 Jacob "Jac" Fayden McClain
Jac sighed contently, despite the random dog. The sun was warm on the chilly morning, and the sound of the ocean was relaxing. He reached over to dig out a juice pouch and pulled the little straw away from the back of it, stabbing it into the designated hole. He took a loud slur of it and felt a strange, fluttery feeling in his chest as childhood raced back into him. He found a sort of happiness, slurping away at his flavored drink, and in his enlightenment, he let himself fall back into the sand, one arm outspread and the other holding the pouch to his lips. Eyes closed and the hint of a smile tugging at his lips, Jac was finally relaxing, and it felt amazing.
The dog sat between the two and looked from one to the other, a stupid but loyal smile on her face. When the woman took a strange object and put it to her lips, the young canine inclined her head to sniff at it, licking her lips. Her little stump wagged and a small whine drifted from her muzzle.

For a moment, Delia sat eating strawberries like a little kid, and watched Jac with some amusement, some adoration. He too looked like he was enjoying the trip back to his childhood, and for a split second she saw such a happy gleam in his eyes, she was overwhelmed with joy. As his eyes closed in relaxation, she sighed, as if signifying she agreed with how wonderful it all felt. Her sigh turned into a giggle when the dog sniffed one of the strawberries she'd been eating. She raised an intrigued eyebrow at her, holding up a tinier strawberry. "You want one?" she asked, but stopped herself. "Can dogs eat strawberries?" she wondered aloud, not recalling any limits on anything but chocolate. She placed the strawberry in her palm with a shrug and held it out to her.

The dog wagged her stump even more when the strawberry was inclined towards her. Very gently, the pup nibbled it out of her hand. Once the strawberry was in her mouth, she got up and bolted away before the humans could change their mind and take it back. She stopped a few yards away and ate it.
Jac spat as sand went flying into his face when the dog bolted and sat up, looking behind him. "Strange mutt." he grumbled, brushing the sand off his face. The dog finished her berry and trotted over again to sit between the two. "What is with you? Huh?" he asked the dog, reaching to pet her. She yelped and jumped away, head low and eyes wide. Her hide quarters were low, as if her tail were between her legs, though it was two short to go there. She trotted around them, whining, then eventually wandered off towards where the sand met asphalt of the parking lot, looking back now and then, but not coming back.
"What did I do? I was just going to pet it." Jac said defensively. He watched the dog as she wandered away from them, then shrugged. "Well, whatever." He lay back in the sand and went back to relaxing.
Marina Elemento I usually steer away from things like this, but I am obsessed. I find it too cute... Here, Too cute

Delia covered her mouth with her hand as she watched Jac get sprayed with sand. The dog didn't seem to like him so much, but she was bemused by this. It wasn't like he was going to hit her or anything. Then again, Dawn didn't know much about animals to begin with. She watched a bit sadly as the dog wandered away from them, looking a bit forlorn. She looked at Jac and couldn't help but kiss his cheek. "She probably thought you smelled funny," she teased, a light giggle in her voice. It was fun watching him get all worked up over the puppy, but she was glad to have him to herself for the day once again. Maybe she'll come back later, she thought, before breaking off a small piece of pound cake for herself.

Jac looked up at Delia with one eye, "I smell fine. I took a shower this morning... or was it last night. Either way, I'm clean." He retorted, though he was not very serious. He spotted the cake in hr hand and reached for it, silently asking for a slice. He was comfortable on the sand, and he didn't want to sit up yet. The warm sand was nice on his stiff and sore back, still recovering from the beating the pavement gave him when he crashed his bike.
He sighed, "Oh, I really wish I had a boogie board. If it turns out to be warm today, the water might be nice." He Took one last sip of his Capri Sun and emptied it. "And another thing, we have a watermelon, but how do we get into the watermelon? We didn't bring a knife... Well, I have a pocket knife. But not sure if that'll work."

Delia simply giggled at his defensiveness, leaning back in the sand for a moment in thought. As he reached for the pound cake, she giggled again; he was just too adorable. She broke off a good sized chunk and handed it to him. "Yeah, I'd like to swim," she replied, gazing out to the aquamarine water that shimmered in the sun. She paused a moment, looking over their groceries before laughing. "Go us," she cheered sarcastically, "I'm surprised I can walk out the door with my head on my shoulders." She thought for a minute with a slight grin. "We could throw it against something." The suggestion was so childish and unlike her, it was almost unrealistic the way she smiled mischievously.
io3121 jhfkdl apparently I can't handle having more than one character that start with the same letter T-T ooooo dat song is perfect. I feel like I should find a song for De now XD

Jac took the piece of cake and stuffed it into his mouth, relishing the sweet bread mixed with chocolate. He never carder much for sweets, but there were some things he indulged in. Pound cake was one such indulgence. He laughed, almost sputtering his cake all over his front when she suggested they trow the watermelon up against something. He swallowed his soggy cake and breathed. "Well, that's another idea." He looked around, seriously considering it. There was not much they could throw it against on the sandy, empty beach. Unless they wanted a good helping of sand with their melon.
He sat up and fished out his pocket knife, "This'll have to do." He pulled the watermelon out and placed it on his lap. "Ready?" He asked her as he held the knife, point straight down, above the round, juicy melon, not unlike the blade of a guillotine poised for execution.
Marina Elemento One of my favorite passtimes is finding songs of characters. I'll keep an ear open for one fore De too. I am never without music so I will come across on soon most likely.

Delia just kept grinning as she watched him practically choke on the cake. There wasn't many hard surfaces around they'd be able to crack open the melon though, and she knew that. It made her miss the beaches of Maine, with their rocky shores and ice cool waters. This one was just as nice though, if not nicer, the only problem was the watermelon. She raised an eyebrow when he pulled out the pocket knife, suddenly curious as to what he carried around such a tool for.
At his question, she nodded her head, continuing to beam joyfully. "Off with his head!" she exclaimed in an uncharacteristically shrill, British voice.

Jac let out a bark of a laugh and slammed the knife into the watermelon. Nothing really happened. The knife sank into the flesh of the melon with a Shunk, and a little trickle of liquid welled up and dripped down the side, but overall, it was pretty anticlimactic. "Hmm..." He began to saw at it, slowly cutting it open. After a bit of a struggle, he managed to get a ragged slice out of it. He held it out to her, "Well, it's still edible." He looked sheepishly at the watermelon, now with a gaping gash in it's belly. After a breath, Jac set to work sawing another piece off for himself.
The gaping hole in the watermelon now twice the size, Jac sat back and enjoyed the juicy goodness with Delia, the sweet water dripping down his chin as he slurped at the meat inside.
Marina Elemento I think I found a couple of songs for her actually. How do you feel about country music? Specifiaclly Matina McBride and Shedaisy? 5432 run, She's a Butterfly

Delia jumped when the knife hit the melon, but she peered at it as he continued with a bit of distaste. Seeing his face made her smile again though as the rather asymmetrical chunk was cut from the melon's grasp. She grinned and took the piece gratefully. "Thanks." She waited for him to get his piece to eat it with him, however unnecessary. When she bit into the brightly colored fruit, she was immediately satisfied, laughing as it dripped down her chin. "This tastes like childhood," she exclaimed happily between bites. "We must've picked a good one, 'cause these babies are almost out of season!" Between the sunlight, sweet food and perfect company, Delia was rather thrilled.

It was turning out to be a very nice day indeed Now the the sun was out, it was starting to warm up, and Jac decided to take off his jacket. He polished off his watermelon and tossed the left over into one of the bags from the grocery store, then proceeded to pull his jacket over his head. It tried to take his shirt along with it, exposing his muscular back and sides, and very briefly, his firm stomach. "Yeah, well I sure know how to pick 'em!" He grunted as he wrestled with his jacket. There were still some scabs from the crash, but the bullet wound was almost completely a scar now. Aside from that, his skin was flawless, pale in the light of the sun.
The jacket off, he fixed his shirt, covering his skin once again. He looked at the watermelon, wondering if he wanted to attempt another slice off again or not. He decided to wait a bit, and instead, he stood to stretch his legs, the wind blowing his short hair away from his face and making his loose clothes flap about slightly.
Marina Elemento Oooh! I like that one too!

Delia ate her chunk of melon slowly, wiping the sparkling liquid that had dripped down her chin with her sleeve. Her jaw stopped mid-chew, however, as Jac began fumbling with his shirt. She assumed he wanted to take just the jacket off, but what she saw was much more skin than she assumed he'd intended. The sight of his bare, practically flawless skin made her cheeks flush just a little, but she hoped it would be mistaken for the heat of the sun. Her eyes also darted over the scabs and scars that dotted his body, but they were nothing compared to the gleam of his perfect skin. It relieved her to see the bullet wound had also turned light pink and formed a scar.
After a moment, she finally snapped out of it and continued eating the melon happily. Feeling suddenly rather warm as well, she rolled up the sleeves of her hoodie and stretched her bare legs out on the warm sand, digging her toes into it to find the cool layer. She looked up at Jac again when he stood and finished her watermelon with a small smile. "You look like a god of the sea," she said with a hint of amusement, but mostly in a trance of adoration.

Jac looked back at her with a sarcastic smile, "Pffft. God of the sea? you're crazy." He chuckled. He glanced back at the water. He bet it was freezing, but it looked like so much fun. "Hey De, how opposed are you to getting a little wet?" he asked. He was already rolling up his pant legs as he asked. At the very least, he wanted to go to the water's edge and dig for sand dabs. See if he could find a thumb sized one.

Delia sighed contently, closing her eyes for a moment and tilted her face toward the sun. It was warm on her skin, and quite delightful. Her eyes opened once more and she turned to look at Jac as he rolled up his pant legs. He looked like he wouldn't take no for an answer, and she wasn't about to protest. Instead she simply grinned at him, getting to her feet and wiping the sand off her legs. "Not very," she replied. She was already wearing shorts, luckily, just enough to wade in a little.

Jac smiled when she came to stand by him and began his decent to the water's edge. As the next wave of water broke, it sent a shallow torrent out and over the sand and Jac stepped into it, bumps forming on his arms as the cold water sent a chill throughout his body. He hadn't felt the cold, salt water of the ocean in so long, the feeling of it washing over his bare feet and ankles reminded him of childhood.
As the water ran back away from him, he squatted, not sitting but hovering over the damp sand, and waited for the next wave to send more water his way. When it did, he splashed his hands into it, spraying himself and Delia with droplets of the cold water. A chuckled escaped his mouth without him realizing, and he swished his hands to and fro in the shallow water before planting them firmly in the sand, letting them and his feet slowly get buried as sand and water ran back to join the ocean.
