Belle89 froggyfluf thou shalt not wear blue socks with thine black shoes. No fair! You get black marching shoes??! Ours are white and have to be completely SPOTLESS for inspection! ya, i'll be wearing them for the first time this week eek . i'm usually a guardie, but i get to wear a normal marching uniform for this stand-still concert. thine bells shalt be pointed towards the pressbox.

thou shalt make sure the crumberbun actually Will catch crumbs...(freshmen screw this up sooooooo much when they put on their uniform for the first time...)
THOU SHALT HAVE ENTHUSIASM!!! (one of our most talented trombonists doesn't give a flying muffin about the band...infact, hes failing band just because he never shows up for any of the events)
thou shalt not leave your instrument in any place where it could be feasibly, and easily damaged...
thou shalt brush thy teeth before playing yon instrument...
thou shalt clean thy instrument whenever possible. (I get the most horrible smelling buildup inside my saxophone mouthpieces, hence the brush before you play rule)
thou shalt shine and polish yon instrument, then ye may polish thine marching shoes.
thou shalt follow the tempo of the BD or yon Drum Major.
(on pain of death)

Hayashi Aki Baelia18 Thou shalt not roll down when thou march backwards. Depends on the state, and also the consistancy. If the ENTIRE band is doing the toe-only thing, you don't get points off, and vice versa. Also, we used to do roll-backs if we were marching vvvvvveeeeeerrryyy sllllllllloooowww or we would fall over, and falling over is worse than roll-backs.

The Mellophonist ((and nobody can complain! you chose it you lift it! though, the baritones in our band have a right to during week one, though they don't...and the mellos too...but the trumpets, and pics and flutes do...even clarinets...)) that is so true.... my baritone is so heavy that first week.. but i work out now.. you forgot... thy shault not step on flags thy shault not look down while marching, the ground isn't going anywhere.

The Kelpsinator Thou shalt learn to undress in a crowed parking lot open to the world without flashing anyone. when did that start? blaugh blaugh blaugh i dont care i still do that one... almost got kicked out of band bc of it too but i dont care.. it beats the crowded band room and bathrooms and everywhere else....

hehe, i cant help it, i heart this thread ^^
keep thine germs to yonself when it comes to yon instruments.
thou shalt not make fun of the section leader. (hehe, im the french horn section leader and im only a sophmore.there is a senior and a freshman in my section. hehe)
thou shalt jive in a correct manner, not to see how low you can go. ( i need to learn that sweatdrop )
march at the correct tempo, and not at the cadence that is playing in your head. (you need to learn this yoshi!!) (hes a trumpet, so we had to forgive him)
