Well, at least you people know what you can do. I'm just a casual player. If I can tech or anything, I don't know the names for it, and quite frankly I was hoping I could just play with my friends instead of going against complete strangers online.
... But... yeah. I guess there's no really helping it. Maybe I'll improve a little so I won't get killed so badly. ^^;;

Who said all those special skills are going to be in SSBB? Cause I know a lot of them are just secret techinques in the game not told but some like wavedashing I dont think is meant to be in the game. And the controls will probebly be a lot different so learning how to do all the secret techinques and possibely new ones will take a while at least. Also I think most ppl are not experts at the game. The ones that really look into the secrets and things in the game will be good at it. Like the ppl on this fourm im sure they are here to learn more and be able to play better.
Sometimes I think I say too many useless things sweatdrop xd

ArcVyse Watch this video of PC Chris vs Mew2KingIf you can't at least watch this vid and pick apart all of the advanced techs in a match like this, then you're going to be behind some 25000 people who can play using advanced techs like these two when Brawl comes out and you start playing online. With so many people bringing over the skills they have developed in Melee, it's going to be a rude wakeup call for the people who think they are SSBM Gods when really they couldn't tell their SHUFFL'd Sex kicks from their Reverse SHDL's. Discuss: 1. The Skill gap between casual players, amateur players and Professional players (Like PC Chris and Mew2King) 2. How cool Brawl's online will be 3. How much the skill gap may shorten once more people start playing at a higher level. dude. honestly. who really gives a crap. isn't this just supposed to be fun. people take this way too seriously. just play. don't worry about advanced techs. just play and have a good time. its not like it's a life or death situation if ou lose.

ArcVyse Yeah that's pretty much a n00b post there, and besides, 35 is nothing in cruel melee, the record is 2100 with Pikachu. who are any of you to say who noobs are and aren't. for all you know he has been playing for years and might be better than you. i'm tired of people who think they can place people by their own personal beliefs.

Amargana They jmp around so much... stare I'd have gotten myself killed so fast...I think. Oh well, to each his own. I probably suck, to state it harshly. I don't care. If I fight online, I will play and lose and laugh at how much I stink. At least I can beat my friends, sister, and godbrothers! sweatdrop But they aren't that good either, so maybe I'm just kidding myself. If you see me playing online in the future, know that I am really inexperienced, but don't underestimate me--I'm still dangerous, and I've been dubbed a Combo Cheater. mad D It's the best I could do. see. i like people like her who just play for fun and don't give a crap. thank you biggrin

There will definitely will be new advanced techs that will be discovered in Brawl. Pros will have to do a bit of learning as well.

Hahaha, I'm not sure I understand the point of this thread.
Skill gap? Rude awakening? Dude, it's a video game. The object is for the audience to have fun. If a person has fun playing the game, even if they aren't showing off uber leet skillz, then the purpose has been fulfilled.

dante_sparta dude. honestly. who really gives a crap. isn't this just supposed to be fun. people take this way too seriously. just play. don't worry about advanced techs. just play and have a good time. its not like it's a life or death situation if ou lose. Except it isn't exactly fun when you lose every single damn time. That's what's going to happen when people go online, and when happens, no one will play online except for those who do use advanced techniques. Besides, this isn't so much targetted at those who play the game casually, so much as it's targetted at those who play frequently and claim they're "the best" without using advanced techniques. Sirlin has some really great articles on competitive play. I recommend you read at least part one.

The way I see it, there are two kinds of good ssb players: 1) There's the good players, like me, who are good and beat up level 9s without too much problem. bu then there are: 2) Those people who are so totally awesome, you just wanna track them down and declare them your god. There are lots of people like that, but then there are people like number 1. So if there is the online play, how is it going to be fair when us good people go up against the awesome people? And part of the fun is interacting with your opponent. I hope that Nintendo and Hal can address these problems. Perhaps a skill based match maker like on metroid Prime Hunters. And a headset and voice chat system similiar to Xbox. Why, with improvements, Brawl could be the best online multiplayer console game since Halo 2!

Dude, that's like saying that the only people who are going to play Halo 3 online are the ones who pwned Halo and Halo 2. In other words, it's not true.
