Salem winced as Rex lifted him up, forced to put weight on his aching ankle, struggling to get his bearings and balance only to have the air chopped from his lungs, forcing him to stagger back!

Rex kept on Salem, aiming to deliver another chop in an attempt to stagger him further. If successful, Rex would run to the ropes, bound off,and attempt to place a boot into Salem's skull.

Just as soon as Salem got his feet stable, Rex had charged another chop into his chest, forcing "The Copperhead" to reel back into the ropes for balance! Trying to catch his breath, Croft gasped as Rex hit the opposite ropes and slammed a big boot into his face, knocking Salem back down to the mat!

Rex smirked as Salme hit the mat. He looked out at the crowd and gestured toward their fallen hero before lowering himself and covering Salem, hooking a leg for the pinfall attempt.

Rex pulled "Showtime" across the mat into a pin, Kobra's weight further exacerbating the effort for Salem to breathe! The referee got into position and began the count, fans watching with equally bated breath!
ONE!
TWO!
Before the referee could count to three, Salem shot a shoulder up in desperation, keeping himself alive in the match!

Rex sat up onto his knees in disbelief. Looking up at the Ref, he held up two fingers in a questioning manner. When the ref confirmed it, Rex stood getting into the ref's space, driving him back into the corner with presence alone.
"That was 3! Count Faster. Mister Carwright needs this. 1...2...3...do your f***** job, ref"
Rex moved away and started to pace around the ring for a moment, thinking of what else he could possibly dow, keeping his eyes on Salem the entire time.

While Rex flustered and pontificated, Salem did all he could to catch his breath and start pushing himself up, coughing a bit in the process of getting his feet up underneath himself!

Rex watched as Salem started to get his feet up under him before moving to go on the attack again, looking to actually deliver on one of those meaty punches.

Rex was approaching Salem with wicked intent, determined to slam a bolder of a fist down on the back of Salem's skull - but a snake is most dangerous when threatened! His ring awareness sharpening with the clearing fog in his head, Salem would anticipate the strike and instead spring up with a surprising burst of speed and dexterity, leaping off the mat and arching back to catch Rex around the neck and attempt his finishing Cutter, the "C.O.D."!

Rex was caught off guard and slammed to the mat with the Cutter. Dazed, the only thing Rex could do was roll from the ring and drop to the floor. After a several moments, the ref started his count.
"1..."

Salem's gambit had been successful - but perhaps too much so, as the effect of his finishing move had sent the big man to the outside of the ring, beyond his ability to recover for a pin! It was about all the power he'd saved playing possum just to execute the maneuver, leaving "Showtime" and his fans deflated as he could merely catch his breath on the canvas while the referee counted!

Rex stirred slightly on the ground, the cobwebs starting to clear...slowly.
"3..."
Rex's senses started to come back to him.
"4..."
Rex started to push himself up, using the ring to pull himself to his feet.

Staggering to his feet, Salem watched as Rex started doing the same - a worrying sight as "Showtime" knew he had to press his advantage after missing his golden opportunity! Psyching himself up with a few slaps to his chest, the crowd rallied behind Salem as he took off into the ropes, rebounding with speed and force to launch himself like a missile into Kobra on the outside!

Rex was caught by a flying Salem and thrown back into the barricade. He was wobbly on his feet, stunned. Leaning against the barricade was the only thing keeping Kobra on his feet.

As Salem collided into his huge 'father-in-law', the only thing that kept him going was the satisfaction of knowing he'd hurt the big man enough to keep him stunned against the barricade! At this point, the referee reset the count, giving Salem more time to recover and press the attack! Scrambling back up to his feet, "Showtime" began laying some of his trademark Tomahawk Chops into Rex's beefy chest!
