That star had always been a rather fast paced one. At the mention of stars and fate, he smiled, amusement flickering in his eyes. "Stars and fate have been intermingled for much worse than a joke or two over the years, I can assure you. I doubt any mind."

The prince could tell that she didn't quite know who he was, and then her question immediately following confirmed it. It had been some time since he had been about Gaia, and normally he only met with a person for a few moments before vanishing. Not to mention everyone seemed enthralled with his capes...Well, he would play along for now. "Yes, I am quite fond of astronomy. In fact, you could say that knowing star alignments is part of my profession." He turned his attention back to the sky, gesturing to the opposite end of the sky where Orion lay. "For example, Betelgeuse. You would require something rather strong in order to view it from Gaia, but there are five others of its type, same size, same coloring, same magnitude, all aligned perfectly at this very moment. Granted, these stars move considerably slower than Arcturus, so they shall stay aligned for roughly four days now that they are in place."

"Well, good and bad are all matters of perspective," she replied. "A person who might be considered a villain by some could be seen as a hero by others. It is very rare that you find one who is irrefutably bad." She tapped her chin thoughtfully, "And, since I consider you a good dragon, you must not be part of that crowd." She glanced back at the devil lurking on the sidelines. "That one I don't know personally, so I can't say."

Oh Lucky... You walked face first into this. "You think I'm good?" He smirks, mischief in his eyes as he pulls her closer, "Perhaps you'll let me show you just how good I am."

She smirked back, not missing a beat. "Are you sure you want to try that? I do believe you said someone like me would kick your a** if you attempted to snatch them." Honestly, how did she always manage to get herself wrapped up with dragons, of all creatures? She never even met one until she started wearing a tiara...

...Which she happened to be wearing now because she had no hair accessories that matched the gold on her dress. Yup, definitely the tiara.

"Oh, you are very good." Her face converted the frown to a sparkling smile, "I confess that I only keep track of the stars that can tell me when I am. Arcturus's speed is particularly handy for smaller increments."

She edged closer to get a better view of the sky from his angle as he gestured towards the horizon, but still a respectful distance from his actual person. Who was he? The only person Minty remembered talking about stars at length with was Arron, but he was in the ballroom with a missing arm. Her first clue she hadn't arrived when she meant to.

"I've always had a soft spot for Orion, though. When I was little, I used to tell him all my secrets." She lowered her voice to a conspiratorial whisper, "Sometimes I still do, when I'm feeling nostalgic."

"Which is why I'm asking permission instead of snatching. Unless..." He seems thoughtful for a moment, "You're into that sort of thing?"

There was a small snicker to the sidelines of the two dancers as Cid approached them as quietly as she could to not interrupt their dance, or the rather hilarious conversation going on between them. The knight still seemed to fidget with the now untied corsage, the strands of the pocket square hanging a little wrinkled from her wrist, as she waited for them to finish, wishing to apologize to them both.

"When?" he repeated, catching the word choice. So she was a time traveler, or something along those lines. Despite his curiosity, he would let it slide if she didn't want to speak more on the matter. He knew of time travelers who were bound to secrecy, and for very good reason. If that was the case here, he would respect it, especially since she did not realize who she was speaking with.

"Ah, that one is a very good listener," he replied, looking up at the familiar constellation. "Although, my personal favorite is not the hunter, but his companion." He gestured to the bright star tailing behind the constellation. "When I was a boy, my father would say that if there was ever one I wished to confide in, yet no one was about, speak to Sirius. He is a loyal companion who has shined brightest in the night sky for many years. Many have seen him as a sense of warmth, a guide, and a friend. For that, affection he has been shown, he will listen to your secrets, and keep them for eternity." He chuckled slightly. "I am unsure if that is necessarily what Sirius thinks, but I for one have never heard him speak of a secret relayed to him. Have you?"

Lucky gasped playfully, bringing a hand up to her chest. "You wound me, sir! A dragon snatching me away in the middle of a ball? Do I look like a- wait" She took off her tiara and placed it on his head. "Now as I was saying, so I look like a princess worth snatching to you?"

The words had just finished leaving her lips when she heard the snicker on the sidelines. Cidri had returned and approached during their playful banter. "Oh Cidri! Welcome back!" Then she noticed the pocket square all wrinkled and floppy, probably a casualty of the conversation that happened earlier. "Your corsage looks like it needs to be retied. Would you like me to do it for you?" Wrist ones were so awkward.

"No, I've never heard Sirius share a secret," She laughed heartily, "But I would feel like I was betraying Orion if I switched confidants now. And I don't believe that the fact I detested the doll my grandmother got me for my eighth birthday is really an 'all eternity' sort of secret."

Nef rolls his eyes, a playful smile tugging at his lips. "I do believe I've mentioned that princesses are not what attract, ah." He cuts off as he notices Cidri, reluctantly stopping the dance so they could speak with her. "Hello again."

(Lucky realizes she won't get the shiny back unless you asks, right?)
