Once while marching the halftime show I tripped when I flanked because the field was all wet and slipperry and I tripped on my cape trying to get back up.
It was horrible.
The trombones teased me.

i almost fell during rehersal. it was like a slow-motion fall and i got to my knees. But my friend fell hard core during a field show performance and bent her trombone slide. it was pretty sad(lucky she got up and back in). many people in my school marching band has fallen...-_-;;

I've never fallen during a performance, but I have fallen the third or forth day of band camp my first year

yeah. I was back marching in a football game and forgot that a ribbon was there. Stupid me found it and tripped. I fell down and quickly got back up. It was embarrising at first but I laughed it off in the stands. Looking back now, it was hilarious.

this percussionist fell down while doing the left slide. I don't mean to sound mean but it was pretty funny. I felt bad for her, until the band directors said right slide and I went left. I felt like such an idiot redface mrgreen lol

I fell just yesturday. It had rained the previous night and the grass was really slick at the football game. We had changed the drill two days before so that I had to go a completely different direction and I had trouble finding my next set after a scatter drill and when I did I had to snap into a halt and slipped and landed on my knees. I got up some 2-4 counts later just in time to play my first note of the movement. I'm just glad it was a halt. The most embarrasing part that it was band day and all those middle schoolers saw it.

Well, it wasn't during a performance, but after our last game, when we were walking up the hill to the band room, I slipped, my mouthpiece hit me in the face, and I had a bruise under my eye for like three days.

Damn Drillmasters have no traction. >_<
Also, those ten spin calls in a row couldnt've helped. xD

Also, I heard last year, during a particularly muddy practice, one of our section leaders, Eamon, fell over, with his sousaphone, and started a mud fight. Why couldn't I have been in marching band last year!?!?! >_<

I've never actually fallen myself, but at one of our competitions my friend fell on her butt without actually tripping over anything... but she picked herself up quickly and stayed in step =] At that same competition, the drumline section leader, who plays quints, almost fell and ended up doing a barrel turn while marching...

We still won first place 0_o

Over the course of four years I've fallen four times, all during practices. The first time, my freshman year, we were going backwards on a diagonal and I tripped and fell, then had to roll out of the way because the other people coming backwards couldn't see me. The second time, my sophmore year, we were doing an X shape and I went backwards, hit a pivot point, and went down, just in time for the next person (a 6'1" baritone player who outweighs me by at least 60 lbs.) to fall on top of me. Needless to say, that hurt. The other two times I've fallen were both this year (senior year) in the same set. I double time backwards and over three yards in sixteen counts, while dodging a trumpet player. The first time I fell the trumpet player came back too fast so my foot was under him and I couldn't stop, tripping both of us. The second time was yesterday, where I was concentrating on the fact that my clarinet wasn't working and just lost my balance. I went down, couldn't find my spot, and proceeded to hyperventilate and basically have an emotional break down.

Dear Lord, I'm clumsy....
