Hey Kiddies! I am so glad that my thread has blossomed as it has! Thanks everyone for contributing and helping others out! Keep the links a'comin'!!

I have a KANJI link that will help many of you. All you need to know is your hiragana and katakana and from there you can get to know the Kanji. I have to warn you>> when you enter this site the Kanji may be intimidating BUT once you get to the drill its smooth sailing. This website is for those wanting to study Kanji for the Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) but it is sooo good for others too who want to get Kanji vocab under their belt. I think your PC must be able to read Japanese writing!

http://www.jlpt-kanji.com/

My recommendation is to click VOCABULARY>> Look at the lower right and choose what level your skills are at. 1= Fluent 4=Beginner>> From there things should be self explanatory! You work with 10-14 kanji at a time and you can choose for each word to see the Meaning, the kana or a full dictionary read. No timers. No pressure.
CHECK IT OUT!!!

Ya ho! Here is a webpage that you may all douzo yourselves to. I made it for a friend of mine. It isn't much, but it teaches a little bit of slang you are bound to run into.

Everyone~

I know that many of us study on our own or even have games to keep our minds sharp in the Japanese language. I think the Shiritori game going on here is great. I am learning words and posting whats in my head at the same time.

I want to make this the link thread. So if you go to certain websites
that greatly aid you in your quest for Japanese fluency please post
them here.

I will kickoff~

The Japanese Page
http://www.thejapanesepage.com/news.php

Japan Today News website about Japan in English
http://www.japantoday.com

About.com Go to this site. Type in the search Japanese Language
then check out the tons of stuff they got as far as culture, breaking
down Kanji and even Japanese cuisine (else where on their massive
site).
http://www.about.com

These may need for your computer to already be able to read Japanese symbols
Kanji-A-Day
http://www.kanji-a-day.com/quiz/index.php

Japanese-kanji.com
http://www.Japanese-kanji.com

Order Japanese goods from this site (I havent tried yet sweatdrop )
http://www.jun-gifts.com/

hope this helps someone!! 3nodding Everyone, please post any that you have found helpful. Also, check out the tons of links Gaia suggests!

Thank you!

Here is my favorite dictionary:
http://jisho.org/

I started learning with japanese-online, it's a very nice site, but I didn't finish all the lessons yet. sweatdrop
This one has a lot of grammar. It explains a lot of verb forms, particles and adjectives. I realy like it:
http://www.timwerx.net/language/index.htm
And I also didn't finish all yet. sweatdrop

I like to look up for kanji in the following site because it shows how to draw them and has lots of information and examples:
http://www.mahou.org/Kanji/

I also like this site about kanji: http://www.kanjisite.com/

That's all for now.
Thanks for your links. ^^

Hey kiddies, I found a Firefox add-on you may be interested in. It is called Kanji-lish. https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/7208

This add-on takes the words you have on the screen and inputs the kanji for you. You can choose the kanji to replace the entire word or just the first letter. I just wanted the first letter as you can see below.

For example from Kanji-lish working in Gaia:

君ou got 1 金old for surfing

You got 1 gold for surfing.

君= you
金= gold

This is just one more way for you to get that kanji learning in there.

Also, if you have Rikaichan from polarcloud.com that add on will even read the kanji that Kanji-lish had put on your page. Check it out.
