Overall, it is a nice anime and fun to watch. I loved the series. I want to buy the DVD...... smile biggrin

If you buy it may i recommand buying it directly from amazon, I got the entire boxset there for only 27 something, with free shipping. It was the best deal i found.

I'm so buying that with my next paycheck o-o;;;

I really love this anime. The graphics are so cute and I was completely amazed by the storyline. It was perfect. An entire anime about ballet and with amazing classical music. My son even loved the entire thing. He would sit and watch the whole series with me. ^^ The storyline was perfect and the dub was as well. Too bad not many people know of this little gem of a title. Because Princess Tutu can do what many animes can't. Pull of extreme cuteness without making the entire anime suck.

I know, right? It's simply enchanting. We all talk about how it's a magical girl anime, yet we love it and dislike all other magical girl anime. It's one of a kind really. A shojo unlike any other shojo. Plus, the ballet and classical musical elements are what sealed the deal for me. I'm happy to meet another fan ♪~♪ d(^o^)b♪~♪ランラン

Yeah! I think that's why so many people like it as well xD! Well, when you do happen to find fans of it. :3

I dislike pretty much all other magical girl anime, I'll give it a shot, but most likely I'll hate it xD; When I first started watching Tutu I was all "Pshhh. This looks so gay." Because it just....magical girl D:

And back then I was all "tough" y'know? Ballet was for sissies.
Though I'd never admit that deep inside me I LOVED it. I still do. :3
I think the only other magical girls I've liked was Sailor Moon and Cardcaptors, Cardcaptors 'cause it was so darn cute and kinda different (and I grew up with it) and Sailor Moon simply because I lived off of it as a child, so it has a special place in my heart xD.

I liked Sailor Moon when I was about twelve and under, but when I tried to rewatch it not too long ago I was like "WTF is this s**t?!" XD

I'll never stop loving Cardcaptor Sakura!! <3
Even though it's just as magical girl and twice as shojo, I still really enjoy it. The magical girl genre can be really entertaining, as long as the plot isn't too childish. That's probably why I dislike Mermaid Melody Pichi Pichi Pich so much too ^^;;

I never watched that one, I tend to avoid overly-shoujo things in anime, though I read really shoujo manga. CCS was the exception, and I believe it's going to be about the only one xD

Yeah, that was basically my reaction to Sailor Moon when I re-watched it, but I still like it because I grew up with it, fond memories, y'know? Not like it's on my favorite list and I watch it regurarly xDDD! Sometimes I do watch some of it with friends though, for the heck of it. We'll usually commentary and poke fun at it while we do it, lulz.

Sometimes I find myself attracted to overly-shoujo series though, like the art and stuff o_O; Like Magical Meow Meow Taruto, haha xDDD
I was all, "OMGCUTE! <333" But I've never watched it, just saw some of the art. I was tempted to buy the boxed set last time I was at Best Buy because they had it on sale for the price of one DVD.

I still love the characters and the memories, but I'm shocked at how disgustingly bad that anime is and always was XD Haha

I actually like the cute stuff, especially art-wise. It's funny you should be the opposite, because my macho brother can't live without cutsie style anime. He hates shojo plots, but tons of the anime he watches features over the top cute girls with super cute voices. ( ̄▽ ̄)ノ

Still, you shoulda gone for that boxset ∑(O_O;)

Yeees, I should have, but I can't stand buying something without having some sort of taste as to what it's like first. If I'd seen the first episode I and liked it, I would have gone for it. Oh well. Maybe when I head back they'll still have it, and I can get it ^^

Cute art is a must, usually. Like, about € of the time I'll get all x333 over cute art, but there's just days when I don't like it, haha. The plot, I'm with your brother, can be left behind haha. That's why I read the manga instead of watching anime for cutesy-shoujos, because I can't stand to see characters like that come to life, it makes me wanna head/desk, and usually they have those pathetic innocent and naiive voices, in both tracks X_X (I'm thinking of Ai Yori Aoshi here ahahah xD; )

Mostly I tend to go for art that's different, that's why I've kinda gotten away from the cutesy-shoujo art, after a long time they start to look the same, sadly.

(You want cutesy shoujo art without the ((well, too cutesy)) shoujo plot??? Read Magical x Miracle if you haven't already :3 )

*Adds Magical x Miracle to shopping list*

The main reason I got into anime and manga was for the art, if I remember correctly. I could always become captivated by any style, until I developed a personal taste. I'm still up for watching anything, but I do tend to enjoy anime more if the artwork is beautiful. Even though a plot can save a series, I might watch the episode and think "Bleeeugh!" because the art is so bad.

It's nice to see something drawn is a less naive style once in a while. That's probably why I went so mad for Parakiss after I took a looooong break form anime.

Yay!! I think you'll enjoy it, it's simple and to the point, kinda read but at the same time it's not like, barf-worthy for cliche-ness. The cliche's it has are discreet, I think. And, it's only six volumes long :3

Yeees! I totally understand about art and being captivated by it. Sometimes I'll have a series I'm watching or reading, and I'll either be ranting about how the art could be soooo much better if they changed this one tiny thing, or I'll be raving over how amazing the art is. (I raved over PT's art :3 I liked how it had kind of a simplistic style but at the same time it had so much character that really fit the feel of the series)

Sweet. I tend to enjoy anything as long as I don't get bored (^___^) Hehe.

Princess Tutu has such amazing animation. I thought the manga kinda tried to imitate the style of the anime, so it really failed to create its own air of magic... for me anyway.

The art looked too stiff in the manga, Meggie no likey it. D:

I heard there was a kiss scene between Ahiru and Fakir in the Japanese version surprised I would like to see that, though xD

The cat vid's still loading, its being retarded today for some reason D:
