I think that was just the broken window on the plane that the pilot was totally yanked up against and then dragged over several times.

Perhaps it has some sort of cloaking type thing that based on a camera? And the camera happened to be pointing at the black smoke? Or was malfunctioning?

Kate and Jack are walking next to each other, shooting furtive glances that say, 'Hah, I got the dynamite,' and, 'Hah, I ACTUALLY got the dynamite.' Or possibly, 'Let's get down and do it right here,' and, 'Too bad Sawyer isn't here.'

Anyway, I think there's a sound and they both look toward it. Jack can't believe what he sees, it's a floating black smoke cloud thing! And it floats away very quickly. He looks at Kate like, please tell me you saw that. And Kate says she saw it too. Of course, we assume they saw black smokey cloud floaty ghost things too.
