Gwen watched as mordred approached she vaguely remembered a similar clad knight from that day, nodding to mordred she got into the carraige next to arthur as he led the horses down the road,"Its.. true trust is small steps they will be angry with me but I knew I had to do this for them", she smiled with sadness,"I'm afraid they may even banish me but waiting any longer and the children starve", she told him; She listened to the night air,"The day you liberated the town I was beaten and could have been hurt more... but I think mordred saved me..", she said,"I'm glad she stepped in.. I am not one to take a beating but I will in order to not start a war with these people... I didn't want my own to have more worry with them already hating us so i didnt attack back that day.. perhaps knowing the situation now I could have saved myself a long time of painful nights..", she looked over at him with a sideways glance,"Though I will admit the look of shock in his face when I spit in it did bring me a small bit of satisfaction before I got punched in the stomach", she smirked,"You men are rather sensitive about that pride of yours hmm", she asked him;

"Point well made Pendragon", she told him smiling as she slipped to the ground heading off into the night woods... it wasn't long before she was confronted by a group of scouts,"who is that? why is there a carriage of food", taking a deep breathe guen looked them straight in the eyes,"Gather the council Arthur pendragon is giving us a peace offering.."; she turned to wait near the carriage seeing arthur no where nearby she paced around abit this was going could be brutal;

A group of men gathered from atop the heal and joined her at the bottom, they all began to speak in the ancient language,"what is this? peace offering he has offered", gwen made a motion towards the carriage,"He will give us food and help with proper shelter.. but in exchange he is going to need help", she explained to the others,"Its always something isnt it?", so one as another complained,"How you manage that gwen? NO man gives anything for free what sacrifice did you have to make", she sharply remarked,"My honor will remain in tact for the sake of us and my self", she then explained the situation with the neighboring king will be heading towards them to conquer the area again she said he would ensure there wouldn't be religious persecutions from his own people and they could live there lives peacefully in real homes; "we could farm again we could raise life stock live in real homes its an opportunity.. he is well over 100 knights ive seen his forces but he is going to need our help to keep them from taking over this land again.. we have to join forces or we shall all fall...", she explained to them all; she watched as they looked at the carriage most of the older ones refused to accept while many of her own age began to contemplate this and thought about it,"We are the last of our people we have to find a solution", she told them softly,"Please...", she offered her hand out in a pleading gesture as her childhood friends stepped forward,"we believe you gwen... but it will be hard for them they are so scared.."; She nodded her head in agreement,"I have led us through many victories but I am not sure if we can win without help this time....", she explained to them all;

The sound of arthur's approach as he stepped out only for 5 men to step infront of him they were all readying for an attack as gwen looked to her people as he told her run for now; she turned to her people,"GO!! run gather arms and come back we can't leave him to die!", she watched as her people took off into the woods as she told arthur,"I'm not leaving my people will come back and help you 5 are foolish to think you can take me on in these woods", she picked up a stick and threw one at one of the men as it hit him in the head 3 rushed towards her ready to attack; She grabbed up her walking stick they were being foolish to try to attack her she had bashed in many heads with the bone on the end and spiked many with the pointed edge;

The 3 that came to attack her found themselves thinking it would be easy as they circled her they all 3 went in for the attack she slipped through two of them as the 3rd crashed into his friends turning she wacked one of them on the back of the head dealing a deadly blow; as the other two staggered upwards to reach her only to hear arthur as the wind began to pick up Gwenhwyfar had to drop onto the ground as to be not blow away by the might of it as the other two were blown about in odd directions with the two remaining that arthur was fighting; He called upon excalibur and then strucked across as a beam so bright blinded gwen as she lay her head onto the ground to not burn her eyes when she looked up the rest of them were gone non could be seen as she looked up to see a golden cross in the sky as she slowly got to her feet,"Your god did that?", she asked staring up into the sky where the cross had faded; She could hear shuffling behind her as her people slowly came out to see the brillance about them they all had spears and bows and arrows thought it seemed that the threat was gone; gwen stood awe struck,"How did you come to possess such power?"

Gwen watched as her people filled out of the woods star struck as her as arthur explained it was a weapon he got from his father and it had incredible power,"so your not a sorcerer", she whispered mostly to herself as she watched him offering food and blankets to them,"thank you arthur we will take these back to our home... I will come see you tomorrow morning to discuss what we can't do about those who are trying to invade us", she replied to him; as she watched them slowly approach getting more and more supplies and carrying them back through the woods; Her heart ached... they were almost skin and bones she could have said the same about herself but because she was already slim bodied it didnt show on her small phsyic as much;

Gwen came the next morning without another escort knowing she wouldn't need one she entered the camp seeing preparations already being made for her people hopefully they to could be like these and mingle regardless of what god they believed in; Looking up as she seen a pair of guards,"Take me to Arthur Pendragon", she informed them they took her with them in the morning light she felt odd walking about in the day in these clothes the glare of the sun on her skin did not feel well to her when she spent her whole life in the shadows of the trees she was glad when they entered a building,"Greetings Pendragon, I am hear to discuss battle preparations for the invaders", she told him, she looked about even the servants who had pale skin were not as pale as she was... she looked down at her arm for the first time in her life feeling self conscious about her appearance; Though her expression was passive her mood did offset she was not as happy as yesterday;

Gwen approached the map giving it a calculated glance as lancelot,explained arthur's situation,"I say his Lordship should rest", Gwen turned to arthur,"Pendragon if you dont get rest what will your men do if they were to attack today?", she demands slamming a hand down onto the table infront of him as she leaned in,"Listen its important for those in position of power to make sure they take care of those who are not.. is our solmen duty and vow and I will not watch you make a fool of yourself when we are this close to victory", she patted his shoulder,"Let me tell you I have done as you have done now and it has cost me greater pain in the long run I suggest you rest and I shall return later", she turned and grabbed her staff,"I will be by later in the evening do not worry about the upcoming war I am sure with the might of your knights and the knowledge of my people we will find a solution to crush those that oppose us", she promised as she looked over her shoulder;

Gwen stops watches him get up and leave and turns back to the table setting her staff to the side her finger slides across the woods,"Epping forest stretches' across this way here...", she showed them,"The north river here is known for its rapids it will be difficult to cross its only low in the winter and we are nearly over that it will start to rise soon and they wont have enough time to get across until late summer", she explained,"There is an opening here though they will have to journey miles across open land and if we see them it will be eaiser to start shooting.. there only option is here...", she showed a narrow opening through the forest that had a small bits of open land,"If we attack here we can use the trees to our advantage take control of the situation.... this choke point could be as easy as building a few towers before they arrive blocking this way off...", she concluded,"Me and my people can use our skill with the bow to thin them off from the sides using the trees to our advantage while they rush in once they hit this point", she showed them where the two armies would meet,"Is where your knights will shine how many horses sir Lancelot do we have in total?", she asks;
