"Wait a second I recognize at least two of them. The two girls dancing over to the left. That's Iris and Laura! My little sisters I lost so many years ago."
::Kallman reached out to them but they were just memories not even ghosts. Kallman looked to Hanna.
"I don't want to see anymore. Please take it away. Take away the pain I caused."

"They are not all wolves Kallman. Most of them are human... look!" One of the two girls had stopped, cocking her head questioningly, staring at them. "I thought they weren't real!" he gasped. Hanna sucked in a breath. "I said they were memories, not that they weren't real," she whispered. The girl continued to stare at them, the one Kallman had called Iris. Then she smiled widely and beckoned them forward. Hanna focused, training her energy on the girl and realized that something was not the same. "Kallman, that one is not a memory. She's a sending." "A what?" "A sending..."

"Hanna please stop this. I can't take this. I can't take the pain. I was unable to save them years ago and I don't know what a sending is. Please I'd rather die then see this. Please Hanna stop." begged Kallman going to his knees and starting to cry his eyes out. He couldn't take this he couldn't take see his two little sisters and did that mean that Kai's twin was among them too? And his parents. He had saved Kai from the explosion but he hadn't been able to save his little sisters. Kallman blamed himself for it and would never forget that he was the one who caused it. It wasn't Kai's fault for talking to the doctor. He couldn've killed those demon hunters but he had run he had been only eleven at the time.
"Iris,Laura please please forgive me." cried Kallman. Hanna looked to him.

"Kallman," Hanna gasped urgently, trying to pull him to his feet. "Kallman a sending is someone's consciousness. Someone alive! Get up, get up! What if she leaves without us?! Get up!" She jerked him to his feet and dragged him after Iris, struggling to keep her in sight. She led them to a solid wall, smiled, and stepped into it. "It's a door," Hanna muttered. "It has to be." She let go of Kallman and knocked as hard as she could. The echo magnified in the cavern and the memories began to fade into themselves. An eerie grinding followed and a door opened to a figure in a blue silk robe, her face shadowed by a hood. "Iris," Hanna whispered. "Kallman get up!" The woman pulled back her hood and smiled. One side of her face was covered in a dark scar, but the other was beautiful and unmarked, a face that reminded Hanna of Kai's. "Brother?" she whispered, her voice musical. "And you--you must be Hanna. I've been waiting here a long time for the two of you."

::Kallman stood not sure to believe what he was seeing. Iris was alive? How was that possible?::
"Iris are you?" asked Kallman stumbling to her as he traced his hand alongside her cheek.
"Yes, I'm alive." she smiled embracing him.
"How?" asked Kallman. "I was sure you and Laura were killed when the mountain exploded." explained Kallman.
"Hanna weclome as well." smiled Iris.
"And how in the world do you know me?" asked Hanna.
(Heh. Sorry I'm late.)

"Laura was killed with the mountain, brother. She felt no pain, and it was very quick for her. As for me, the mountain...when the rocks exploded, it was like the mountain itself shielded me, though for sure I cannot say. The flames from the blast burned my side and I was flung far, but I still tried to find someone...I finally collapsed when the ground caved in under me. When I finally awoke, I thought I must be dead, for everything was very dark, and I could see almost nothing." Iris's ears were different colors, one white and fragile looking where it had been burned, the other the precise color of Kallman's. One eye also was paler than the other, but Hanna felt very sure that she was not blind. "But how did you survive?" Kallman asked. "You...you were so young, and hurt..." he faltered, unable to continue. He was in shock. "I fell into an ancient tunnel, one of many. I followed it when I could, slept when it was too painful to move, but I came to this place...I am not sure still how I overcame the burns. Perhaps the mountain helped me. I do not know. I was able to drink and rest, and found food. You would be surprised by how many fish there are here, and how easily they can be caught." "And you stayed," Hanna finished, understanding.

"I knew you you think I was dead, therefore I didn't want to make it any worse than it was. Although I'm sure Kai wasn't happy about becoming the baby of the family again." laughed Iris going to Kallman and embracing him.
"I missed you so much." sighed Kallman nudging against her. Kallman held her tight against him and held her close.
"Kallman."
"Iris...please come back." begged Kallman.
"I'm afraid I cannot. My place is here. Even alive I can never return to the clan. Trust me I wish I could." she answered looking down into the water.
"Is Aurora still alive?" she asked.
"Yes yes, she wasn't there the day the mountain exploded." explained Kallman.

"How do you know me?" Hanna asked cautiously. Iris pulled away from Kallman and looked at her. "I am not sure. I have always known you would come, but how I know is as much a mystery to me as it is to you." "That is not much of an answer." "I know this. I understand your caution, Hanna, but the best I can explain it is that to some it is given to know, and to some it is not. I know many things that I have no reason for knowing. I also know something of you and what is to come in these next days." Hanna trusted Iris. She could not believe it, but she did.

::Kallman stood there amazed his little sister had survived the explosion and not just that she knew Hanna as well.::
"Iris." began Kallman
"Kallman brother please don't make this any harder than it has to be. Sooner or later you'll have to stay goodbye then just to me."
"Don't tell me." began Kallman.
"Actually it's not her." Iris smiled looking straight at Hanna.

"Then who?" Hanna asked, but then she realized what Iris meant. "Oh. I see." "What?" Kallman replied, looking at her. "Your grief, Kallman. You have to move on, and for that, you must say goodbye."

"How can you just expect me to leave?" declared Kallman furious as he looked away the tears rolling down his eyes. Suddenly he remembered the day before.
"What were you thinking?" asked Kallman.
"I don't know I was just asking him about herbs and medicine." explained Kai.
"Kai he's a human. A human will inform hunters and hunters will kill us." replied Kallman.
"Run run as fast as your legs will carry you. I will hold them off." smiled Kallman.
"All right brother."
"Goodbye Iris." replied Kallman wiping away his tears and walking out of the cave. He figured if Hanna followed him it was her choice. Their was nothing holding Kallman back now from returning to where he was meant to be, his swamp. Charlie was probably pretty hungry by now.::

"He doesn't understand," Hanna sighed. "Sooner or later he must overcome his grief, or it will eat him alive." "He will recover. It will take more time, I think," Iris replied quietly. "As for you..." "I'm ready." Iris nodded thoughtfully. "It is best that you are prepared. In the coming days there will be many challenges for you." "I want to know." Again, Iris nodded, her eyes thoughtful, her scarred face as pale as moonlight. "The change will be difficult. Not just for you, but for everyone involved. As your blue nature spreads over your skin there may be times when you do not recognize anyone, and you will forget how to speak to them when you do. Magic will flow from you freely, leaving it's mark on the world around you, and making the change run faster. You must not be afraid." Hanna looked down, clenching her jaw. So. That was how it was to be. She had hoped...but it did not matter. "Thank you Iris," Hanna said.

::Kallman had fully intended to return to the swamp. But blocking his way was no other than Jeanette. He wasn't in the mood for hunters let alone Jeanette.
"What do you want?" asked Kallman furious.
"You." she smiled sweetly.
"I'm not in the mood." declared Kallman firmly.
"Even if I told you I could make you forget about the girl?" asked Jeanette.
::Kallman thought forgetting about Hanna. Maybe that was the best after everything that had happened between them but the only way Jeanette would ever do anything for him if it had something to do with her. She smiled at him waiting for his answer. Hanna if he couldn't have her he wouldn't have anyone else. He looked up to Jeanette.
"I'm all yours." smiled Kallman.
"Perfect." Jeanette smiled leading him out of the swamp and away from Hanna. Away from everything they had ever done together. It was time for Kallman to face the truth. He was in love.

Hanna had said goodbye to her friends in the mountains and wandered the forest alone. She thought of many things, and searched for no one. No one did not search for her. Ferin sat across her path, his eyes closed as though in silent meditation. His nose twitched as he heard her footsteps. "I knew you would come this way," he said. His hat sat on the ground beside him and his hair was shaggy and uncut. "You know too much," Hanna muttered, stepping around him. "I always have," he replied solemnly, opening his eyes. "Where is your friend?" "I don't know." He followed quietly, matching her step for step. "Something is troubling you." "Something always is."

"We are here." Jeanette announced as they entered the fortress. Jeanette lead him to a room and tossed him some clothes.
"Change into those and then I'll make you forget her." smiled Jeanette this was just too perfect. Kallman's love for Hanna would be his fatal weakness and Jeanette planned to use it against him. After all Kallman was much stronger than the archer. If only Jeanette had not liked the boy she would have continued going after Hanna but she had to admit Charlie last act as a human was quite GOOD.
::Kallman changed into the black hunter's uniform and noticed the black bandanna was the only thing left. He took off his red one and threw it to the trash can beside him. He had to erase it all, erase all his memories of Hanna and that included the red bandanna he had one given to her. Kallman was dressed fully in black and Jeanette changed him quickly.
"Do you remember anything?" asked Jeanette.
"No master." replied Kallman.
"You can call me Jeanette." smiled Jeanette leading him out of the room. Daceria and Forest wouldn't stand a chance now.
