lunashock I'm a: Housekeeper Day Care Center Teacher Cook Computer Operator Laundry Machine Operator Janitor Facilities manager Car Driver CEO Psychologist xd In other words, I'm a stay at home mother. I just always get a smile out of that one. Although, hopefully, in the next year (well this fall I want to take online classes), I'll be going to school to be a diagnostic medical sonographer. Depending on how that goes, I might look into radiology tech. The most important job in the world.

Hee hee, I dunno Lightsenshi, firefighters, police officers, and doctors are still very important. Mom's are tough, but they need a community to back them up.
Well how I got here and my career path. Well I hate cooking, burn things when I try, and I'm definitely not attractive enough to catch a husband and I just don't have the financial resources to attempt single motherhood (my mom's a single mum, I applaud her, but she is so exhausted at the end of the day).
I'm 22, almost 23 years old. I stunk at everything as a kid, but I used to make up stories. I wanted to be a writer, but come high school my high school teachers kept giving me Bs on my honors english papers... apparently MLA was the main area of grading. So college came, had to pick a major. On a whim I chose education-- wow, was that a mistake. I loved the kids, hated the teaching. Politics and lesson plans. I realized I wanted to help kids be where they needed to be emotionally so they could tackle school better. So I decided guidance counselor, switched my major to psychology-- started getting recognition and encouragement from my professors. Applied for grad school, I'm going in late august. I also might be getting a job as a paraprofessional at a local school. Ideally though I'd like to do many things on the side. I have a lot of passions but I also have to make a pay check.

Well, I recently just got my very first job. I'm a Page in a library (Pages are the ones who go around putting the books in the right places and helping to keep the library neat and clean; it's a constantly moving job). I also get to help people find books. I like my job. smile

lightprincess03 I'm a housewife and mother. And before you sigh at that - it's a very good occupation and keeps me busy 24/7. Just because it's after hours, doesn't mean you get to relax...your family (esp. babies) doesn't shut off. xd Here, here! I'm not a mom myself, but my own mom was a stay-at-home mom all my life, and I have to say I didn't have half as much appreciation for even a fraction of the work that she does until I moved out on my own. smile And as for me, I'm a graduate student, working part-time on campus, and hoping to do well enough in my MA program to get funded for a Ph.D. I really want to be a child psychologist when all's said and done.

I am a theatrical technician and in a constant state of wondering what I am going to do next. It's the life of the theatre.
In two years however I will be going to graduate school for theatre and hopefully be able to become a teacher- college. I don't do well with young ones. Big ups to those who do.

Welll....
It used to be I worked in the theatre & film, I did costume design, stitching/sewing, wardrobe managment, dressing, properties design, etc. I still do that when I can get work, but I haven't done it for a while, I miss it. I also did a lot of reasearch assistant/assistant to the designer type stuff. I am also fairly adept in scenery work and painting/lighting/electrics, but I just have never made much money from it. =) I still sew all the time, but mostly just for myself.. though I love to work in the theatre. Anyone need a stitcher?
I currently have two occupations. One, I work as an "archivist" at the local courthouse, I keep their records neat and tidy, and try to keep things clean and organized, but it's an uphill battle, as there are 250+ years of records that nobody has touched or cleaned for 40 or 50 years.
Two, I work as a writer and research assistant for the local university/library. I'm a graduate student and I like to write about local history. I hope to get my PhD and go into a historical preservation related industry, or be a research consultant/historian for plays, films, or documentaries.
If anyone needs research done, I do freelance work!

I'm still a student, but as I'm only 22, I suppose that's alright; I'm in my fifth year of university, and I've got probably another four to go. I'm working on my honours degree, which is going to allow me to take my master and PhD later on, which means I'll be able to teach. My plan is to become a professor of Children's Literature, or teach Fantasy Lit, with a special focus on Children's Fantasy.
Right now, I'm just getting started at a call center to get me through school. For a summer job, I work in a tire manufacturing plant (yay Michelin stare ), and I've worked an assortment of other odd jobs: retail jobs, coffee shop, and a supervisor at my university meal hall. All of them have simply been a means to an end.

During the day I work at a company that makes legal software, mostly doing training. Yay. It pays the bills. I also play guitar in a jazz trio. That pays too, but not nearly as much. More importantly though I'm a husband and a father. Being a dad is my most important job. mrgreen
