Eric sighed and stood up. "Ok. The invasion had a multitude of heartless. We originally tried to hide within the house so as to not expose ourselves and the baby to unnecessary injury. It appears even then Cordinia suffered a bit of a knock to the head," he said walking over to her. He held her lightly. "It was mostly small fry at first. Shadows, soldiers, blue rhapsodies, not much of a threat. Then I hear this thunk coming toward us. Morning stars. Those giant spiked balls of evil," he shuddered. "I have a personal grudge against that particular type. It would have been to much if those morning stars got to us. The house was under attack, as you can see from the state of the couch. I decided to leave Yuki in the vey capable hands of one of the best fighters and strategists in the hollow bastion cleanup committee. She really likes the little guy," Eric said. Cordinia nodded. Eric walked back back toward lerana. "I went to take out the big guns while coriander there called in yuffie for help. The committee already sent out some guys to watch the situation. The communications aren't exactly perfect anymore with them so only one person got sent in,"
"grand ninja yuffie saved my life. I owe her big time,"
"As I've said, it was preventative action to leave the kid here. He was always the priority. I'm sure I could've done something different, but in the long run we could've been overrun. Trust me, I'm an ex-soldier. I would've gladly given my life for these people should the need arise," he said coolly and calmly. pretty good for something I pulled out of my a**. Lets hope it works. Leopold chuckled a little. thats my boy. He's inherited my silver tongue, he thought. "heh. Well, this night turned out a bit more 'entertaining' than usual. Glad you're alright kid," he said.

Eric sighed with relief. it worked. I'm out of trouble for now. He'll give me a tongue lashing later, but I deserve it. Everything turned out ok for me. I'm not dead, Lawrence will keep his mouth shut for once, and my old girlfriend's parents won't kill me for abandoning their baby in a crisis. I probably owe the kid though. Who knows how this little invasion will mess him up. At least I have Cordinia. I can't believe how much I missed her. Or how much she missed me, he thought hugging Cordinia. She nuzzled into him softly.
what's wrong with me? We break up on neutral consent and now it's like we're back together. Just like old times. Did I ever really move on from him? After he left... Eric shuddered at the mention of namine. He had to come up with an excuse quickly. "Can two friends not hug and enjoy each other's company after a crisis?" he said trying not to sound nervous. Leopold walked to the backyard and began fiddling with the various training dummies.

Patricia walked by the house, looking sad. She did not enter. I need to cheer up before I face them again. Things aren't to bad considering it was a direct attack. A few broken windows, a couple wall scratches, nothing major. Do we have upholsterers here? There has to be people with damaged furniture here right? she thought. She looked around the town. Looks like we're the first people back. The rest must be scared to return. Horrible creatures those heartless, she thought.

"It's okay really. People have different ways of reacting to crises. I'm just used to it since it's how i was raised," Eric said reassuringly to lerana.

Patrica jumped slightly and put her fists up when kiru went to her. She turned around to see him. "Whoa! Great mog kiru! Don't sneak up on me like that. Sorry, I get kind of jumpy after heartless attacks. So much personal heartache associated with them. As for your offer, you wouldn't happen to know how to repair furnituure do you? I saw that our couch was wrecked when I came back," she said.

Yogtz had been on his porch watching the scene unfold. It's a good thing none of them were hurt. But, I know you're lying kupo. You really shouldn't lie to the mother of the girl you used to date. Once she finds out what happened, you're doomed. I'm not covering you for this one, he thought.

Patricia smiled. "Thank you. That couch is very important to leopold and I. It was the only thing left of our house," she said. She checked her purse to see if her wallet was still in there. It was and still had plenty of cash in it. I do feel a little bad for dining and dashing, albeit to save my life, she thought.

Eric smiled. "I will as soon as possible. My sincerest condoloences for your peaceful evening being ruined by darkness. Cordinia and I will make some calls to see if we can beef up security here," he said. He let go of Cordinia and walked out toward the backyard. He began a conversation with leopold.

Cordinia sighed. Did he really just say my name? I'm used to him calling me coriander. Oh no! My garden! Those heartless bastards better not have ruined my parseley crop. Heads will roll if they do! she thought running off.

Leopold and Patricia put away their cash. "all right then. It was nice get out for once," leopold said. He returned to the backyard and began fiddling with his training dummies.
"thank you kiru. I'm honored to have a friend like you," she said. A small exposing could be heard in the backyard. Patricia sighed."that's probably my husband. Feel free to call if you need anything," she said. She bowed slightly before running back to her husband.
