Like at the spring coronet in Cae Mor!! 3nodding heart Bill said that he was setting up a bardic circle for it and we have to do a peice for it. granted last night I saw him and we were all to busy laughing to think about events.

By the way, anyone who liked the Queen filk should sing it as often as they can. I have discovered that I cannot. Unfortunately I don't have the range for it, and there are notes in "The Show Must Go On" that I actually CAN NOT hit. But I want it performed if at all possible.

I wrote this in about a day and a half, because I didn't have anything new for the bardic event. It is, of course, a reference to this Pennsic. My Chirigun I'm so tired of waiting here Confined by a stranger's modern fears And if you have to leave, I wish that you would just leave Because there's some first aiders here, and they won't leave me alone Chorus, part one: They aren't sure how to heal It's a game, but you were real There's just so much that our own time has changed Chorus, part two: We'd faint, you'd know not to cut at the seams We'd drink, you'd know what suprise really means You know that you were a part of the dreams More than we asked you to be You used to prevent me from puncturing my spleen Now I don't trust anyone without a fleen It casts a cloud over a pleasant war After they chased away all of you from the site Chorus, parts one and two Bridge: I'm not saying EMTs have no clue But if you were a mundane, would you always know what to do? Spoken, after bridge: "What's that?" "It's armor bite." "Armor bites?! Wait... that guy's armor does have teeth." Chorus part one, two, two. Spoken, last chorus: "It's strawberry suprize! The suprize is, there's no strawberries." Before I sang this, I said I doubted anyone would recognise the song this was a parody of. The next day three people came up to me, said, "Evenesense" and walked off.

Holy scraps. No one's posted any filks since my last Harper's Retreat filk. eek That makes me sad on the inside. Okay, so there's this event labor day weekend in Stonemarche, a barony famous for it's bards, (and the fact that childern and dogs outnumber adult humans at events) which is dedicated entirely to bards. 3nodding Super-period songs, horrible filks, classes on making period intruments; it's great. That's Harper's Retreat. Each year at Pennsic, as I pack up, I write a filk to sing at Harper's. This year I wrote four half-filks, none of which I could finish properly. Then, on the way down to Harper's, I suddenly realised "Silence" sounds like "Violence". The rest just came out. Quote: Enjoy the Violence( parody of Enjoy the Silence by Depeche Mode, though I sang it a bit more like the Lacuna Coil verison. But that's not the point.) Heated silence Starts the violence Blows come crashing down, onto your little head Painful to you Swords slice through you Though it's just a game, in the game you're dead (chorus)All I ever wanted, all I ever needed In the field, bearing arms Bruised and beaten, fighters sweeten As I watch them do harm Shields are maken for their breaking Spears fly out to kill, sides are trivial History and lores Are all old wars Peace is unwritten, and forgettable (chorus x2)Enjoy the violence (x2) And then I wrote another half-filk after the bardic. sweatdrop

I've heard a couple of clever filks of the one song with the 'How many of them can we make die?' bit to it. For example... 'How many mugs can we make dry?' and 'How many bards can we make cry?'
Don't have the lyrics, but if anyone else does, I'd appreciate the laughs. Funny stuff.
