User Image Squirrelpaw tilted her head in curiosity. What did Glimmerpaw mean? She didn't have time to memorize the spot yet? All one had to do was to look and there it was. Was was so hard about that? Of course, she didn't have much time to ponder it more, because soon her shoulder was being nudged. Crouching down, she waggled her rump in the air playfully before she pounced on her sister (gently of course). Squirrelpaw was really glad that her sister knew she didn't mean the question in a harmful way. She couldn't help it, she had a lot of questions and she didn't like to keep them inside.

The tabby apprentice squealed in surprise and jumped off of her sister when a fluffy cat appeared. It was weird. One moment, he wasn't there. And then poof! There he was. Squirrelpaw flattened her ears against her head and glared at Lightningpaw. Annoyingpaw? Annoyingpaw?! What in Starclan's name had she done? "I know that!" She hissed in her defense. She knew very well that a cat could forget where the apprentices den was. But she wasn't trying to hurt her sister. It was her sister for crying out loud.

When Lightningpaw glared at her, Squirrelpaw returned the glare with equal gall. Her tail lashed behind her, but she didn't do anything to Lightningpaw. Mostly because her dad was right there, and because she knew that she was in clear view of her mom too. She would get in double the trouble if she did anything. And then Lightningpaw was leading her sister away - something she could have easily done. And her sister hadn't even defended her? Glimmerpaw just let Lightningpaw say that about her.

Flopping down on the ground with a huff. She shrugged at her dad's question. "I'm not going to sleep." She meowed, swatting his cheek lightly when he made her fur stand up. Squirrelpaw tried to duck out of her father's grasp, but to no avail. She squirmed as he started to groom her fur the wrong way. "Papa! s-stop!" She breathed, pausing in her squirming to catch her breath.

Squirrelpaw sighed and let herself go limp in his grasp. "Does Glimmerpaw hate me now?" She asked suddenly, looking up at Burrpelt with wide eyes.

(OOC: I don't think Burrpelt and Skywhisker told Silverstar about Glimmerpaw. owo
I could be wrong. My memory is pretty bad. Dx )

Burrpelt chuckled at Squirrelpaw's attempts to get away. Unfortunately for her, Burrpelt was bigger and stronger, so her efforts didn't get her anywhere. He rasped his tongue over her fur, only grooming it properly when she went limp.

He was surprised at her question and paused to look at her, startled. "Of course not!" he replied, nuzzling Squirrelpaw. "It's just that Glimmerpaw might be a little troubled. I don't know if you've figured it out yet, but..." Burrpelt paused, wondering if he should have Skywhisker with him to discuss it. Well, it was better than Glimmerpaw's siblings being in the dark about everything.

The tom sighed and released Squirrelpaw, gazing at her gently. "Glimmerpaw is blind, little one. She can't see the world as we can," he told her. Thinking of it, he reminded himself that he and Skywhisker would have to mention it to Silverstar. Glimmerpaw was apprenticed now. It could cause more problems than they realized if their clan was left unaware.

User Image Squirrelpaw looked down at the ground when Burrpelt answered her question. If her sister didn't hate her, then why did she let Lightningpaw call her annoyingpaw? It wasn't like she'd done anything, not on purpose anyways. If she'd done something, she didn't know it. She was sure she didn't mean to do it though, if it was bad enough to be called names for. But then her father was continuing, his pause only adding to her pile of confusion.

When she was released, Squirrelpaw gave her pelt a shake and looked up at Burrpelt with wide eyes. Blind? Her sister was blind? Well that answered her question about memorizing where the apprentices slept. "But that's not why!" The tabby apprentice complained. Her father didn't get it. He didn't understand the point of her question at all. Were all fathers like that?

"She let him call me names.." She sighed and looked at her paws. "Aren't siblings s'posed to defend each other?" She looked up at Burrpelt. "Do you have siblings? Do we have more aunties or uncles?" Squirrelpaw bounded to her paws, the sadness she had not a moment earlier was pushed back as the new question entered her mind.

(OOC smile

Burrpelt flicked his ears at Squirrelpaw's protest. Oh. Oh! Was that what she was worried about? The tom shook his head. "I'm not sure what Lightningpaw was talking about," he answered. "I think that Glimmerpaw was just as confused. Sometimes we think before we talk, which makes others believe we're not doing anything about what is happening -- Glimmerpaw defending you, for example. But I wouldn't fret, little one."

The tabby stretched out and gave his daughter a smirk as she pressed about having any other relatives. "Your late uncle, Oaktail, was my brother," he replied, grief clouding his eyes for a moment. "He was killed defending the clan from a very scary beast. That was before you were born. Though, when I was about your age, I used to call my brother all sorts of names." He gave an amused chuckle. "Now that I think about it, Oaktail used to give me more trouble than I did in return. We didn't get along all the time, you know. I wish it hadn't been the case at certain times, but in the end, it strengthened our bond."

Burrpelt gazed up at the sky, sighing quietly. "You will face all sorts of trials with your brother and sister, Squirrelpaw. There may be times where you feel like they're no longer there or don't care about you. I pray that it won't happen, but I'm letting you know it could." He lowered his face down to Squirrelpaw, watching her closely. "No matter what happens, they'll always love you and they'll always be there."

User Image Squirrelpaw nodded hesitantly. So, maybe Glimmerpaw was just thinking things over? Now that she thought about it, her sister did look like she was thinking a lot. But still... Shaking her head, she sighed. She would try to do what her daddy was saying and not worry too much about it.

Then another question entered her mind and she fired it off, almost completely forgetting her earlier worry - for the time being. Squirrelpaw looked up at her father with wide eyes as he spoke of an uncle of hers. He was gone? But she hadn't met him yet? That wasn't very nice. "Did he have kits with anyone? Do I have cousins?" She squeezed in the question before her father continued speaking about him and his brother.

Squirrelpaw clamped her jaw shut as her father sighed and got serious. She shivered a bit when he spoke. She really didn't want that to happen. Green eyes fluttered shut, but she nodded nonetheless. She would try her best to remember that. Not that it was any reassurance; seeing as she forgot some things quickly. But maybe she'd remember this.

"Papa? Can Glimmerpaw still be a warrior like everyone else?"

”Yeah yeah, ya’gottit Burrbear!”

The handsome apprentice called out loudly, snorting under his breath at the supposed “threat” Burrpelt pretended to pose. He played along with a nervous chuckle before bolting off, tail between his legs. He wouldn't actually back down from any cat, no matter how much bigger they were! Proving that, he, of course, fought back when the muscular warrior’s little ginger daughter dared to challenge him with that puny glare of hers, he turned his head ostentatiously and downright sneered his comeback, baring his teeth when Squirrelpaw’s father wasn’t looking while he took off with her opposite of a sister. The night colored apprentice hadn’t missed the reaction a certain ginger tabby pulled when his princess made no attempt in defending her. It made a strange fuzzy feeling burn within his heart, speeding the pulse in an unusual fashion that young Lightningpaw failed to understand. With a shake of his pelt, he decided it was stupid and ignored the emotions stirring within his heart as he escorted Glimmerpaw to a nest in the center of the warm, soft, and comforting moss-filled den.

...

”I-I know’ya name S-Sweetiepaw…”

The deputy’s largest son grumbled to himself as he recalled the white tabby’s comment, his heated cheeks feeling as if they might as well burn hotter then the sun during a blazing greenleaf. She was just a helpless ol’ she-cat! Nothing more and certainly not anything less!

”Thanks.”

The pure hearted she-cat Lightningpaw had certainly saved from certain doom mumbled drowsily, visibly nodding off when the fluffy black tom carefully placed her within the nest; cautious as to affirm she had arrived safely. He crouched protectively beside her, his glowing blue gaze glittering with a rare gentleness as he regarded her fragile looking form. The tom wasn’t sure whether he should feel guilty or proud for helping her in her obvious time of need…but…there was the vow he made to himself after what he had…overheard…a few sunrises ago…

Lightningkit wandered around the back of the nursery’s den after successfully sneaking out, bored out of his ever-loving mind. Like he was going to listen to a she-cat like Skywhisker when she asked him to stay put with his denmates in the Nursery. That was like asking for hedgehogs to fly! Of course, she was a she-cat, so she obviously always made mistakes like this. Snorting in annoyance from her degrading impudence, Lightningkit was ready to give her a piece of his mind when, ironically, said she-cat suddenly returned. Silencing a gasp, the black tom took refuge in a nearby clump of ferns, wide blue eyes tracing the white warrior’s every step as she approached. "Momma! I smelled you coming!" Wasn’t that Glimmerkit? Augh…she better not tell on him! Hopefully, that ditsy she-kit hasn't even noticed his absence! "Come now. We're going to go visit cousin Moonblaze." WHAT?!? SHE GOT TO LEAVE?!? WHY?!!! "Moonblaze?! The medicine cat?" No, the badger named Mr. Fluffykins that lives in the leader's den, YES THE MEDICINE CAT!!! How ignorant could she-cats get? Ugh...at least Moonblaze was better then most...since Lightningkit could proudly say that his mother, the deputy, is Moonblaze's best friend. Which, of course, only meant special treatment for him in the future, the young tom-kit mused shrewdly. When he became the bestest warrior in the clans, he'd need good connections. "That's the one." Who else? Fandinghorizon? The she-cat's only Moonblaze's shadow, nothing more! Anyways, as the queen approached, Lightningkit suddenly became very aware that he could be found out, so, he burrowed deeper within his hiding place, suddenly glad that his fur wasn’t as obvious as Glimmerkit’s or some of his other more brightly furred clanmates. He listened anxiously as the voices grew louder…but, much to the relief of the escapee, she seemed to be heading out again…with Glimmerkit!? "I can walk momma." Oh StarClan's kits, I thought you could fly! Lightningkit sarcastically mused as he watched the she-kit wriggle in her mother's firm hold. What could be happening to that odd ball of a kit who more or less sat around all day with a weird blank stare in her eyes! Not to mention she refrained from rough housing or playing with the other kits most of the time…and when she did…she was always the last to pick up something or became befuddled and sat there with her same empty gaze…even if it was cute…what was he thinking? She was weak! …Right? Ugh. Whatever. Vehemence still rippled within the tom when he realized she was allowed to leave the Nursery but not him! What the mouse-dirt was that?!? She already got special treatment and now she gets even more?! Eager to get to the bottom of this heresy, and, with anger to fuel it, the tom-kit slunk after the mother and daughter duo…towards the makeshift medicine den. The tom blinked as the pretty white she-cat with the sparkly blue eyes his mother was really good friends with stopped before them, her face inspecting Glimmerkit’s from every angle. The tom furrowed his eyes in confusion, wondering what the group of weak girly cats could be talking about. He crept into another patch of foliage alongside the medicine den’s entrance that hid him rather well, praying to StarClan no cat noticed as he pressed himself into another fern growing within the den. StarClan must've been on his side from how lucky he was. With ears attentively twitching for the words of discussion, Lightningkit waited restlessly… ”Welcome back cousin, I see you’ve brought the kit in question. But before we begin, I promise you that I’ll help you in any way possible, so please don’t look so…well…defeated, for lack of a better word. Be strong and hopeful for your kits, for Glimmerkit, I can guarantee you that you are not a terrible mother too.” …What? Something was wrong with Glimmerkit? Well I didn’t need a medicine cat to know that! I could’ve told that mouse-brained queen that! But…what’s with the terrible mother stuff? Skywhisker…despite being a lousy she-cat…she isn’t a bad mother…I wonder why that came up…augh…whatever…not like I should care…just pointless she-cat matters that a tom couldn't care less about… His whiskers twitched in aggravation as conversation began to die down with greetings and other meaningless topics of discussion…atleast…what he found meaningless… Augh…pointless chatter…pointless chatter…tune it out…tune it out…this is interesting…the herb cat is getting somewhere…about time! I don’t want to be punished and get nothing out of it! This could be the juiciest piece of prey I’ve caught yet! Lightningkit concluded impatiently but ardently as he edged his ear forward for better reception. ”Skywhisker, blah have some good news, your kit is safe, blah blah blah she shows no signs of illness…Glimmerkit blahblahblah But, there is some…unfortunate news….I found something blah blah blah you were probably unaware of blah blah blah blah blah Cousin…there is no easy blah blah blah blah blah blah this…but… blah blah blah …Glimmerkit….she’s...she’s…” "What is..." YEAH! WHAT?! I thought my mother’s best friend would be a decent she-cat! Augh, they’re all the same! Come on then! Come on! Out with it! No cat’s waiting on you! Unless StarClan their selves told you to shut your muzzle, get on with it already!!! The audacious crow-black kitten exclaimed mentally as Moonblaze began to speak again. His small thorn-sharp claws unsheathed in anticipation, digging into the soft soil beneath his paws as he awaited the final verdict with a lashing tail. "She's what?" ”She’s blind.” …w-w-wh-what?…b-blind? As in…can’t see blind? Mother used to tell stories of the deputy before her…Sydnermon or something…and she couldn’t see at all…why did grandma let such a useless cat become deputy anyways? I swear…this clan is full of mouse-brains…off topic…off topic...but…G-Glimmerkit…she’s… Lightningkit couldn’t believe his ears, but it seemed that the news only got worse as he strained himself to eavesdrop better. ”Glimmerkit will never see the world beyond that of darkness. She won’t be able to see her siblings…She won’t see her father face…She can’t see her own mother….your face…" The tom didn’t think his eyes could grow any wider, already rivaling that of an owl’s…but…he never ceased to amaze himself. What horrible news! And now that he thought about it...he didn’t think he could feel this…well…bad…for a she-cat…but…he did…he painstakingly…did… Not only did he grieve for Skywhisker and the clan for the burden sweet Glimmerkit turned out to be…but…poor Glimmerkit…she didn’t deserve it…she was so… Innocent…kind…caring…gentle…cheerful…soft…and...I dare say…adorable…surely nothing deserving of never getting to see! Struggling to halt his overflowing thoughts and concerns, the tom’s ears twitched as he picked up more of the discussion, his body trembling with some unknown emotion he couldn’t possibly understand…whether it was grief…concern…anger…outrage…fear…or something more…he wasn’t sure. "She has a disability in eyesight and, unfortunately, will not be able to be the same as other warriors. But, it doesn’t mean she can’t become a warrior, she can train just as well as any other apprentice, but she’ll require…special training and such for this disability. All I can say is that I’m very sorry. I will visit her regularly to see how she’s fairing. I hope you know that none of this is your fault, no cat is perfect. This is something Glimmerkit has been given, perhaps as a trial, blindness doesn’t have to be a burden depending on how you use everything else. Perhaps her senses are a lot sharper than most cats, like Cindermoon….but…

I truly am sorry…

Even a medicine-cat can’t heal blindness…”

E-Even…even a medicine cat…even Moonblaze…c-can’t heal her? Can’t heal…blindness? Great StarClan…Glimmerkit…she’s…she’s really…no…no…no…no…no…no…no…no…no…no…

"It's not a gift." It doesn’t seem like it, no…Glimmerkit…Glimmerkit…Glimmerkit…Glimmerkit...Poor Glimmerkit... He felt…strangely enough…like the horrified mother… It was as if he suffered a pain he couldn’t place…it was comparable to...no...nothing....if it came from somewhere beyond the mind of a mere kit…something more then that…that a kit could never understand nor dream of…he wasn't sure... "It's not a gift. Have I done anything wrong and now they feel like they need to punish my kit?" The kit frowned, finding it hard to believe that the frantic queen did anything wrong...she took care of her kits just as well as any mother would...and she didn't do anything wrong he knew of…though…for StarClan…that was a different matter. A different matter entirely.

While a loud nagging cry in his head told him that it was all his warrior ancestors fault Glimmerkit was refused the wonder as sight, a stronger, clearer, and small whisper of a voice in his heart prompted the tom to believe that it was neither the mother or the clan of the star’s fault…and that he should continue to have faith in the starry cats that his mother had so much faith in…and the whole clan often spoke glorious stories of…
"…let’s discuss this matter outside." The word outside hit the snooping kit’s ears like a merciless boulder, causing his tail to fluff up twice its size and a dreadful shiver to run down his back. Glimmerkit, please watch Fadinghorizon for us until we get back. We’ll be back before you can say mouse.” No…no…take your time! Lightningkit cursed silently as he peeked into the den daringly, thanking StarClan many times over that they hadn’t noticed him yet and Skywhisker’s hesitance and grief held the two up. He stole a quick glance at the kit that really was in question, a strange sharpness piercing his heart when he gazed at her beautiful innocent blue eyes, round with confusion and curiosity that sparkled like small oceans…but vacant like a cloudless sky as sunhigh. He forcefully tore his eyes away from the she-kit in order to make his escape, casting one last glance of heartache he couldn’t name before darting for the nursery at the speed of lightning. Once he returned to the nursery, momentarily surprised with how lucky he seemed to be as of late when he slunk back into his nest; no one blinking an eye in question as they either napped or were too busy with something or another to notice him, he made his move and dove into his nest. StarClan really was on his side today. Releasing the nervous breath he held, the tom feigned sleep as he pondered his discoveries in the safety of the nursery. Glimmerkit won’t be able to ever become a good warrior…she’ll be different…more so then anyone else…she’ll never see her siblings apprenticed…or her parents…friends…first prey…first battle…or anything for that matter…what should I do…what can I do…wh— wait…why should I care? That means one less rival in my way to becoming the best warrior! …that didn’t feel as awesome as I thought it would…hmmm…no…no…no…thistles and thorns Lightningkit! She’s your clanmate! She’s your denmate! She’s yours…wait no she’s…what…WHAT…I meant…friend...yeah…wait…friend? Well… Yeah! She may be a weak she-kit but she’s still someone who you need to protect as the future hero of StarClan! Now that she’s a certified burden…she needs to be looked after! Protected! Guarded! Saved! Who’s going to be her warrior in shining fur when her family isn’t there to help her? If you’re going to be the greatest hero that ever lived…you have to do it! You! Not Skywhisker! Not Burrpelt! Not Brisk-kit! Not Squirrelkit! Or anyone else! You have to! It’s your duty now that you know the truth! Being her hero will show everyone that you’re the best warrior ever! Not to mention…it’ll make that stupid feeling I keep getting go away…stupid pangy sad feeling…stupid gooey fluttery feelings! Dumb mouse-brained heart getting all hyped up over nothing! I JUST FED YOU STOMACH! Why are you all fluttery! I didn't eat any butterflies! ...at least...not today!!! Er…do hearts even get hungry? Augh…whatever…the point is…I will be her hero….yeah…yeah…yeah! Yeah!! Yeah!!! ”YEAH!!! I’ll be the hero!!!” Lightningkit cried out obnoxiously, pumping his paw into the air in emphasis to his promise as the sightless she-kit’s protector…much to the surprise of his newly awoken and or surprised denmates. Though burning with embarrassment and sheepishness on the inside, Lightningkit, flustered but rejecting weakness, shot daggers at everyone around him, his rosy cheeks betraying the intimidating effort cruelly. ”Whut’re ya’ll lookin’t?!? Are ya ready tah fight? I'll fight'yah if you keep making owl eyes at me!” The kit defended himself with a snarl as he turned away and stalked to the corner of the den, trying to conceal his excitement and newfound joy...not to mention his humiliation. Welll...so what?!? He was going to protect Glimmerkit from anything that dare hurt or threaten her! He was sure of it! You hear that Glimmerkit? StarClan? THE WORLD!? I’ll be your hero, so don’t worry a pretty little whisker! I’ll protect you, Glimmetkit! I’m your hero! Now and forever!

"Good night Lightningpaw."

”Yeah, g’night Swe- GUAAAAAAA—”

Lightningpaw choked out, muffling his screech of surprise as a silky soft she-kit lay...too close for comfort...in the fluffiness that made his underbelly. If he wasn’t on fire, it sure felt like it now! Trembling and unable to ignore a sleeping she-cat nestled into him like he was an extended nest of some sort, the tom forced himself to look at her…which was a mistake. He held in a gasp of awe as he allowed the picture of such a ridiculously innocent and adorable she-cat within a deep slumber carve itself deeply within his memory. How could StarClan allow such an adorable she-cat exist? HOW? Wait…did he just…did he…no…no…no... No! NO! She-cat’s were weak! Nuisances! Burdens! Idiots! Monstrosities! INFERIOR! IN NO POSSIBLE WAY COULD THEY BE…be…be…be…BE…BE CUTE! Why was he so flustered? Why was his heart beating so quickly!? Why…why did Glimmerpawjust Glimmerpaw…trigger all of these confusing emotions and sensations he couldn’t define!? Why! Why!! Why!!! The dark pelted tom grumbled irritably to himself, ears flat against his skull as he pondered any possible reasons to his numerous questions. With a crestfallen groan, he succeeded in giving himself a headache instead. So, with a great sigh and a prayer to StarClan that Glimmerpaw would stay asleep, he carefully…and a bit reluctant- NO not that…wiggled his way from her grip, gently laying her head on a billow of feathers and velvety moss, and slithered out of the den, concluding that he just needed some fresh air and that he was overreacting. Just overreacting...right?

Stepping into the cool night scenery, Lightningpaw relished in the coiling breezes which carried the revitalizing aroma of the forest; already did he feel at peace, like a cool rain after a fire. But…the prickling warmth from Glimmerpaw's touch had refused to die away and the tom could practically feel said she-cat's warmth seeping into his own once more. Her soft sweet white tabby fur that felt as comforting as his mother's protective embrace…that kind gracious smile that rivaled the star’s beauty in looks…the way she innocentl- OKAY. STOP. YOU NEED TO GET YOUR MIND OFF OF HE— The tom cut his scolding conscious when a sleek black pelt caught his eye. Blinking, Lightningpaw realized he spotted a melancholic looking Dawnrise, that off-to-the-side she-cat he hadn’t really spoken to much, besides generic and awkward exchanges every now and then. Knowing that this would banish those annoying thoughts spinning webs of lies and idiocy in his head, the mini-male-Thunderflight trotted on over to where the she-cat currently rested, a cheeky grin plastered across his face as he studied the sky with her; stretching his neck to prove it. He noticed the forlorn and dull sheen within her beautiful stormy grays. That wouldn't do! She needed some of Lightningpaw’s cheering up time! So, eyes shining arrogantly, he glanced over at the lithe warrior from the corner of his eye, his smirk growing wider by the heartbeat.

”Th’sky’s lookin’ real pritty with'em sparklin’ stars and ol’ moonie up’ere….uh’course, they cou’nevir out shine yur’s truly!”

Maybe praising myself isn't the best way to cheer up a sad she-cat...hmmm...

Immediately thinking that this wouldn't do to boost a clanmate’s positive-o-meter, he sighed and faced the pretty raven pelted she-cat with a somewhat serious look, despite the overbearing playful glitter within his lustrous blue orbs.

”Oi, wha’gots yah dow’nin the dumps, eh Dawners?”

(OOC: I miss Oaktail. T^T I was so moved to mention him again.)

Burrpelt chuckled at Squirrelpaw's inquisitiveness. "No, no he didn't have any kits. He would have been one heck of a father, I bet," he replied, a little amused. How would have Oaktail been as a father? Probably the goofiest thing ever. How's StarClan? he wondered up at his brother. He could only imagine what sort of response he'd hear: 'There is absolutely nothing to do. It's perfect. I can sleep all I want.'

He shook the thoughts away and paid attention to Squirrelpaw who, sure enough, had another question to ask. A question that had worried Burrpelt in his own mind. "She can," he replied, a little hesitantly. "But it may take a little longer. She will need much support, especially from you and your brother." He prayed that Glimmerpaw would be treated like everyone else. She didn't ask to be born that way -- no one did. If anyone thought her to be weak or useless, Burrpelt himself would face them.

Dawnrise had watched and listened as the warrior and the apprentices spoke to each other, sighing dully. She begins to groom herself, the pale moonlight shining onto her fur as she removes all the burrs and leaves from it. With a lot of rigorous licking, she smooths her pelt down with satisfaction.

She looks at her rumbling stomach, and finally decided to eat something. As she stands, she wobbles on her paws, feeling lightheaded and drowsy. She yawns and fetches a small bird from the pile, and goes back to her original spot to eat, aching with loneliness.

"It's so quiet these days, no cats seem to be up for sharing tongues."

She says to herself, quickly finishing off the bird in a few famished bites. She crunches on the bones as she stares up at silverpelt once more. She looks up at Lighteningpaw approaches her, speaking about himself, of course, which made her snortle with laughter. Her ears twitch at him, and she sits herself up, craning her neck to study the sky more closely.

"Oh, it's nothing. Just feeling a bit lonely."

She licks her chest fur with embarrassment, trying her advert her gaze.

User Image Squirrelpaw sighed at the response she got. So no cousins then. Well, not unless Dawnsky decided to go and have kittens. But until then, no cousins. Before long, she asked a question that had been in her mind ever since she found out her sister couldn't see anything. "It's gotta be real weird." She mumbled, looking down at her paws. She wondered what it would be like to not be able to see anything. It didn't sound like very much fun. Squirrelpaw shifted on her paws, she would try her best to not treat her sister differently. Because up until she knew, they had played like normal cats. So, she was a normal cat... Sort of.

Shaking her head, the tabby apprentice stifled a yawn. "I think I'm gonna go to sleep now papa." She murmured, nuzzling against her father briefly. "Love you." And then she scampered off to where the apprentices were sleeping. Poking her head in, she let out a sigh of relief when she saw that Lightningpaw wasn't anywhere near Glimmerpaw. That was a good thing, because for whatever reason; the tom didn't like her at all. Glancing around, she padded over to her sister and curled up beside her. Reaching over to give her sister a swift lick between the ears, she murmured a "Good night Glimmerpaw." before she allowed her eyes so slip closed.

ooc;; I didn't know what else to do with her. I had no more questions c:

Setting:

The Reference book has been updated, but in summary, it is MORNING on MAY the 25th (1 week timeskip). It is CLOUDY, but it is not RAINING. Tonight is the FULL MOON, but right now it is MORNING.

Situational:
Fadinghorizon returned from the MOONPOOL a week ago, and she brought home GRAVE NEWS: StarClan is warning the Clans of STRANGERS. The Clans should be on their guard.
Although StarClan has warned the other clans about a TRAITOR, Fadinghorizon did not receive a similar prophecy. Moonblaze, however, did receive a prophecy that seemed to trouble her, although she didn't tell Fadinghorizon about it at the Moonpool. Fadinghorizon is worried about her former mentor's secrecy, and is concerned she may be keeping information from StormClan. StormClan knows about this, and there is a rumor that Moonblaze is more loyal to BreezeClan, though this is vehemently denied by those who know her well.

For StormClan, the prophecy warning of STRANGERS has increased tensions between those who advocate PUREBLOOD WARRIORS and those who have ROGUE OR KITTYPET blood. Whether or not StarClan meant strangers would be coming or strangers that had already been accepted into the Clan is becoming a hot topic.

Important Bits:

Silverstar's just returned from a MEETING WITH GALESTAR about the FALLEN TREE across the BREEZECLAN-STORMCLAN BORDER. The bridge allows easy access between Clans. Both leaders have promised not to use it for harm, and only to cross it on official and serious business. APPRENTICES and WARRIORS are not allowed to cross without Silverstar's permission.
Silverstar has also been showing signs of her OLD AGE. Her fur is starting to go gray in the white parts, and she seems to need MORE SLEEP THAN USUAL. Other than this, though, she's been in good health.

Thunderflight is leading a patrol to the NIGHTCLAN border. She has noticed a STRONGER SMELL along the border and is suspicioius about why NightClan patrols are coming SO CLOSE to the border. She suspects they have INCREASED PATROLS, though she doesn't understand why. She hopes to run into a patrol soon and ASK THEM WHY they've been hanging around.
Players feel free to join. State in your post that Thunderflight ordered you to accompany the patrol.

Silverstar strolls into camp, flicking her tail with amusement. She's pleased with the results of her meeting with Galestar, who seemed amiable and friendly. BreezeClan and StormClan have been on really good terms, and they've been mutually benefiting one another.
Silverstar knows she should be careful with how friendly she acts towards another Clan, but during such harsh times, over caution could mean death in her Clan. Right now, BreezeClan and StormClan were just helping each other survive. They were careful with what they were doing, and it was helping their clanmates. That's what mattered.
She found herself feeling grateful that Galestar was the leader, though. She couldn't imagine what situation StormClan would be in if someone like Foxstar was also leader of BreezeClan. She liked Galestar better, too.
Silverstar glances around suddenly, seeming to remember something. Her fur bristles in embarrassment and she slips back out of camp, hoping it wasn't noticed. She seems to be heading somewhere out in StormClan territory...

Thunderflight stands in the center of camp and calls for a patrol. (( State if she called your cat's name or not )). Once everyone has gathered, she sighs and says, "Okay everyone, we're going to check out the NightClan border. I'm pretty sure Foxstar has been increasing patrols again so I want to see if we can catch a patrol there and ask them why they're so adamant about checking our border. Also, I want to double check something."
The deputy's eyes flicker with concern. She's pretty sure she can smell Foxstar's scent on a daily basis. She hopes she's wrong, but she suspects he's been present on every patrol that has been across that border. She needs to make sure before reporting it to Silverstar.
She flicks her tail and leads the patrol out of the campsite.

Darkstorm is nowhere to be seen. He's probably not at camp right now.

Skywhisker shifted her gaze towards the center of the camp when she heard her name in Thunderflight's patrol. Drawing her paw over her face once more, she got to her paws and padded closer with the rest of the cats called. If she was honest, she would have preferred a hunting patrol; although those were still a bit less frequent to give the prey a better chance at trickling back in. The slender she-warrior glanced back at where Glimmerpaw was seated before trotting after Thunderflight with a flick of her tail. She would talk to her daughter later, see how she was fairing, but for now - she shifted her attention to the patrol at paw.

Dustpaw padded into the center of the camp, just returning from bringing the elders prey. His tail and fur was swathed in dust and leaf bits as always, much to the chagrin of many of his clanmates. He simply didn't have time for a proper washing, not that it mattered to him. He always had sticks and dust in his plumy tail, even when he gave it a thorough washing.

Dustpaw watched Thunderflight gather together a patrol. He'd been busy with helping clean up camp after the earthquake, but never failed to give a friendly greeting to his fellow clan members. His perky attitude had recovered after the earthquake. However, he could sense tension in the very air. Everyone, it seemed, was on edge.

Silverstar padded into camp, her silver fur glinting in the sunlight. She padded over to Dustpaw, her eyes glowing with kindness.

"Hi, Dustpaw," she meowed, flicking her tail. "How are you doing today? You seem troubled."

Darkstorm padded in a few moments after her, turning his head around. "You'd think I'd be able to find my grandchildren quickly," he rumbled, twitching his ears, "they are so great in number. Yet I cannot spot one in this camp. Are they hiding from me?"

"I'm fine, Silverstar," Dustpaw said truthfully. The apprentice wasn't quite sure what was troubling him. It was a number of things, if he was to be perfectly honest. There was so much work to do, there were the rising tensions, and Dustpaw felt cut off from his fellow apprentices. Though young, he was more aware of what was going on than the younger apprentices were. With a sigh, he looked up at his leader. "I can't help but feel that things aren't okay, but because I'm an apprentice no one will tell me exactly what's happening or what I can do."

"Hello, Darkstorm,"
Dustpaw greeted. It wasn't as cheerful as he hoped, but it would have to do. He turned back to his leader and looked up at her with blue eyes that lacked their usual glint of mischief
